Steak Thyme Subs

Good gyros. Consistent quality. I’ve ordered from here a few times and have always received good food. One of my got-​tos for takeout.

If you don’t spend a lot of money on food they will short change you food. Not to mention the food we did receive look stale and old I just threw it out.

The Greek salad is awesome! Everything on the menu is made fresh and tastes great. Good service dining in too! A must try local spot.

I ate here for the first time on Friday after a couple of friends recommended it, they definitely lived up to the hype. The staff was SO friendly and did everything they could to earn my next visit. I ordered the Philly Cheese Steak and it was really good. They claimed it was the best cheesesteak in Dayton and they’re not far off, IMO it’s the second best. I give the cheesesteak a 4.5 out of 5, the only knock being how soggy the bread got within a 5 minute drive home. They earned my perfect rating with their staff’s welcoming attitude and the cleanliness of their restaurant. I would definitely recommend it and I can’t wait to go back.

Excellent service!!! And great tasting food! Management was kind and very attentive to all our needs. Great prices and good subs. We will visit again.

Seasoned fries were fresh and on point!
Like so many others it seems, I have been driving past this place, never stopping by for a taste testing. Well, I finally did. I walked in and the air was smoky, but pleasantly smoky to me, like a piece of meat wasn’t quite burned but had been on the grill too long. There were two men working, one on the grill, the other serving first as the hostess, and then the waiter. The hostess greeted me and asked me to sit where I liked. I liked a booth on the right. I didn’t know what to get and he recommended the gyro with fries. It was the special that night for $ 6.99 or something close to that. He said it was the best gyro in Dayton. I’ll admit it was pretty good but it didn’t have that punch, that pow, to me. Plenty of tzatziki sauce, fresh tomatoes, and onion, and good quality gyro meat, you know, the sliceable kind that may or may not be lamb. The important thing is that it was made with love and it was fresh, and that goes a long way. The seasoned fries were baller, also fresh, and cooked to perfection. I liked the fries better than the gyro. I’ll go back and try the burger. If everything is that fresh all the time, I think the burger would be a good way to go.

This is a hidden little gem! Best subs, Greek salad and fries. Family owned, lovely people.

Have driven by this place for years now and honestly thought it was just another small chain and not worth checking out, I was wrong! Steak Thyme is quite the hidden gem, tucked away in a mini strip mall by a tax prep place and behind the lee’s fried chicken joint, definitely worth checking out!
Very clean and welcoming inside with plenty of seating, the service was very prompt and friendly as well. The menu had what one would expect with the name, a variety of subs, cheesesteaks, salads, gyros, etc. It did seem to have a greek spin to certain dishes, they have a thyme baked potato with cheese and gyro meat on top, unique spin on the traditional baked potato and pretty good!
I opted for the cheese steak. It came out on a toasted sub roll which was fresh and very tasty! The meat had a great taste and I would put it up against penn station any day, really good flavor!
Overall I really enjoyed Steak Thyme, glad I finally stopped in after all of these years! The lady whom I paid as I left asked how we heard about the place and of course I told her I read Unilocal reviews! So, after you read this review you should go check them out so you can say the same thing!

Friend had a coupon and asked me to go. Very good Philly, service and location. I honestly couldn’t think of one reason to deduct a star lol. I’d highly recommend.

The best traditional gyro I’ve had in Dayton. Well maybe the second best behind the Greek stand at the Farmer’s market on second street. At any rate, great gyro, awesome tzatziki and really good fries.

So, I love a philly cheesesteak, and I’ve been dying to try this place for months. I finally made it there for carry out last week, and was very happy with the results.
It turns out that they make their cheesesteaks with thyme, and it’s a delicious, but subtle difference from the traditional cheesesteak sandwiches. Also, I think they cook the meat on a flat top grill, because it retained amazing flavor and was really juicy. Not the healthiest way to go, but I don’t know anyone who orders a cheesesteak on a diet, so who cares.
They have a really eclectic menu, including a variety of cheesesteak sandwiches, and everything on it sounded great. I also got the fresh cut fries, which definitely lose something when you take them to go, but would certainly be very good if you ate them right out of the fryer. And they put some kind of paprika seasoning on them, which was yummy.
Prices are totally reasonable, and I’m guessing this is a family venture, which I like to support. The three ladies who were there that day were all so nice.
There is a drive through as well. Be prepared to wait at the drive through, as they are cooking everything for you, it’s not a fast food place.
Yes, I’ll be back. The dilemma will be if I order the same delicious sandwich, or branch out to try one of the other tasty sounding sandwiches…
