Big screens for sports, nice atmosphere and very clean.
A nice break from the chains.

Stopped in Dayton on our way to St. Louis and was looking for a quick bite to eat and found this place on Unilocal and WOW ! Best sub I had in years and the pepper relish is HOT but made the Italian sub great! Oh get the super with the works. Lots of meat.

Free WiFi, Full bar, daily lunch specials. The best sub’s in Dayton. Great bread, not greasy. Lots of meat when you order the right one, I highly recommend the Super Cheesesteak. Juke box here. Booths. 7 big screens.

The subs are amazing and the best. However do not go to the vandalia location on thursday trivia night. We were sitting at our table enjoying a beer after our sub and some extremely rude local snob of a women asked us when we’re we leaving so she could have our table three different times. We did not leave just in spite of her and hopefully ruined her evening. She also had her underage child bellied up at the bar sitting a great parenting example. It also seemed like the bartender girls wanted us to leave too since they checked on us so much. Avoid the place on Thursday’s as you will not feel welcomed by the business.

Sub was okay, good bread and full of condiments, but the meat was non-​existent. Reminiscent of the old Wendy’s commercials. Service was atrocious, 40 mins for a take out sub and not apology. You should be ashamed worthless guy working the window. People at the bar came and went before I even got my order in. This guy had zero personal skills and nearly caused me to miss my flight. May try again, after I cool down, with double the time and double the meat. Not if that kid is there again though!

Every sub I have had has been delicious. French Fries are probably my favorite side item. Great Drink specials. Food alone there are definitely a 5⁄5. But this particular location is rather small and parking can be tricky at times. Super Cheese Steak with the Works is the way to go!!!

Honestly if I could, I would give SH 10. I have been around the world twice (literally) and I can say definitively that this place has the best subs on planet earth. I wish there was one in DC as its a heck of a drive just to get an amazing sub.

The cheese steak was amazing! Great flavor and a good portion size for a hungry man. 8 inch with a fried side was very filling. I would definately return.

If you are looking for a sub in the Vandalia or Dayton area, then this is place for you. Admittedly, I’m a long time fan of SH, as I’ve known the owners since a kid and enjoyed their yummy oversized sandwiches for years. We’ve lived in Cincinnati for the past 16 years, and take every opportunity to stop at SH to get our fix of their hot pepper relish and either italian fixings (my fav) or philly cheese steak (my wife’s). The only reason for 4⁄5 stars is that we tend to treat this as more of a take out vs. dine in location… although recent changes to the Vandalia location has turned it into a decent bar. If you go, don’t pass on the hot peppers… they’re the bomb. Cheers.
