This was our first visit. Sunday afternoon so definitely a wait but we expected that. I had the original buttermilk pancakes which were delicious. Eric had the blueberry pancakes which he gave 2 thumbs up. Full order was 6 half order was 3… large pancakes too. We ordered a side of bacon which was not the best. It was a little on the tough dry side. Unfortunately we both ordered 4 pieces but could only eat 2 of them. Next time going to pass on the bacon. With juices the total bill was $ 34 .so a tad pricey for the total meal. The staff was friendly and young. Ask for a booth. .tables in the middle are high foot traffic. …

My second visit requires another 5 star rating for the pumpkin pancakes alone — they were amazing! This time we had to wait about 15 minutes to get a table(we were told 30) but it was so worth it. My 3 pumpkin pancakes were perfectly warm and flavorful and the whipped cream on top was delicious, so I didn’t even bother with the maple syrup. My husband and I both ordered the create your own scrambled eggs with ham & cheddar(and I also had spinach in mine). Fluffy, perfectly cooked eggs and lots of them! Loaded with quality ham, cheddar, and fresh spinach. They are so generous with everything so I find the menu prices to be absolutely amazing for the quantity AND quality of the food here. The bacon is over-the-moon delicious. Huge slices that look hard but are actually perfectly chewy and so salty(bad for your health, sure, but so good for my tastebuds!). We also split a full order of the Texas style potatoes — a nice onion flavor that went great with our meals. So this was yet another visit where everything was hot, tasty and served quickly… and TOPH has the BEST pancakes(and whip) I’ve ever tasted! I am officially in love.

Always delicious, thick bacon, perfectly cooked to order eggs, fluffy pancakes served with real butter and warm syrup.

Delicious breakfast but unless you haven’t eaten in years I would suggest splitting. Portions are massive.

We try to go to the Original Pancake House at least once per month ever since they opened up many years ago. The amount of food is a very good deal for the price. But the quality of the food is as good as it gets. Super YUM! My wife and I for the past year almost always seem to order the same selections even though every selection we’ve tried has been Super YUM. We’ve decided the yummiest Super Yum choice to be for me the Western Omelet with salsa sauce and the 3 pancakes on the side with their super yummy coffee with lots of real cream. My wife orders Eggs Michael with potato pancakes. As I said, everything is super good and the portions are generous. Final hint… they can be very busy so we try to go between traditional breakfast and lunch hours around 11:00AM and are usually seated and served quickly. The service has always treated us great, BTW.

The strawberry crepes are delicious. They provide you a generous pile of strawberries and whoop cream.

Good food with a menu offering a wide variety of breakfast specialties. Not a particularly customer friendly atmosphere. The host will not seat your party until everyone in it is standing in his sight. That’s the rule and it cannot be overlooked. Ever. Service is very slow.

Good food. BUT their service is super slow! You’ll end up waiting for your food for about 30−45min. Not only does it take long to get your food, it takes just as long to get seated. So try to get there before you’re starving ha because the food really is good!

This is not a place to go if your in a hurry on a weekend morning. long wait and slow service. But they serve something I love … a Dutch Baby. it’s cooked in a cast iron skillet and probably should be enough for two. but I eat it all. I squeeze lemon on it and sprinkle powdered sugar. it’s got fruit in it but it’s not got a fruity taste. I’m not a fan of fruit so that is ok. It takes longer to make that so between the wait, service and cooking time we are there for about 2 hours. Thus we don’t do it often. around once a year. regular breakfast food would be faster but I wouldn’t wait there for regular breakfast food.

Busy. even late on Monday morning(1130) about a five minute wait to be seated. Very clean bright and open but loud. Server very attentive, clean and polite. Booths are a bit tight and unforgiving if you have some girth. A bit pricey for«pancakes» and«coffee». Order of 49er pancakes and short stack of blueberry took longer than expected to be served. 49er flapjacks good and chewy but size over all is equivalent to 1 plate sized normal pancake and not worth $ 9. Bottomless coffee close to $ 3 not much of a deal either. Willing to pay for service, cleanliness and unique food(rarity in restaurant american nowadays) then this place is right for you. Looking for a bargain on food /portions– not so much.

I love Original Pancake House. They have many delicious Pancakes, but the best thing they have is the Dutch Baby and it’s sister dish the Big Apple. On the menu it talks about how these things take a long time to make, and that has been true at every Original Pancake House I have been to. Also, they are BIG. You can *PROBABLY* share it with someone else, or at the very least if you order one for just yourself, you’ll have plenty leftover for later. If you are in the area and looking for a delicious breakfast experience, I highly recommend Original Pancake House.

Surprisingly not bad for a dive breakfast location. I ordered the pancakes and coffee. The pancakes had good flavor and were a good portion. The side of bacon was a nice highlight and consisted of some nice thick strips. The service was good and the price was right. Don’t expect a high end meal, you get what you get out of a strip mall diner.

There is only one item anyone should be ordering in this restaurant. The fresh strawberry pancakes. fresh strawberries, fresh home whipped cream(omagah), with a light and somehow rich at the same time red strawberry syrup, paired with the flavor of the pancakes. Theyre not just your average pancake. They have this yeasty flavor that cuts through the sweetness of the syrup and cream. It’s a really nice balance. With that and the service(my coffee mug is never dry, they have my heart) alone I would give five stars. Unfortunately I’ve tried some other menu items and been disappointed. The seafood crêpe uses imitation crab(ew ew ew). The dutch baby is nothing to wait 30 minutes for, and they will make you do that because that’s how long it takes to cook one. The omelets are average. kind your hum drum omelet menu. western, meat lovers, egg white and spinach, all things we’ve seen before.

I love the food here but it’s a tad over priced. And there is always an insane wait no matter what time you go on a Sunday morning. And then you end up feeling rushed. I’ve also never really had that nice of a server.. they seemed rushed as well and not overly friendly :/ This was pertaining to the Centerville location. …

HORRIBLEMANAGEMENT!!! Service is subpar!!! Stay AWAYFROMCENTERVILLELOCATION!!! These are the two most important qualities in a restaurant. They get one star because the food is good. You have been warned!!!

First off let me say that I love original house of pancakes in other locations. Even though there is a wait the one in Wilmette always takes extra special care to seat people together and accommodate. The Dayton /Centerville location is the worst service I have had at any restaurant in my life. I went on my birthday and waited an hour with party to seat together for brunch. We mentioned several times that of we could not seat together we wanted to sit within view of each other. They tried to seat us on separate sides of the restaurant and the owner started yelling at me when I asked to take one table now and the one that was clearing two tables away so we could sit in proximity. He was verbally abusive and not accommodative. No places good is good enough to justify that rudeness to your customers. I will never attempt to eat there again and actively discourage anyone else from going there as well.

I’ve been to this location multiple times. The food is always delicious! Always. I give it 3 stars due to the service. It’s always hit or miss. On one visit you will have the BEST server… happy, quick, remembers everything you ordered, and keeps your coffee full. Then the next visit the server doesn’t come to your table for 15 minutes, forgets that you needed ketchup for your potatoes and brings it after they’ve gotten cold and doesn’t let you order the Dutch Baby because it takes too long and they’re busy. Just cross your fingers for the good server, because the service really makes the 30 – 45 minute wait to get a table worth it. If the service was more consistent I’d be more than happy to rate them with five stars.

This is the only breakfast place in Dayton that motivates me to wake up early on a Saturday. The pancakes are simply delicious and available in a wide variety of flavors like strawberry, potato, even bacon! I also have to get a large glass of orange juice every time I visit here. Fresh squeezed, it tastes like biting into a fresh sweet orange. Yum! If pancakes aren’t your breakfast food of choice, there are other options(omelets, biscuits, sausage, etc) although I can’t speak to any of those because I always go for the pancakes! Expect a wait, but it is well worth it. Two thumbs up for The Original Pancake House!

This is the second time that I have been here and yep they are still slow to get the food out. The food itself is really good. I like there potato pancakes it seems to be my go to dish. There omelets are ginormous and they take a long time to make. In the end I can deal with the the slow food delivery as long as they put out a great product

We love this breakfast place. When back in Centerville, we make it a point to stop in at least once during our stay. This visit was a little bit of a downer. I’m hoping the staff was simply having an off day. Our waitress was not very attune with us. I ordered the apple waffle. It came to the table moderately warm ~ the butter didn’t even begin to melt. When I finally got the attention of our waitress, she was more than disturbed when I handed her the plate and ordered something else. I also ordered my usual, Mandarin Crepes. The crêpe was actually burnt on the inside and the edges crispy. Sigh. On the upside, the coffee was still delicious!
