This is a «Dignity Memorial» funeral home now. When I lived in Dayton was family owned now it is run by Service Corporation International(SCI) — huge corporation based out of Houston, Texas. Dollars are what matters to them most — not reputation or client service. Buyer be careful when you see«Dignity» or the funeral home is affixed to Stewart Enterprises, Carriage Services, Newcomer and some of ot the other larger corporate concerns. I llived on Irving Ave. in Oakwood — Routsong had a funeral home doors down from our house on Irving and I believe it was Far Hills or Brown — since then they moved to a new building I am told but that the Routsong family is still managing the business. The Routsongs were great neighbors always doing something for our community and we played in thier parking lot — they were great and such a nice family! Tobias and Hoyne were also in Dayton and well thought of — but those have given way to corporate concerns that leave the family name on the sign, but are run from some central lcoation. Sorry to read how badly folks were treated and made to wait at a sad time and on a cold day… certainly not with«Dignity.»
