Tony’s Olé Saloon. What can I say about this place. It is the dive bar of dive bars. I think the only reason that we go it because it is right across the street from my friend’s house. It reminds me of Mos Eisley Cantina from Star Wars. I would not be surprised if some sort of person told me they didn’t like my face. Now Tony and his father Ray are great people and have become good friends with and the people I hang out with. They have fair prices and are friendly and welcoming. The patrons however, are a wild bunch. Mostly the people from Dayton they can be real tools sometimes but most have good intentions. I feel that the local attraction there is Marty, a local who reminds me of Oscar the Grouch. Listen to his stories to get a good laugh.

I heard about Tony’s Olé Saloon this weekend at Thyme Square, around the corner in Bellevue. When I told the owners I was going to use the lavender I purchased for vodka infusions they told me Tony also uses their lavender, as well as their rose hips for vodka infusions at his bar. Being a huge fan of infusions, I called up a buddy and went directly to Tony’s. As I was warned at Thyme Square, Tony’s father was minding the bar while Tony was on vacation this week. Tony’s dad readily admitted he was clueless on the matter of the infused vodka and soda I ordered which he served to me in a tiny thimble like cup. Perhaps he thought I wanted a shot? Anyhoo, Tony’s pops charming personality made up for his lack of knowledge on infusions. He said he told his son no one would want to drink«that stuff» and seems pleased I was proving him wrong and cheerfully chatted us up about his musical career and neighborhood history. Tony’s olé Saloon has a homey relaxed vibe featuring live bands a karaōke some nights. I will be back soon to have a drink from Tony.
