YMCA of Greater Dayton

I have a young family and we love this Y. You can’t beat the price and there are so many things to enjoy for each member of the family. As a mom, I love that there is almost always childcare available and the cost is included in the membership. I also like the indoor play area for the kids and the sports options for my kids.

THIS is a great facility, and a perfect hub for a community (HH) that’s growing FAST and needs a central spot (other than over-​crowded shopping centers!!). Friendly, knowledgable staff, EXCELLENT facilities, convenient hours and something for EVERYONE, from a cozy, well run baby-​sitting room, a wide range of classes for everyone, from beginners to advanced (some classes– for example Zumba– SO popular… WISH there was a bigger room!!), GREAT, well-​maintained cardio machines that are rarely out of service and almost never have a wait…, clean locker rooms (a little moldy smelling sometimes, carpet bad idea!!), a beautiful olympic sized pool that you can actually use (not ALWAYS taken over by the swim team!!), and many more specialized programs/​events for children and adults. I credit their «Move to Lose» program for FINALLY getting me off my A$$ and motivated to work HARD to get in shape. Great trainers, staff that stays on top of things and truly seem happy to have you there, using the facility… There’s also a new outdoor water park and concert site, just up this year which we’ve seen but not used yet. I **miss** this place! Why did I leave? Moved out of the area (to Springfield) but considering coming back, as the Y here is not even remotely comparable to this excellent facility…
