Molly Hatchets Sub Shop

Mollys has hands down the best steak su b in town and thier other items are also great and the delivery is great too.

I’ve been driving past Molly Hatchets for years and always thought parking would be a hassle.
I pulled in today and there was plenty of parking next to the building.
Ordered the Italian Sub which was huge and wonderful!
There was a chef waiting for his order when I walked in, turned out he ordered a cheesesteak so that will be what I order next time.
Great subs and fast no nonsense service makes Molly Hatchet’s Subs a winner in my book.

I ordered a large Philly Cheesesteak sub with everything, fries and drink. The sub was delicious filled with fresh toppings and melted provolone cheese. I was surprised that I didn’t have a long wait for my order to be filled and ready to go. Will definitely come back to try the other food on my next trip! Awesome service provided by Ehab, the owner!

Ahem. Now that I have your attention I will tell you what my experience was like ordering from Molly Hatchets Sub Shop. I would like to start off by saying that the order arrived within a decent time frame. But that is about all the good I can say about this particular venue. I ordered Mollys Famous Philly Steak Sandwich, The hot Buffalo wings, and the Veggie Salad.
First the Philly Steak sandwich was pretty terrible. There was very little cheese and it tasted very bland. I feel the blandness could have been covered up pretty well with some cheese but there was almost none. I am not from Philly, but I am sure that if a Philadelphian had eaten this sandwich they would have been appalled. I would not hesitate to rename this particular dish Mollys «Infamous» Philly Steak Sandwich.
Second, the wings were okay but nothing I would care to write to mother about. They had a good level of spice, and over all were adequate. However, they cost $ 1.00 per wing which I find to be enormously over priced considering they were very much on the small side.
Third, the Veggie Salad. I ate this last figuring «How could you screw up salad?» But I was again let down. The «Lechuga» (Spanish for Lettuce) was wilted and thrown together with the very few other «Veggies» in an enormously slip shod manner. «Whats that?» you may be saying «What is slip shod and how does it apply to lettuce?» Order the salad and find out. But please understand that you do so at your own risk. In addition when I requested extra dressing I was called and informed that extra dressing (perhaps a nickles worth) would cost an extra 50 cents. Petty I know, but still irksome.
And lastly, while this establishment is named Molly Hatchets Sub Shop, I did not, in fact, receive a hatchet with which I could certainly have used to rectify the Zombie infestation I had helpfully alluded to at the beginning of this review.

Was here about 5 or 6 years ago had a great sub went yesterday and had a Philly cheese steak sub it was very good hot and fresh no Fountain drinks though only can sodas they used to have picnic tables outside you could eat on they don’t have those anymore just a few stools inside to sit on need to get the picnic tables back

I told the owner I would come back and he made me the best sub I’ve ever eaten tell the owner you’re a friend of Dave J and I recommended and he will make you the best sub, good eating my friends mentioned Dave J tell the owner I sent you you will have the best sandwhich

Food is ok service sucks
And most subs take 15 mins to make and you can watch their sub making skills. They really take their time seems like it’s to much trouble to make a person a nice sub
To me that’s a crock of shizzzzzzz it’s really rude to make a sandwich so slow like you can’t stand to feed someone a nice sandwich Please be prepared to wait and wait and get dirty looks for being a costumer

Absolutely horrible… food was nasty, the sandwiches are overloaded with condiments the buns stay soaked and slimy… meat has no flavor, fries taste like they get reheated in a microwave, the calamari is tough and boring (you’d be better off getting frozen calamari from the freezer section at Walmart)…Then on top of everything it took forever (well over an hour) and the service sucked… Ill never eat here again. Should be-​3 stars…

Straight down to the business, this place has some of the best subs I have tried in daytona area. I ordered a chicken parm and it was delicious from the perfect crust to the bread and mouth watering tenderness to the chicken.
Only thing that turned my compass to negative was the cleanliness of the place. From the looks of it, not a modern/​posh subshop. It gives you a feel of a biker gang sub shop, which to most of us, isn’t attractive
Other then that, lovely food.

I really enjoyed having lunch at Molly hatchet. The owner and was there and was very friendly greeting us. The food was great. We had a Philly cheese steak sub which was top 10 I’ve ever had anywhere in the world and chicken parm sub which was huge. Highly recommend this little gem!!!

Maybe they’re good when you dine in, but I ordered delivery and it took an hour and 15 minutes to get to me. The food was cold. The delivery guy was rude. Probably won’t order from here again. I wanted delivery because I just worked 12 days straight and just didn’t want to leave the comfort of my home. If they are going to offer delivery, they need a much better system.

I ordered delivery, and I’m not that far from the restaurant (about 3 miles, no traffic to speak of), but it took over an hour, and the food arrived mostly cold. Reheated the zucchini fries and potato skins so they were edible. Zucchini fries probably would have been pretty good fresh. Potato skins had weird bacon bits on them (bright orange colored), and needed a lot of sour cream to be good. Also had buffalo wings, and they weren’t too spicy, but they were cold and already dried out and chewy, so didn’t want to reheat them. Barely edible. Finally had a Philly cheese steak that I specified «steak, cheese and onions only» — could not even tell if there was cheese on it. Was the warmest out of the items we tried, but we’ve had way better. This experience may have been better if it hadn’t been delivered cold, but some items just wouldn’t have been that great anyway. Definitely will never order here again, delivery, take-​out, or in the restaurant. Should have been wary after some of the reviews on here.

Would leave no stars but I can’t…tried to order a delivery because I heard good things but called from my hotel pool that is maybe a block away because I saw it this morning & because I didn’t know the address zip code and blah blah blah I couldn’t. I mean I understand it’s my responsibility to have all that good stuff but I’m poolside on the beach on vacation go the extra mile and help me out a little. The woman wouldn’t come down off her thrown and even offer help and I literally gave her the hotel name and intersection in the heart of Daytona and asked if she could deliver it to the pool. Before I wrote this review I had already ordered somewhere else which was glad to help.

The subs are really delicious. The bread is great and the service was good. The BLT sub was excellent as was the Italian sub. This place is strictly a carry out restaurant, don’t expect to eat there.

Not sure why this place doesn’t have better reviews. We ordered delivery and it was fantastic. I’m in love with their Philly Cheesesteaks! Pasta salad was tasty and my man enjoyed their burger. I will definitely be ordering from them again. Only problem I foresee is that I won’t try anything new because I’ll always order the Philly…

Great food. Best cheese steak around. Delivery which is awesome. They’ll bring it right to your hotel room. Love it.

Solid sub shop. I ordered the large Chicken Philly cheese steak sandwich. It was HUGE but I somehow managed to finish it in one sitting. I thought this place might have been owned by one of the former members of the band with the same name but they report they were in business back North from before the band existed. I guess they both used the same name coincidentally but no relation.

Don’t plan on sitting down, there’s nowhere to sit. But if you want a decent $ 5 sandwich it’s not a bad place to go, especially when everything on the strip is more expensive for lunch besides burger king or a single slice pizza place. The mini sandwich which is $ 4.99 was plenty of food for me, and there are several sandwich options in that size and price. The Mini is actually a pretty big sandwich.

I’m not sure how this place only has 2 stars. Its easily above average. It is more of a walk in and walk out sub shop. There isn’t much seating inside. The prices are right and the subs are great too. They pile the meet on their fresh fluffy bread. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great sub.
