Proving Ground Bar and Grill

Stopped in on 12÷02÷15 Around 5:35pm and ordered The Cool Down Drink which was strong, that’s moonshine for you. I also ordered the Hot Links Burger which was really really good, Amanda the bartender did a fantastic job cooking the burger. The place looks really nice after the makeover, they did a great job. My only gripe, they should put more lighting outside, in the parking lot area. Seems like a fun place to come back to.

Unilocal tells me I need to make my review more detailed so here it goes. I’m guessing someone from the business complained and wanted it taken down. Apparently, you miss the whole point and purpose of Unilocal.If you don’t like negative reviews — get your shit together and have some respect for people and for the business.
I was home visiting family last week and I was dragged to this place because it was on a reality show recently and they wanted to check it out.
My first thought upon walking in the door — MOLD. I’m very sensitive to toxins and chemicals so I was immediately feeling a little stick and the odor was unmistakable.
Second thought — the Chandra person is rude, crude and beyond unprofessional and treated the employees like trash. This is unacceptable and I made my friend leave a bigger tip just because I felt so sorry for the girl. Nobody should have to work in those conditions — to be verbally abused in front of customers?!? What kind of business would allow this? I can only assume she’s the owner or she’d be out on her ass.
I haven’t seen the show but I’m told that if I would have — I would have expected that kind of behavior and unprofessional atmosphere.
The one star is for the price of drinks and that’s about it. But then again, I live in CA and regularly pay about $ 6 for a beer so I’m pretty easy to impress in that category.

Came here for a nice meal with a couple of my friends. I ordered a burger with no tomato. When I got my burger, it had tomato on it. I when I asked about it, the waitress asked, «cant you just pick it off?» I was a little upset about it and replied «well I guess I could but I ordered it without the tomato so I’d rather have a new one made» A huge sigh was let out from the waitress. She grabbed the burger and walked back into the kitchen. She immediately walked back with the burger and slammed the plate on the table. When I lifted the bun, I could see a tomato imprint in the cheese. Needless to say, I will never be going back.

I was just passing through the area on a motorcycle trip. I decided to opt for plain old, purely American burger. I specifically asked for no mustard. After about an hour, I was brought a bottle of mustard. That’s it. No bun, burger, or cheese. What the heck?

My girlfriend and I stopped by this bar during an overnight stay on my way back to Fort Campbell, KY.
It took me about 15 minutes to convince Chandra (the owner) that the date on the back of my military ID did in fact put me over the age of 21. She then proceeded to tell me her personal feelings on the war, how I was wasting my time in Afghanistan and Iraq, and that she felt sorry for me. I finished my drink and left, but not before hearing her be completely rude and disrespectful to at least three other customers at the bar.
Before I left she asked me if I thought I was special because I had a «Purple Heart — Combat Wounded» license plate on my car. I replied, «No, just lucky I guess.» and then proceeded to leave.
I will never return to this bar for as long as Chandra is employed there.

The owner talks like a sailor, that’s not so bad, but to call her employees the vulgar things is unacceptable. The bar needs rescue… again!
The food, not so bad, but the owner ruins it, she will end up sinking her own business, and that’s a shame…

Stopped in for an after dinner drink and to see the remodel after bar rescue. It was a Saturday evening and they weren’t busy at all. Which is normally a pretty bad sign. After picking a table found one that wobbled as a waitress walked over and said «oh yeah that happens a lot at the tables». Decided to move to another high top and ordered our drinks. Ordered a vodka soda and a beer. The vodka soda tasted exactly like soda water no vodka at all. Waitress never came back over to see if we needed or wanted another round of drinks. Had to walk up to the bar to get our tab after waiting for over 15 minutes with no new drinks. Rating 2 stars only because it was brighter inside than before and didn’t try any of the food items.

Great neighborhood sports bar!
While on the way here I remembered as soon as I saw the place that this was a bar recently rescued by Jon Taffer for his show Bar Rescue.
We stepped in and instantly felt a comfortable neighborhood bar vibe. Lots of TV’s all over to keep on top of your favorite sports teams.
The staff was very polite, even the bartenders on the other end of the bar (whose section we didnt sit in) said «Hi».
I loved the car theme for the interior of the bar. My friends exact words were «wow, what a place this would be to come to after work for a round or two while watching a game on tv».
I also love how they have the dartboard (s) in a separate little gaming room so it’s out of the way of the rest of the bar crowd.
I didn’t get a chance to explore the food menu, or ask about the Car chairs that were set up in the bar.
But my friends and I enjoyed the place so I have no doubt we will be back!

Came here on the first night it was open for the bar rescue «relaunch». The drinks are pretty good, although very expensive. I tried the prove it which was like drinking siriacha water. Seriously. Also tried the 6^th gear which was STRONG.
The gravy and cheese tots are on point though.
⁴⁄₅ because I can’t base my review on a night they SLAMMED the bar for filming. Will return soon to give a better review.

So i stopped in on the official first night it was open, and under extreme stress the bartender cyn stepped up to the challenge and made me 3 drinks in a good time facing an extreme challenge, the new interior is top notch, it’s a great bar!
