I am not a fan of the wedding dresses at David’s Bridal. Not sure if it was just the style I was looking for or what, but all of the dresses I looked at had cheap looking fabric and none of them fit well. I did end up getting my flower girl dress from this David’s Bridal, however. For some reason, the flower girl dresses looked to be of higher quality than some of the bridal gowns. As far as service, some of the sales associates seemed disinterested, busy, and all together not friendly, but whenever I went up there and dealt with Mariam A, she was great. Extremely friendly and helpful.

Full disclosure— I had no intentions of visiting a David’s Bridal to buy a dress for my wedding. I’d ordered a short casual dress from DB online and it arrived with multiple large splotches of make-up on it. And then I had to pay for return shipping on a dress I never tried on, so I’d ruled out DB However, I’m getting married in December and my laid-back approach to wedding planning produced no dress by mid-October. A trip to a large retailer became necessary. I scheduled an appointment to DB and crossed my fingers. Ashley was the consultant who helped me find the dress I’m going to get married in. Unlike other consultants from other dress shops, Ashley was positive and helpful. She asked questions about what I was interested in and listened to what I said. I’m exceptionally modest, but felt completely comfortable with Ashley squeezing me into a corset bra and dressing/undressing me in every dress. As each dress was beautiful, I had a difficult time ruling out any dress, so Ashley asked qualifying questions to help. Then, when I put on the last dress, I knew it was the one. Despite my last minute shopping, my dress will be delivered with plenty of time to make possible alterations. Sure, David’s Bridal worked out because it has a large inventory of dresses, but Ashley is the reason I found the dress for me. Thank you, Ashley!

My experience wasn’t a good one I scheduled my date to look at dresses and my sales person didn’t have a clue what she was doing. I knew I didn’t want to pay over $ 600 for a dress for one day I could care less what year it was made or the designers. I told her the style in she placed me in 3 dress that were ugly than found something that was my taste than measured me and told me my dress would be ready no later than August 3, 2014. It’s now august 4th and she didn’t call and tell me it was there and I am getting married in 2 weeks. I was told they tried to contact me but my voicemail was full and that was a lie, I returned there call 3 weeks ago about of my bride maids to state they weren’t going to purchase a dress from them and I ask why she didn’t say my dress was here at the time of the conversation, which in sat in the store for over a month. Now I have paid over $ 800 and still have to pay 90 for altering it because it’s too big. I don’t recommend them to anyone because they will try to make money at any expenses!

I made my first dress appointment at David’s Bridal. I came in with a pretty good idea of what I was looking for. An A-line dress, white, with straps. Not complicated, right? The salesperson who assisted me did not care whatsoever about what I wanted. She just kept trying to force me in to other dresses. At the end of the appointment she told me that if I want to find a simple dress, I’m going to have to pay a lot more and she suggested I go somewhere else. I did, thanks for your advice — I found a dress I love!

The commercials have you to believe that it is a great experience visiting David’s Bridal for your big day. I went with a friend and I have to say that the customer service is lacking when it comes to wedding consultations. The young lady who helped us was slow with getting the gowns & I didn’t feel that«I’m excited to help you for your big day» from her service. The only good thing was my friend found a dress from the list on line favorites list that she had picked previously. This would have been a disaster had she not looked on line prior to visiting the store. Not a place a I would recommend.

When it came to purchasing my wedding gown, I had one thing in mind: budget. Jacob and I got engaged in December and wanted to get married as soon as we could possibly organize it. Don’t worry, I’m not knocked up. We’ve just been dating for 5 years and are anxious to finally plunge and get married. I’ve never been«that» girl. I never planned on getting married. I never thought of what my «perfect» dress would look like. I never organized every meticulous wedding detail down to the most perfect place cards like some girls do. When it came time to pick out my wedding dress, I wasn’t going to hold any grudges against where I looked. I didn’t have a budget of $ 3,000 like some brides might. All I knew is that I wanted a dress that made me feel gorgeous and that wouldn’t break the bank. The first place I looked for a gown was David’s Bridal. My first visit was my most pleasant, and had I written my review after that visit, it would have been five stars. Over time and visits, my opinion of David’s Bridal has gone down. Regardless, my perfect wedding gown was from David’s Bridal and I got it for an amazing price. My first consultant, Jax, was a sweetheart. She pulled tons of dresses for me to try on but didn’t come on strong at all as a salesperson. She didn’t pressure me to buy any accessories and even suggested I get certain wedding items online instead of paying their prices, which was appreciated. My second, third and fourth visits weren’t anything special but I did want to note that when I came in to pick out my bridesmaid dresses, I basically got ignored the entire time. I was given a «consultant» but she didn’t help us at all. She helped us begin our search for gowns then disappeared. She never came back to our fitting rooms, wasn’t available to get different size dresses and didn’t say goodbye when we left. I was completely underwhelmed with her, especially after my experience with Jax on my previous visit. Overall, there are great dresses to be had here but do not come here looking for a top-notch customer service experience.

I came in looking for a dress for my second wedding which will be next May. I was on the Davids Bridal website prior to coming in the store, so I had an idea of what I was looking for. I was greeted at the door, and the lady who greeted me asked me what I was looking for. I explained to her that I had a slight idea of what I might like, but I wasn’t into the traditional«white wedding” — I did that for my first marriage, and it just wasn’t my style. She told me that I was welcome to look around and that if I needed a fitting room to let her know. I looked around for a bit, and didn’t see the dress that I saw online. I asked a sales associate if she might be able to direct me to the dress that I saw online, but she said without a style number she couldn’t(you’re telling me that they don’t have internet at the store and the couldn’t obtain the style number?). I picked out a few other dresses that I liked and asked to try them on. I asked the sales associate who put me in a dressing room if she could look up a dress online for me, and she said she was able to. She told me that she would send someone to my dressing room to assist me as well. I was in the fitting room for 5 minutes, and nobody approached me to see how I was doing or to look up the dress that I wanted online. The lady in the fitting room next to me must have had an appointment because the sales people wouldn’t leave her alone. I put my street clothes back on, and walked out of the store. Nobody asked me if I had found everything okay or followed up with me about the dress I was inquiring about online. I guess if you don’t have an appointment and they know you aren’t shelling out hundreds of dollars for a dress, your business isn’t worth their time. I will not be shopping here for my wedding dress, nor will I recommend this location to any of my friends looking for a special occasion dress.

I came in needing a dress ASAP and of my own picking found a dress that was absolutely stunning. The two downfalls I noted was 1. the women that work there seem eager and helpful but tend to miss the mark on selecting similar items to try out. I was picking simple and they started bringing me prom and princess dresses. 2. The dress sizes are really annoying for someone who has curves/hourglass type figure. I had to go up at least 2 – 4 sizes from my norm for something that would fit. Beyond that it was great. They were very helpful, they offer alterations, and they are very friendly.

I was wary of the nationwide monstrosity that is David’s Bridal, hearing all the criticisms of potential brides being shuffled around like cattle, and pushy saleswomen weilding jewel encrusted tiaras. Does DB’s buy into the idea that a bride is a princess to be fawned over and catered to? Absolutely. They have you stand on a pedestal, for pete’s sake. However, they do have a reliable selection of dresses in a wide variety of styles and if you wait for a sale, you can buy a wedding dress for a reasonable(for wedding values of reasonable, which is to say several times what something is worth) price. The saleswomen are quite obviously coached, so it’s a bit like sitting through the previews before a movie starts as you go through the rah-rah of matching shoes, undergarments, crinolines, tiaras and veils before they take you through the stacks of dresses based on the general style of dress you want. My advice is to just zone out for all the expected give & take — especially the prevailing thought that a bride will experience near-orgasmic feelings of potential matrimonial perfection the minute the taffeta of her chosen dress is donned. Where DB’s actually does a very good job is the bridesmaid dresses — they have dresses that suit a wide variety of figures, and each dress is usually offered in at least 10 colours, so I enjoyed being able to say to 3 very differently shaped bridesmaids«x colour, knee length, pick whatever you like» and have them all find dresses that they felt comfortable in and didn’t have to spend a week’s paycheck on. At the end of the day, I found a well-made dress I liked for a price I could live with, and that’s all I needed from the experience. I will warn brides that in a busy season you could easily attend another wedding and see a woman walking down the aisle in «your dress» so if that matters, you may want to head to one of the independent stores that stocks more unique dresses.

How many of us have thought«I don’t think I could find a dress I loved at David’s Bridal. It’s just not for me»? I, too, was mistaken about the validity of this statement. Just because you can buy a wedding dress for $ 99 doesn’t mean you have to buy a dress that looks like it cost $ 99. I arrived thinking I would check the place out because of obligation, and I left having tried on my favorite, and at $ 650, most inexpensive gown. I’m actually buying this dress and I am going to wear it for my wedding. I am really excited about it. The store is very large and has most sizes of whatever dress you would like to try on. Not only does is have wedding gowns, it has bridesmaid, flower girl, junior bride and party dresses as well. You are given a personal associate who asks what you’re looking for, finds the appropriate dresses, then helps you try them on. She will take photos for you and even show you how things can be hemmed. They have great sales and connections to Men’s Warehouse that can get your groom deals on his tux. They have easy payment plans and are even open until 9 pm so that every bride, no matter what her work schedule, can find a dress. Don’t count out David’s Bridal when you’re dress shopping, it might turn out to be a really good surprise.
