Absolutely delicious! I recommend the Chicken ghallaba with rice and hummus. And don’t forget to dip your bread in their amazing salsa

First of all the food is absolutely amazing when they get it right. I always the same thing during my lunch hour and so many times my order is not right. If they’re not forgetting the chicken for the fattoush they’re forgetting the fattoush for the chicken. I’m not joking when I say the order is not right/missing something 3 of the 5 times a week I order from them. I never call back and complain about my order but had to on a couple different occasions. Both times absolutely nothing was done. The only thing that keeps me coming back is their food. If this keeps up(which I’m sure it will) I’ll have to find a new place to order lunch from.

The atmosphere of the was really nice and had a good warm feeling. I ordered the steak shish kabobs. The waitress started us with salads and fresh from the oven bread. The salad came with a house dressing of oil and lemon. The bread came with two dipping sauces. Both were fantastic. The kabobs came out next with the steak cooked perfect and so tender. Served with a bed of rice and grilled vegetables. Everything was delicious and served in large portions.

I love the food… but I moved to Virginia Beach, VA… I miss LaShish so much! PLEASE please open a restaurant in Virginia Beach, so many restaurants in Virginia Beach try to make food like LaShish, but these restaurants here do not have the authentic taste!

La Shish was always the crème de la crème of Dearborn Arabic food. So it sure was nice to see La Shish back in the game, with new owners who don’t represent restaurant division of Hezbollah. The location is also advantageous, just yards away from the Pantheon gentleman’s club. Although if you’re supposed to wait 1 hour after eating before going swimming, I don’t know how long you ought to wait until you go next door. Anyhow, the food was mostly very good. I enjoyed the falafel, grape leaves, toum, and pita. The majadra was ok, but a bit bland, didn’t come with yogurt on the side, and lacked onions. There are plenty of pink pickled turnips. Service was abominable, like the worst service I’ve had in a very long time. They didn’t have any idea of what was going on, and it was busy. The parking situation is also confusion. You can’t get to the parking lot directly from Michigan Avenue, and I’m not sure how you get in there without cutting through the Italian cultural center lot. But once you’re in, the parking is ample.

This is NOT the original La Shish. I was so excited to go back to this restaurant after it was closed, but after being seated, I started to get suspicious… first of all the the old La Shish was a lot cleaner, second the food was o.k. but not La Shish good. I could not get over the bus boy spraying«bleach» on the tables the smell made me sick to my stomach.

We ordered a plate for 4 carry out, and all we got was $ 60 worth of rice. Their kafta was over cooked from the outside and raw from the inside, same with the meat kabobs burnt from the outside and raw in the inside. Lower your heat and cook it perfect. There is no way this would ever compare to the ORIGINALLA’SHISH. The price is in average with other middle eastern cusine from Dearborn, more generous on the salads, humus, and rice. The meat not so, of your a vegan this is heaven.

The food here is incredible, and that is what I solely wanted to base this review on… but that’s just not the case this time. It has to do with service… it’d be 4 – 5 stars if based on food alone… I only come here for lunch and the door states the open at 10am. When they first reopened, the service was quick. I’d get her at 11am, and be out by 11:25am, packed full of an awesome chicken shawarma sandwich, 3 – 4 warm pillow breads and a small hummous as scrumptious garlic sauce. However, the last«5» times has bot been the case… I waited as I was hoping it would improve. Note: 1 time they had a lunch party, so let’s make it 4 times. The warm pillow bread has arrived at the table approx 5 – 10 minutes after the hummous and garlic sauce. A fork full of hummous just doesn’t do it for me like the pillow bread, just sayin’ Seriously, the service has been that slow… so, in turn, I arrive at 11:00am, leave at 11:50am. It has been so slow as of late, my time doubled. I can’t figure out what happened here as the waiters and waitresses used to be awesome. Now the awesome one is usually working on carryout orders behind the counter… Something has got to give here as their food is incredible… The service, unfortunately, wrecks it for me… :(

One spice stop shop — and that spice is GARLIC and boy oh boy do they serve you garlic like there’s no tomorrow. So if that your palate — garlic on stank you, stank you very much.

This place is awesome! The Chicken Ghallaba is excellent! I can never eat it all in one sitting, so I have a nice portion for dinner the next day. They serve a warm bread, baked fresh in a brick oven with garlic spread and their version of a salsa. I love the garlic spread. Forget watching your carbs today and enjoy the bread. YUM! I took a friend there today and she thoroughly enjoyed it. She will add this to her list of great food with moderate prices.

Well, reluctantly I write this review. I’ve been going to this Lashish location for about 15 years. Last nights service and atmosphere prompted me to write my very first review in history for a restaurant.(probably because Lashish has always been held in such high regard with me) After fasting for 7 days I knew just where I wanted to go to have my first meal. My favorite middle eastern spot has always been Lashsih. I’ve been to countless middle eastern restaurants but none have been close to my favorite.(the café pitas, the Beiruts, the royal kabobs, and café pitas) Ive always known Lashish to have the best bread and garlic, the freshest veggies, and the juiciest deboned chicken. I’ve been a loyal customer through 3 closings and 3 re opening. From the criminal allegations/convictions of 2006 to the reopening of the opening to this boom of any and everybody in the metro/Detroit area making a wrap and calling it a shawarma and from the food not tasting quite the same as the old days afters their re-openings. I’ve continued to be a fan of lashish Last night was the beginning of the end of my love affair with them. I ordered the salmon gallabah, and a friend had the sauteed mushroom shrimp both with rice/veggies. Both seasoned very well, both very tasty. Unfortunately, the service was crap and the restaurant was extremely cold. Our server accidentally spilled a bowl of tomato sauce on my jacket and down my jeans. I’m totally understanding that things like this may happen but what happened afterwards was the issue. My server Sam seemed like a decent kid, sure he wasn’t as quick to complete his serving duties, and less attentive but I overlooked that(as always) because this is one of my favorite restaurants. The manager immediately came over, my friend explained what happened and he offered me 10 bucks for my dry cleaning bill. I explained to to the manager I was wearing a $ 600 dollar jacket and $ 200 jeans.(10 dollars would not have covered my dry cleaning) I expressed to the manager I would at least like my meal to be comped… he refused.(We briefly went back and forth about the matter) I took it as a smack in the face and cordially left. Afterwards I thought about all the years as a customer, skipping my 6th-8th hour classes in high school to head from the east side of Detroit to Dearborn for lunch, my first date there and just the encounters with people in my life. Here in metro Detroit/Detroit with this huge resurgence of restaurants and major chefs relocating/building in this area from all across the world, management should take notice. Its easier now to spend my time and money elsewhere. So that being said I will probably never go back. Too many options in the area and I choose not to spend my money with poor customer service, and inept management who don’t have the ability to recognize loyalty. CATCHMEATCEDARLAND

Our valet at the downtown Detroit Holiday Inn suggested La Shish when we asked for a nice lunch recommendation. So glad we listened. This place has the best hummus, fresh bread, and tabbouleh I’ve yet to experience. I love the clean interior, and the holiday decorations were super charming. Great service. Great menu.

This particular location is not as great as some of the past others(mostly in terms of service but also quality of food). We hardly had the service we hoped for and had to track down the waitress for ordering and refills on drinks. We didn’t get our drinks or water until well after we were done with our bread and appetizers. This was strange to us because the place wasn’t busy. La Shish is known for its small warm pitas and rich garlic spread but ours seemed to be lacking freshness. We were happy with our main lunch dish and the portion sizes are great for the price. In the end, it took us a good 20 plus minutes to get our bill after we asked for it and we ended up asking another waitress to check us out for fear of running into the dinner menu…, Dearborn is a hub for some of the best Middle Eastern food our country has to offer. Due to the slow service, I’ll be frequenting other restaurants in Dearborn in the future. As a side note, they have fantastic holiday and festive decorations throughout the restaurant!

I can’t believe that this place doesn’t have a 5-star review. I visit dearborn very often and I have tried all the top lebanese spots but La shish comes on top. The consistency of the food is amazing. A lot of the other restaurants might have awesome chicken but ok kafta or vice versa but when it comes to La Shish everything is amazing. I highly recommend this place. My only remark would be to ask the server to bring the appetizers first before the full entrée because they tend to bring in everything at the time.

The food wasn’t made fresh when ordered and we waited over 30 minutes for it! The customer service was terrible; the waiter never checked on us, and we had to call her when we needed something. To wait that long, and get horrible food is ridiculous. It wasn’t a busy day so i can imagine what the food & service like on a busy day. This is the first & last time I will be there going, and went with a friend who was also disappointed in the food & service there. I ordered the half deboned chicken with rice & vegetables, and was so hungry to be completely disappointed. Such a waste
