Not fancy or nice. Service is marginal. It is what it is but one helluva dive bar. Really good burger too. St Pauli Girl isn’t struggling with a handful of steins as the name suggests… but Homer and Barney meet a little bit of the star wars bar with Carla from cheers playing the ownership role. I love it here but that’s because it is a dive bar and the only one around the Dearborn legends that could match wits with the buried but remembered Howell’s!

Great times great patrons felt right at home and enjoyed the experience. Don’t leave without some boloney sandwiches! Came 2200 miles and would come back in a heart beat! Make sure to ask a out twister…

Pretty decent dive bar with good selection of draft and bottled beer. Bar maid was very friendly. Wish they had Keno. Food was not good… Just your typical seeped fried food from the freezer from GFS. Overall, a nice local place.

The Biergarten is a dive. If you’re expecting anything different, you’ll be sorely disappointed. Haven’t been in this place in 25 years, but went for a friend’s birthday celebration. This is a local joint. People know each other, the wait staff knows the patrons. Friends ordered the fried bologna sandwich and reported in that it was«old man Dearborn» good. Our service was great, attentive, and friendly. It wasn’t loud and didn’t smell like stale cigarettes. There are darts and a pool table. The dive abides.

I don’t give one star reviews often. This place is the most awful bar I’ve been to in the state of Michigan. The one time I ate there, my cheeseburger was horribly overcooked, the waitress was not apologetic, and the manager didn’t offer to make it right in any way. Other times I was there for drinks with friends, sometimes after work and sometimes for karaōke. The crowd was rude, the DJ was obnoxious, the wait at the bar to get a beer is typically an eternity as the bartender chit chats with the regular customers. «Beer garden»? Hope you like Michelob or Miller Lite. Their selection is awful. Stay away from this place at all costs.

So happy this place reopened! By far my favorite bar in Dearborn. Service is usually good unless you come on a night the bachelor is on then you only get waited on during commercials. Drink specials are outstanding. They offer a $ 1 beer night and their food prices are very reasonable. I always stick with mini tacos, but their burgers are amazing. My favorite shot right now is the apple pie shot. So good!

Usually, when a place is ironically named it’s a pretty bad sign. In The Biergarten’s case, this is the exception that proves the rule. The Biergarten isn’t really a beer place. But it is a great little hole-in-the-wall. On tap, you’ll find all the usual suspects, Bud, Bud, Bud Light, the rare Blue Moon if you’re fancy. But the diner food is good enough to make you forgive this. The best known dish is the fried bologna sandwich, which is a little slice of awesome if you have fond memories of bologna sandwiches as a kid. And still pretty good even if you don’t. It’s a really thick cut of veal bologna cut in half and pan fried, then served with caramelized onions between two slices of toasted rye bread. You can add mustard and/or mayo if that’s your thing. Outside of that, you’ll find a lot of old diner standbys, like reubens and patty melts. All of which are good, but none quite as spectacular as the bologna. As an added bonus, the ceiling tiles are all made of business cards from local shops, many of whom haven’t been in business for 20 years. You really can’t beat that.

MYFAVORITEBAR. IT’S OPEN! Food is fantastic, the crowd there is really cool. Lots of people know each other, and everyone is welcoming. It just reopened last night and it was packed! They didn’t really even anounce it. Says much about the loyalty and popularity of the bar. I’m so glad it’s back and would recommend those in the area to check it out.

This was a total disappointment. Four of us picked this place off Unilocal, none of us live here but it was a central location. After we were seated the waitress explained their coolers went out so they only had one rather warm draft beer, bottled beer was available and cold. We had a few beers and then went to order lunch only to find out some of the menu was not available, again due to cooler problems. My friends had hamburgers(good) and a veal bologna sandwich(unique and good). No french fries available, which I thought they were known for. The young waitress was pleasant and tried to explain the situation. Sadly she should have been instructed to tell us, as soon as we walked in, that there were problems with the coolers, the draft beer, and the menu. Then we would have had a chance to go somewhere else, tow of us are big draft beer fans. This was a failure of management… and no we never did see a manager or anyone else who might have apologized. Now come on folks, no french fries??? They did have onion rings, don’t understand that. The Health Department should take a look at this joint.

Went Here once I dont think I will ever go back. Just not my kind of place, as much as I like going to a bar with no one in it, I usually refrain. Its a great place if you don’t want to have too much fun, and for some reason it is a top nightlife place around the area, I guess thats kinda indicative of the Unilocal demographic. A dumpy little corner bar In No Way A Nightlife Spot, from a former bouncer that worked in the nightlife service industry. Hey they got GoldenTee!

You’d think this place would have a large beer selection, right? Wrong. It doesn’t. Come on! We are MICHIGAN, the BEERSTATE. They didn’t have any Michigan brews on draft, and very few bottles Michigan brews to choose from. I was disappointed. Other than that, it was fine. They had all the basics. The atmosphere is very divey/Michigan-like. If you’re from the midwest or Michigan, you know what I mean.

It’s the Biergarten. I’ve been coming here for years, and I live about 15 miles from Dearborn. Deanna and company know how to run a bar. Lloyd runs a pretty awesome karaōke on Saturdays. Menu is great — try the fried Bologna sandwich. It sounds weird, but trust me. My parents still call this place Misko’s. It’s really annoying.

a perfectly acceptable local watering hole. we just happened here on the way to our friends for a holiday party and needed a bar to meet in a couple hours before the party started. Unilocal came through with exactly what i was looking for. i wanted warm, nice waitresses, and kinda that neighborhood bar feel. the biergarten cam through on all accounts. the name made me think they would have something a little more interesting on tap besides sam adams and newcastle, but i found the beer cold and the waitress assured me that they had a cooler full of other options. once we got to our holiday party our friends told us it was their favorite local dearborn bar and that they prefer it to miller’s love, juston

I’ve only had the cheeseburger and fries, but they’re great! Flavorful, juicy patty(even if it doesn’t come out medium), topped with American and a mild Swiss. The fries have always been steaming hot and crisp, just the way they should be. Excellent meal, fairly priced. The first two times we came here, we were just about the only ones in the place, which is never the most comfortable. We went last night, though, and it was hopping. It was nice to see some life in the place. There was a DJ doing music and karaōke, which was a little loud for me(although we were right next to his little booth), but was entertaining. A couple small negatives: –When busy, the place feels a little cramped. –There was only one waitress. She was friendly and as attentive as she could be, but they could have maybe used another waitress. –It’s a small thing to gripe about, but they don’t stock Stoli. Overall, it’s a great place and I’m positive we’ll keep going back for the burgers.

Lived in Dearborn for 2 years, and this was a diamond in the rough. Living in the shadow of Miller’s Bar, this place goes unnoticed on the drag of Michigan Ave that is Dearborn, MI. We frequented this bar for their daily beer specials and burgers. Its a dive bar and we have never left there unsatisfied. Prefer it to all the other bars in the area, including Miller’s.

Jake and I thought we’d come here after reading the great reviews here on Unilocal. When we arrived, we were the only customers in the entire bar. It was a little awkward because we were expecting some sort of hopping going on in a bar on a Friday night… Weird. There was one bartender/waiter whose eyes were glued to the big screen TVs. I’m surprised he noticed us at all. We got menus and both ordered the same thing: a cheeseburger, medium, with an order of French fries. Jake originally ordered chili, but the guy told us they were out of it. And onion rings. Bummer. Jake and I ordered a couple adult beverages and headed to the pool table. It only cost $.75 to play! Unfortunately, there was no 8 ball, haha, so we kinda improvised. We told the waiter and he came and opened a secret door on the table stand and gave it to us. That was fun. Our food came out mid-game and we paused to eat. The burger was DELICIOUS. It was juicy, well-seasoned and just the right size. And cheap, too… I think it was $ 3.75. The fries were really good, too. Nice and crunchy. Overall, the atmosphere suffered because there was no one there to enjoy it with us… but the food was good and the bill was cheap… Two things I appreciate. Id definitely go back. (They only accept credit card if the bill is over $ 20.)

I’m a tad embarrassed to say that I’ve lived in the Dearborn area for almost 9 years and tonight was my first visit to The Biergarten. What can I say? It’s not one of those places that catches your eye as you’re cruising down Michigan Avenue looking for something to do. In fact, if friends hadn’t asked us to meet them there, the hubs and I would not have gone tonight. But thank God for pushy friends! This is literally the gem of casual dive bars. It looks like one of those places that you think will have nothing but cans of Natty Light, but they have an impressive selection of imported beer and top shelf liquor. I was drinking Sprineapples(I made up the name but it’s Pineapple Skyy Vodka + Sprite). I make them at home and these were just as good. And cheap! Hubs and I ordered 2 dinners, an appetizer, and 4 drinks and it came to $ 30! The food is more than just bar food. They have a nice selection of salads and sandwiches and everything was quite tasty. Our server was also quick and attentive. We even taught her how to correctly pronouce Smithwicks and she expressed her gratitude. The place is so relaxed that anyone from Donald Trump to the ‘Eat Em’ Up Tigers’ guy would feel comfortable. It doesn’t draw attention to itself so I imagine the owners rely more on word of mouth than neon signs. I just got home and I’m ready to go back and hang out!

This is one of my favorite bars ever. I love the easy atmosphere & the family owned feeling of the bar, you don’t have to come here too many times before you are considered family too. Great food, great prices, great service, never a cover charge… all in all, great neighborhood/dive bar. The only thing I don’t care for it Karaōke on Saturday nights but every other night I love the place!
