I have eaten there a few times and have always enjoyed the food and the ambiance. But, today I ordered the fried green tomato sandwich and I didn’t love it. It had a lot of flavor but it was too spicy for me, especially as a lunch item. I’m sure others enjoy the heat so maybe they could mention that or have an asterisk on the menu beside the item.

Good food but… had green fried tomato Benedicts… struggled with front door as it gets stuck wich makes it seem the place is closed for business. Lets also add that it is just a tad bit pretentious and lacking real Southern hospitality…
They did not honor my coupon for dessert, and at almost $ 5 for a french pressed coffee, I rather make a run for the closest Cracker Barrel next time I want try Benedicts around town…
Let’s leave it there…

One of the most awesome places in North Alabama. I haven’t had anything here that I dislike. My favorites are the fried chicken, the bistro burger, and the sirloin over mashed potatoes! They’re biscuits and butter are awesome as well, and if you want something sweet their strawberry cake is uh-​mazing! The employees are always very friendly and they always remember us. Definitely swing by and try it out!

After living on the Biloxi coast for the last 3 years I have been accustomed to shrimp and grits and all kinds of seafood. I have missed the big gulf shrimp and cheese grits until I ate at Albany bistro. Great concept friendly atmosphere and the shrimp and grits were awesome. We will be back for sure. The only complaint we had was that our server was a little slow only because of the lack of help.

Without a doubt one of the best local restaurants around. I never thought about driving to Decatur, but I promise it’s worth the drive from Huntsville. The fried chicken is incredible and the crab dip is delicious. Also tried the shrimp and it was perfect. Yummmm. Drive over I promise you won’t regret it.

I wanted to give them a higher rating but I just couldn’t. We ordered the strawberry goat cheese grilled cheese. Great concept, poorly executed. Stawberries were nice and sweet however the goat cheese was sparse. There was just a skim on the bread. Truly said as we love goat cheese. And the bread, not even grilled.
The potatoes served with it are prebought seasoned potote wedges. The poor dried out pickle was just another disppointment.
I don’t think we will be coming back.

Awkward neighborhood street parking. Nice looking restaurant inside, gives you a good vibe when you walk in. We sat outside weather was nice. Socially awkward waiter kind of killed my experience. I asked what desserts they have because it wasn’t on the plain paper Microsoft word menu and Unilocal said hey get 50% off desserts when I checked in, the waiters response was some mumbled I’m not sure. I had the burger it was pretty tasty. I like the presentation of the burger, with condiments on the side. The potato salad was on point. On the burger I would of liked the bun more than a quarter toasted so bread wouldn’t get soggy. The flavor of the burger was good, they asked how I wanted it, I said medium rare, it was definitely medium or medium well, with a little char taste on some ends. I tasted my friends shrimp and grits (great flavor and taste) & beef stroganoff (great tasting beef and great sauce)
Overall it didn’t really do it for me.

Hands down the best meal I had during my week in Decatur! The pear and cheve salad was so good that I returned the next night for take out & I’m still craving it!
The service was wonderful, my waiter was incredibly knowledgeable & didn’t hesitate to recommend a different dish than I was ordering — and he had a great sense of humor.
If I am back down this way, or anywhere close, I’ll definitely be back & would recommend this charming place to anyone!
Arrive early enough to wander around the neighborhood and admire the beautiful houses.

Had dinner with a party of 8 over the weekend. Atmosphere nice, food was ok/​good, They were out of the soup and the Raviolli entrée I was looking forward to. In several of the comments I read people mentioned dim lighting. They must have had the lights turned up, kind of reminded me of a cafeteria upon arrival. I noticed there was no bartender, so when I ordered a Lemon Basil Martini the waiter said we dont have the ingredients for that I was not surprised… I noticed one of the dishes on the menu had lemon, and another had basil… The dessert menu was ok, not much variety. lots of «cake» I think when we showed up with a group larger than (5) and the gratuity was automatically added in, I thought there was a lack of service we were getting. Don’t get me wrong, the waiter was pleasant, but seemed bothered. I would like to go back, in hopes of a more enjoyable experiance.

We love this restaurant! Everyone is always so pleasant, the atmosphere is whatever you make it: happy, exciting, private, interesting… anything but boring! The menu changes periodically to incorporate seasonal items, locally grown when available. Everything is delicious! You won’t be disappointed!

A great place to have lunch on our way to Nashville via Auburn. I had the salmon BLT and my husband had the meatloaf entrée. We both enjoyed our meals immensely! You can not leave without trying the butter cake with whiskey sauce and vanilla ice cream! Superb!

This is one of my favorite restaurants. It is truly unique, and the food and service are wonderful. The atmosphere is very nice and comfortable. In the nice weather you can sit in a shaded outdoor area where dogs are welcome.

We went here on a cold wet date night and were surprised to find ourselves alone. The music was great and the service was good. Great sweet tea. The salad and lobster bisque were great. The roll that came with the meal was VERY good. The catch of the day wasn’t amazing which is the only thing keeping this review from a 5 star, but we will certainly be going back.

Absolutely the BEST shrimp étouffée I’ve ever had. It was so flavorful with a perfectly seasoned, velvety sauce that literally melts in your mouth. Unfortunately this dish is not on the «main» menu but thankfully was available on the day I came for my first visit. I highly recommend getting it if available.
The atmosphere is classy yet comfortable and the large windows provide a beautiful blanket of natural light.
I can admit that this would not be a place my husband would fancy because of the «non Waffle House» style menu that doesn’t offer a great selection of man food as well as the fact that the portions are small for the price.
But I must also say that even though the portions are not generous it’s the quality that makes it worth every penny so even if you reserve it for a special occasion like National Marshmallow Day you’ll enjoy your meal.
