The staff was nice, but dining here was overall a weird and somewhat gross experience. We pulled in around 7pm on a Friday night and were the only customers in the place. Bad sign, but we decided to be adventurous and go with the flow. After a few moments of awkward standing around, someone barked at us to sit anywhere. No beer list, which is annoying. The waitress was nice but not super professional. The food was pretty gross. I got the falafel and my companion got hot wings. The falafel was pasty, the«salsa» that came on it seemed like it had been sitting around for a month, and the«pita» bread was a stale flatbread type thing. Even the fries were bad. My companion’s hot wings came out in a pool of grease. I definitely will not be coming back.

Sunday at dinner time, Café Brio seems to be the only restaurant in Decatur that operates. And that’s a fine thing, because the food is really good and really filling. My guest and I had the place to ourselves, which was kinda strange, but hey, you don’t go to restaurants to talk with other diners. I’d go back, even it wasn’t a Sunday night.

Slow service due to only two people working. A friend of mine stated that the restaurant/bar offers hookahs. They only had one visible hookah. The coals were not hot enough to produce a good amount of smoke. I believe that the hookah hasn’t been cleaned or reused the tobacco because everyone in the group was either feeling sick or threw up.

I have been a few times and the food is great. Loved the ribeye sandwich. Burgers and tacos were good too. Worth checking out.

I recently moved to the area & this was the first time I have been to café brio. They have karaōke 7 days a week, which is a huge plus for me! We ate before the karaōke started. The owner was gracious enough to bring a sample of the jalapeño cakes and also chips & salsa to our table prior to our meal. The jalapeño cakes with the honey sauce to dip them in were so good! The perfect amount of sweetness from the corn cakes with a little heat from the jalapeño bits. The salsa was fresh made & very flavorful. I ordered the steak quesadillas as well as the pulled pork sliders. The quesadillas were great and the guacamole that went with it was fresh. The sliders were okay, next time I’ll try the cheeseburger sliders. The fries were average and a little cold. My friend ordered the fish tacos & she said they were delish & that the tortilla was perfectly toasted. Plenty of good food that will last for several meals and the prices were good for what we got.($ 5 sliders & fries, hello!). Very large menu. $ 1.50PBR tall cans and $ 2.50 tequila sunrises on a Saturday night was great! The dj/owner was so nice and I was able to sing all night. The crowd was great, very casual & high energy. There’s a huge patio out back which I look forward to eating on next time. Overall the experience was great & I will definitely be back.

Love Café Brio! I know some people experienced inconsistent service when it opened, but management has changed. I’ve eaten there quite a few times, and the food is always good. My husband is a fan of the orange chicken, but I like the habanero chicken — it has a kick! Can’t go wrong with the tacos, either. Free tamale cakes are a nice touch. I hope more Decatur diners will discover this place!

Walked in to a humid combination of grease and musty air. I don’t think the A/C has worked since the last tenants. The service was lacking and the food was pretty pricey for the quality. They served stale greasy colored tortilla chips(they had to have thrown purchased chips in fryer) with salsa when we came in. I had a fish wrap and ended getting sick later that night from the grease. My wife had a southwest salad that had a TINY amount of dressing and was served on a plate that was virtually impossible to eat from. First and last trip to this place.

Yep, definitely an odor at the front door mentioned in a previous review. But over looking the greasy menus and the waitress that can’t open a bottle of wine and two different size wine glasses that were cloudy. Food was good and we had a great time. We split the tamale corn cakes and falafel, both were tasty. Reasonable restaurant in a bad building/location. We tried to remember all the failed restaurants and bars that have been this location. Pizza, Italian, Irish pub, Go with low expectation and enjoy the food and company.

Me and my companion went into Café Brio for lunch and the first thing that caught our attention was how different the inside of the restaurant is compared to the outside. We waited to try Café Brio, because we had not heard anything, but it turned out to be a cozy atmosphere that feels like someone really spent money remodeling. The food was delicious, the service was great, and we would go back. All I can say is that they have a different menu, and the food was fresh and delicious. I had the Shrimp BLT and I highly recommend it. Go and try this place out if you are bored with other options in Decatur.

It was a hurry up and get out of here experience on a Thursday night. They were open until 9p but it was clear that they wanted us out of there to close an hour early. My friend and I both had cocktails and the steak dinner. Both were good flavors. But that was it… no refill on my water, no offer of an afterdinner drink, no offer of dessert or coffee. I guess I will go back to the restuarants downtown Decatur. I so wanted to recommend Brio as I used to go to the one in Springfield.
