One of the most unique restaurants in town. Beer selection is always very good and their take on traditional Irish pub food is great!

We love Doherty’s! The beer selection is always good, and the beer list has great descriptions of the beers available that day. The staff is knowledgeable about the beers, and they never mind letting us sample first, if we are unsure whether we will like a certain beer. The red pepper gouda soup is a must, along with the chicken philly sandwich! The buffalo chicken horseshoe is awesome!!! Great staff, very friendly and attentive.

Excellent beer selection and a number of quality bar type foods. The red pepper soup is a life-changer and the horseshoes are some of the best outside the Springfield area. Only downside is a staff that doesn’t hide its contempt for customers. Twice it has taken more than 20 minutes to get a food menu despite minimal patrons at the place. Owner is a good person though, so perhaps just an inability to hire staff.

Damn good food… but DEF5 stars for the view the entire meal Seriously though, the Irish nachos and they were quite good, money wise prolly go with the half order but delicious in my opinion.

My favorite bar in town. Not my favorite restaurant, but nice options. And a great place to host events.

Popped in for a quick bite to eat over my lunch hour. Staff was incredibly speedy and respectful of my time crunch. Ordered the Dublin wrap — very good. Enjoyable environment and super friendly staff!

I almost always get the Red Pepper Soup when I go to Doherty’s. Their horseshoes are good and they will make them to order. Everything I have tried I have been happy with and the servers have always been attentive. They have a good variety of drinks and seem to have a steady stream of customers whenever I stop in.

Traditional Irish pub, and that’s a good thing! It closes fairly early for a city bar, so check the hours before you head here. Other than that, Doherty’s has a solid menu and a good selection of draft craft beer! If I’m in Decatur and I’m not feeling too adventurous(JOM), I’ll swing by Doherty’s for something familiar yet substantial.

Waited 2 hours to be seated, waitress consistently ignored us to the point that we had to get our own drinks. With that being said, however, food was good and the beer selection is excellent.

Always the best craft beers on tap. Open-faced ribeye sandwich and chicken wings are two of my favorites from Doherty’s. Highly recommend for a low-key relaxed meal in an Irish restaurant atmosphere.

I came here a couple of weeks ago for a trivia night event. We were in the banquet room with a group of friends. The service was ok, but since it was a busy event, I was ok with that. The food was delicious; however, I was slightly upset when I started looking through my receipts at the end of the week. I had not realized that the waitress had added a gratuity to the bill so I ended up tipping over 50%. As a former waitress, I know one should always let the patron know when gratuity was added; she did not. I know I should have looked more closely at my bill, but I also feel she should have been forthcoming and let me know that the tip was already included when I added a considerable tip.

Can’t believe this place hasn’t been reviewed. I’ve eaten here many times over the past year. Can’t go wrong with the red pepper soup or escargot for apps. For lunch I’ve been chomping down on fish and chips or the reuben. The reuben rocks. They char up a pretty good steak for dinner as well. It’s a converted bowling alley, has a full bar, and all the locals know the place. But for those of you that may be passing through, you need to give this place a shot. The food is good, the service is good, and the people are really nice. Yep, I’m biased because I grew up in Decatur, but those of you that have seen my reviews know, I wouldn’t jock the place just for that reason.
