Elite Event: Excursion To India at Chai Pani

Great event. Well run and great to see so many new people.
They ran out of the sage wisdom cocktail, but I may have had something to do with that. :/​
They offered about 5 different food choices and they were all delicious. I am a sucker for the Kale Pakoras.
Parking was alright, free street parking after 6 on Ponce.
Ben G did a great job and Chai Pani did not disappoint.
We will be back again and again

I may have overdone it again — stomach is very stretched at the moment but more importantly very happy :) Wow so much food. Loved the setup with the different food stations in every corner and then the middle table with jars of their delicious homemade green chutney to take home! I’d been to Chai Pani a few times before and I’m a huge fan — the different combination of textures and sweet and spicy flavors make my mouth very happy too.
Tonight we were treated to the much raved about and addicting Kale Pakoras (sure it’s fried but it has kale!), the Vada Pav (spicy potato dumplings that were to die for — loved the sweet & spicy sauces … even the buns were good too), the Sloppy Jai (like sloppy joe’s but w/​lamb — spicy & delicious!), Uttapam (like pancakes made w/​rice & lentil batter) and their Saturday night special puri made-​to-​order! The event staff were awesome too — great job explaining their dishes. Kudos also to the bartender who fixed a special non-​alcoholic drink for me made w/​lavender, ginger, lemon & limes (I think) — refreshing for a hot weather day like today.
Food was so good that my +1 and I went over to the restaurant side to order a couple more dishes, our favorite «Sev Potato Dahi Puri» and the «Bhel Puri». Both delicious but realized when I got home that I really ate way too much. And the food coma may be partly to blame for forgetting our precious green chutneys at the restaurant. Thankfully they answered my tweet and are saving the jars for us :) Thank you again Chai Pani for the wonderful event. And huge thank you to Ben G and his crew JJ and Keaton for making us always feel special. Loved the new Unilocal lanyards and the creative passport name badges! Also great idea to have Angela M, Kristin B and Daniel B talk about the UYE events since many of the attendees were new to Unilocal.Thanks again!
