This is not a gay bar. There are no gay bars in Decatur. Ken’s a frame is somewhat a gay bar.

I was here once, and unfortunately it was my first and Last time. There were 6 people here. Me, my friend, the bartender and her 3 friends. The service was just not there. The one drink she finally decided to make for us tasted like sewer water. I couldn’t even drink it all, which was a shame, because it was NOT cheap. I’m pretty sure she didn’t even know we left.

I have been here three times in the past month(2 Friday nights and 1 Saturday night) and something must have changed since the previous review from November 2012 because this is so *not* a gay bar. There is nothing here that resembles a gay bar, including the patrons who seem to be a mix of bikers and low middle income. The TVs are tuned to ESPN, the music is 70’s rock with a small scattering of 80’s hits. There is no dance floor and no colorful décor; the tables and chairs are in good repair and comfortable. The staff is friendly with good drink prices and mixes. As far as I can tell there is no food service. There is a well-lit public parking lot across the street and limited parking in back. The front door, for some reason, is kept locked in favor of the rear entrance, but there are no signs are posted to indicate how to get in. As a neighborhood bar it’s probably OK, but I won’t be going out of my way to patronize it.

Wasn’t expecting much from a gay bar outside Chicago but I was wrong. My partner and I stopped there to grab a quick drink. The price and atmosphere were perfect. They had wonderful bartenders, great music and awesome drinks(you have to try the pineapple upside down cake martini… excellent!). The place is so good in fact that next time we head down there we will stay close by instead of passing through.
