Green Lantern Steak House & Lounge

Was looking forward to a steak but Monday night was Mexican night. Had a delicious tamale.

The new and improved Green Lantern is a nice update from the old one. No longer is it dark and a little dingy but it is now bright and fresh. We went here to celebrate my Mom’s 83^rd birthday on a Saturday night.
First off, our waitress Sandy, was the best. Quick with her service, always on top of things, especially water refills.
I ordered their specialty appetizer, onion rings, and for $ 7 there were enough to feed a small army. You could tell they were fresh made and not frozen with a good batter, all I added was a little salt and they were good to go. As my main course I had the steak tips with fries. The steak was very tender and not over cooked, the only complaint would be that I’m not sure there was any seasoning added. These would be great if they would marinate them and then season the batter a bit. The fries were basic fries, probably frozen not fresh cut. The Texas toast was perfectly toasted with just enough butter and garlic.
All in all I have to say that I was impressed with the new Green Lantern. I didn’t make it in to the bar area but it looked inviting and accommodating to a large crowd. Nice looking fireplace in there. If you go on a Friday or Saturday make sure you ask for Sandy to be your server.

Stopped in here as we were looking for a local place to eat. The steakhouse is the nicest building in town and when we arrived. We had to put our name on the waiting list as it was the day before mother’s day.
This place was a very central restaurant/​meeting place for the town. The interior was barren, but it served a purpose to allow the restaurant to be turned into a reception hall. My wife and I both ordered steak and when hers came out tasting like a horrible piece of meat, they took it off our bill without hesitation. My steak was fantastic, very well cooked and a very fresh piece of meat. Her steak was a Filet Minion, had come from a new supplier and our fabulous waitress indicated it was not the first unhappy experience with the supplier.
If you’re looking for a good meal, stop in.
