Stopped in for lunch during a lull, and we had some of the most authentic and thoughtful food. Each item truly exemplified the history and culture of its roots. The lamb was tender yet crisp on the exterior. The babaganoush was smokey and creamy. The hummus bright and deep. The rice had a unique flavor profile with hints of clove and cinnamon. We were also able to converse with Tony the owner, whose passion for food became apparent with not only his offerings but also his dialogue. Will definitely return!

We always enjoy coming here! Great vegetarian and some vegan options too. Best falafel in town!

Great neighborhood find in the Oakhurst area of Decatur. I had a sampler vegetarian plate that was very good. Everything was spot on, especially the falafal. I wasn’t crazy about the stuffed grape leaves but it was a texture issue and the flavor was good. The owner is friendly and helpful, and runs a clean restaurant. Plenty of parking spaces, but be careful backing out into the traffic on College Avenue. You can also park across the street in a gravel area, and street parking is available in neighborhoods around the restaurant. I will definitely go back.

I tried their lamb dish, which apparently was highly recommended, but it ended up tasting like overcooked lamb in tomato sauce. Canned tomato sauce. This could merely be my ignorance of Lebanese, but I feel like of the Lebanese I’ve had, this just wasn’t right. I’ll come back and give it another shot though.

Avoid this place at all costs. Mediocre(at best) food, rude waitress and an ambience that has all the charm of a lunch counter at the airport. Regardless of what you order, the predominant taste is one of SALT.(When I complained about it, aforementioned rude waitress proceeded to argue with me!) The pita bread was ice cold and stale — a Lebanese restaurant that can’t get pita bread right, REALLY? The best thing I can say about this place is that it is cheap. So if you prefer price over quality and don’t mind surly, rude waitpersons and barely edible food, then this place is for you.

This was my second time dining at Lawrence’s Café. My first time was much more pleasant. The food is delicious: tender meat, flavorful rice, zesty tzatziki. My reason for giving it only three stars: the service. The manager seemed to have a really bad attitude. At first, I thought maybe he was just having a bad day, so I tried to overlook it. I wanted to order the 4 pieces of beef kabobs with rice from the kid’s menu because I wasn’t hungry enough to finish the full portion. He flat out said no. I gave him a puzzled look, to which he responded«I’ll give you the side of beef only. It won’t come with rice.» I didn’t quite understand that. If the item came with rice and meat, why wouldn’t he serve it to me as-is? Or he could’ve just said that the kids menu is only for children under a certain age. Just to avoid any confrontation, I went ahead and ordered the full portion(which only came with 6 pieces of beef kabobs and some cheap filler items such as bread and salad for an extra $ 4). Every time he came to our table, I sensed an attitude. Though the restaurant wasn’t busy at all, he never kept an eye on my completely empty water glass. I had to ask him to fill it.

Dinner last night was delicious as usual. Such a wonderful affordable restaurant. I love the falafels, the baba ghanoush, and the baklava! I’m having leftovers for lunch today!

I absolutely love this place. It is the freshest and tastiest Mediterranean food in Atlanta. I normally order the Greek salad and add gyro meat. The freshness is unbeatable. The owner/chef is very friendly and greets us upon our arrival and normally stops by our table to say hello and make sure we are enjoying everything. I recommend Lawrence’s Café often to those looking for a delicious and healthy food option while in the Decatur area. Another bonus is that street parking surrounds the building and is one of the few places in Decatur where you do not have to pay to park.

Forgettable food. While Colbeh is so close by there is no way we would go back here. Very aged and uninspired food doesn’t get my attention. When you walk in it depresses you. You got to be more creative and spice up the food and environment in Decatur.

Living in the neighborhood we were excited about having an established Lebanese operator open up. We went recently after giving them a few months to get their sea legs. Hummus and falafel were good, shawarma was a little uninspired.

Very flavorful and good service. Some dishes are on the pricey side(over $ 20), but others are priced well. Super cheap lunch specials. $ 25 for a huge 2 person meal with grape leaves, lamb, beef, chicken and falafel. Definitely go!

Love this place! Especially the tabouli, falafel, and babaganoush. Simple set up inside, but the service is nice, food comes out fast, and everything was yummy. Portions were good for the price and place is kid friendly.

I had to rave about the hot fava beans and garlic over hummus served with radish salad Excellent food! I got my food to go, but the restaurant seems empty with lots of seating

Lawrence’s Café is our go-to place when we’ve had a long day at work and don’t feel like cooking. The service is great, as is the beer selection, and the food is yummy and well-priced. The owner, Tony, is often there and can be counted on for entertaining conversation if you sit at the bar. MUSTTRY the baba ghanoush: it’s so smoky and delicious! If you like flavor explosions, be sure to ask for the spicy sauce and the garlic butter; you won’t regret either one.

We love this place. The food is delicious — we especially love the baba ganoush! They are always welcoming and the service is wonderful. Surprisingly good beer and wine selection! We always look for good falafel and since moving to Atlanta 1 year ago, Lawrence’s is the best we’ve found. Highly recommend trying them out!

Yes! This is the real deal. I moved here to Atlanta from a city with great Lebanese food and missed it so much. The food is amazing, consistent and service is friendly and efficient. They have everything I miss except(owner, I hope you’re reading :)) kibbeh nayyeh. Other than that it’s perfect. Love it!

Tony, the owner, is awesome! He greets me with a handshake if he’s around and is just a great guy. The rest of the staff there is welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Their food is spectacular. I’ve not tried the meats yet, which I’ve heard are delicious. I’ve have the falafel wrap a few times, a few orders of hummus, and the Tony’s Special off of the vegetarian section; I’m not vegetarian though! I asked if their grape leaves had meat, and they typically don’t, but they did have some with meat that day, which were fantastic. One of the best surprises was a very chilled, ice-cold beer. While they don’t have beers on tap, they keep their beers damn cold, and they rotate them so that they’re consistent in temperature. The Paulaner Hefeweizen is the bomb. They’re pretty busy on a Friday night; we got in at just the right time, and then there might have been a short wait as we were leaving. This is a total neighborhood gem. If you’ve not tried it yet, GO! Cheers.

Had dinner here last night for the first time. It was just… ok. I suppose my lack of enthusiasm has a lot to do with the fact that I went in hoping it would measure up to some Mediterranean joints I left behind in Austin(Mediterranean Chef Café and Arpeggio Grill). It didn’t. The menu seems appealing enough. There are plenty of options, both meaty and vegetarian, so you have options. Started off the meal with some pita and hummus. The hummus didn’t really have much flavor to it, and the«full-size» portion was much smaller than what I was expecting, so I imagine the«half-size» is tiny. For the entrée, I had some meat shawarma(served atop more hummus) with a side of tabouli and some red kidney beans and rice. While the meat shawarma tasted alright, I kept biting into bits of fat, so that killed it for me. The red kidney beans, described on the menu as «Cooked in garlic, olive oil, tomato sauce, and seasoned», tasted like they had come out of a can and hadn’t been seasoned much at all. Highlights of the meal were the tabouli and the garlic butter served with the pita and hummus. I’m not even a fan of tabouli or butter, but these were the only items that had any sort of noticeable flavor to it. I’ll try something different if I end up there again, just to be through.

We have dined in for dinner a few times and enjoyed it. However, we decided to go the take-out route the other night and were very disappointed. Small portions, flavorless rice, thin yogurt, tiny desiccated stuffed grape leaves. And the kid’s meals — 3 small(roughly 2 bites each) pieces of chicken and a handful of fries for $ 7.50. It was put in a small plastic clamshell, so that should give you a sense for the size of the serving. Because I love their baba ganoush, I will give them another try and DINEIN this time. If it’s a similar experience to our last one, we probably won’t be back — especially with Yalla at Krog Street Market only slightly farther away.

The past 4 – 5 months have been littered with meals from Lawrence’s and I honestly can’t imagine a more perfect neighborhood restaurant which happens some of my favorite Lebanese cuisine. We became regulars really quickly and Tony, owner, started to recognize our fanaticism pretty easily and we recently had a great conversation with him. Him and his entire staff are always so friendly, welcoming, and a joy to be around. We’ve come to absolutely adore the falafel and tabbouleh from Lawrence’s. An appetizer portion of falafel comes with six hushpuppy-sized portions and the tabbouleh is easy enough to share between two people. For two vegetarians, it’s a perfect entrée. Also, add in a bit of hummus and pita and you’re made in the shade. Easily one of our favorite meals for two for an early dinner. Also, on a cold or rainy day, the lentil soup is a perfect fix for your chilly bones. Earthy flavors, hearty delivery, and works great spoonful by spoonful or heartily sopped up with pita or falafel remainder. I get it every time. I’m so happy to have a place like Lawrence’s in the hood. I may not be of Lebanese descent, but this is definitely comfort food for me.

Nice space, good food and convenient(to me). I like it, even though it might be a tad pricey. Gyro platter was a step up from the last I’d had and I’d liked the other place, too. Tasty meat, good rice and a decent side salad. Pita bread was a little tough but still okay. And they have a good beer list. Might have to drop in for dinner. The only distraction might be the acoustics. While it wasn’t loud from the usual suspect that bothers me(music), the sound from the guy restacking dishes penetrated my brain almost to the point of madness. I think they have an amphitheater effect at the prep area. I’m overly sensitive, so it probably doesn’t bother anyone else.

Definitely enjoyed our dinner at Lawrences café, the lentil soup was great along with the lamb on the Sultans feast which was my favorite. The portions aren’t overly large but I think they are just about right for what they are charging. Parking is limited so keep that in mind if you visit on a busy night.

Serves me right for trying to eat healthy… I would have been way happier with one of Revolution’s doughnuts. First of all, the portions… I ordered chicken kabob, with salad, hummus and pita, which costs over $ 10. I got one measly pita that was dry and inedible, a handful of lettuce and a couple bits of tomato, a small spoon of hummus, and what looked to be a grilled chicken breast. What I should have received was a nice warm soft pita, generous salad, something that resembles a chicken kabob, and a good bit of hummus since I had forgone the side of rice for the hummus. This isn’t nearly enough to fill my stomach for lunch, much less a full dinner. Only good thing were the bits of tomato… wish I had more of it. Another Unilocaler was right… this type of food is readily available for cheaper and healthier portions elsewhere. Shame, given the proximity of this place to my home.
