Tried this salon for the first time recently and I had a great experience! Tavia was my stylist and she gave me one hell of a shampoo/head massage. She was very friendly and answered all of my random questions. I will definitely be returning.

This was such a huge disappointment. And I never leave negative comments but this service was THATBAD. The young beautician(whom I don’t think was certified) had an attitude the moment I walked in the door. Wait, actually — I got a red flag when I called to make an appointment and the receptionist/young beautician who answered sounded annoyed. But I could tell she was young(and a lot of young people have attitudes) so I still went. My appointment begins, I have several photos of exactly the style I want, she starts doing my hair and it’s the exact opposite. I’m pretty mad at this point because she combed my hair DRY(I have natural hair — it’s so important to comb our hair wet) then she unfortunately lied and told me NO hair came out when I asked and then later snuck a huge chunk of my hair in the trash can. She didn’t rinse my hair with lukewarm or cool water after my conditioner(Which has almost become a golden rule for natural hair care) and I asked her over 7 times(not exaggerating) to put some type of moisture on my hair before blow drying it. She refused — saying it was going to cause smoke in the salon. This is a hair salon!!! There will be smoke! My hair needs moisture before heat to avoid heat damage. Well turns out, they had no moisture for natural hair and could only use a loc’ing gel. Wow, why advertise services for natural hair on your website if you’re not skilled at doing them! During this time, an older lady walks in on her phone, with an attitude and plops some products down on the counter. All I’m thinking is — «Wow, she’s not a very good business woman, so unprofessional.» WAIT I forgot — the shop faintly smells like marijuana the second you walk in. Okay back to the review– WELLTURNSOUT — that rude lady was the Owner!!! Ha! So I’m sitting in the chair, after politely asking the young woman to remove my hairstyle and please add moisture to my hair. She procreds to spray ONESPRITZOFSHEENOIL onto my hair and then says«I told you! I put oil on it!» I respond, «correct me if I’m wrong, but my hair is dry and you have only sprayed that spray bottle twice of SHEENOIL on my hair. Is that correct» «yes» she responds. I take a deep breath, wait for her to finish taking out what she did wrong, then say politely that I’m just going to pay for what I’ve gotten done and leave. So NOW the owner — who is sitting in the chair next to me DOINGHEROWNHAIR, ignoring the entire situation, perks up(after I mentioned leaving) and says«what’s the problem?» Crazy. The owner then gets up, sees the picture — starts the style right then hands it back to the woman doing it previously. The woman says«I don’t want to do this anymore.» IMNOTKIDDING. So, stupid me — I stay — because I had an event to go to that night– and had already been in the chair 3 hours. I guess she changes her mind and decides to finish my hairstyle. As she’s braiding up my hair — I tell her three times that ITSTOOTIGHT — can you loosen it please? She asks EVERYTIME — «I mean, is it excruciatingly tight? I don’t want to take the braid back out, I already tied the knot in the string.» That was her response all three times. I was mad Yall. And to top it off — yeah there’s more — when I checked out, the young receptionist decides to tell me there was a 5% fee on all card charges. That’s something you say in the beginning OR have a sign. There was neither. Stay away from this place. I’ve passed by it over 100 times growing up so proud of this black owned business sticking it out and finally decided to try it. Black people — we have GOTTODOBETTER with the business in our communities!!! Locs for Life– I’m rooting for Yall — but PLEASE get it together. This style costs $ 165! Way too much for some customer service and quality of work that you and I both know we’re worth $ 0! Who cares if you offered me wine!!! DOBETTER! No one wants to return to a shop where everyone has an attitude — even the high school football coach who came in noticed it and said something after he felt like he was asking too much by requesting to see some photos of work you’ve done. I believe this place survives off of first time walk ins, and maybe I walked in on the wrong day — but don’t take a chance. There are so many other natural hair salons who do higher quality of work, charge less and who have excellent customer service! Try Loop Hair Salon, Adells Natural Hair and Replenish Salon. You won’t go wrong — our hair is our crown! We’ve got to take care of it! :)

Go else where. They trick you with the prices towards the end. Why wouldn’t you tell your client the price if there is a price associated with it. I will not be returning. It is to many loc stylists in Atlanta and Decatur that are not slick with them. Book some where else. Owner is slick with adding prices at the end of your appointment.

Went to get conrows done. Had my hair done by Jannah. Horrible job. After getting my hair done there its so bad i’ve had to hide the conrows under hats and headwraps. Please if you are getting conrows done go somewhere else.

this is the salon you need to go to if your hair is natural. I spent a few hours there and service was fast and professional. I am very happy with the service provided, and you will be satisfied as well. this is now the only place I will go to have anyone work on my dreads
