Far and away the best mexican place to eat in Decatur. Make sure to give their lengua a try — it is amazingly tender and flavorful. The carnitas are also great. I actually havent had anything i didnt really enjoy at La Perlita. If you are looking for that legit mexican food with nice warm corn tortillas, and none of those garbage flour ones, and some of the best horchata — La Perlita is where it’s at.

Went with a group from work and ordered a few tortas and tacos. Mexican music filled the room with brightly colored chairs. However, The tacos and tortas weren’t completely filled with meat and were a little small on portion size. Service was good but not great. La perlita is a cheap option for a quick bite to eat for lunch.

This is the only AUTHENTIC TAQUERIA in Decatur. If you are looking for great tacos and non of that taco-​bell B.S. You need to get here and eat some great food from here.
And it’s so convenient for me since it’s just across the street from where I work. It has just about everything you are looking for in a Taqueria, Lengua, Tripa, Al Pastor etc. And Menudo on weekends! 2 corn tortillas, meat, onions and cilantro, lime and hot salsa. That’s is a perfect combination.
This place is so different from every other Mexican joint in Decatur that people didn’t realize that you are supposed to use 2 corn tortillas for your tacos!!!

I’ve always wanted to try this place, and was pleasantly surprised by its fresh authentic flavors for a great price! I ordered the chalupa with chorizo as the meat. It was a fresh thick corn tortilla, split and filled with top quality chorizo without being drenched in grease like some places. Topped off with cilantro and washed down with some Horchata, it was a win! My friend ordered the chicken burrito and a bottle of pop. It was pretty big, and his plate was cleaned! Maria was a great attentive server, chips and salsa were served quickly, as was the food. All for around $ 11 with drinks! Definitely will be back!

Do not come here (you will take my seat!)! Best Mexican in Decatur: period. None of that sour cream and cheese covered garbage that they feed you Wetto’s. Real central Mexican cuisine.
