This was our first time at the Good Times Grill. We had been to the restaurant that previously occupied the space a couple times when in town for a festival at Luther College, and we’re disappointed when that place closed due to its proximity to the college. The décor is certainly less«loud» than its predecessor, the Americana Grill, which featured nostalgic Americana memorabilia on the walls and tables. In fact, the only décor to speak of were a few animal mounts near the game room. There are several EVa throughout the restaurant, which had football playoff games going when we were there. We were seated right away. The waitress was not unpleasant, but not terribly welcoming at first. The menu provided a good selection of mostly burgers, sandwiches, wraps and salads. There were also a couple entered available(I believe they were prime rib, Cod, and a fettucini alfredo). There were also several appetizers to choose from… We opted for the«build your own nachos», on which you started with a base consisting of either tortilla chips or waffle fries for $ 6.99. Then you chose one of three meats(included in base price); seasoned beef, smoked pulled Turkey or pulled pork(we opted for the pulled pork). Then for $.60 each, you could add toppings, such as different kinds of cheese, lettuce, salsa, olives etc. The plate of «nachos» was quite large, definitely enough to share between 3 people. The salsa was quite chunky, a little too much to serve as a dip(it came in a cup), but very clearly fresh made and with good flavor. I opted for the«Big Dave’s roast beef sandwich» and was not disappointed. It was a thick slab of very very tender roast beef, topped with mushrooms, onions and cheese and served with au jus. It was absolutely delicious! The homemade coleslaw was also quite good. My dining companion chose the portabella mushroom burger, which came with both the huge portabella cap and a hamburger patty, and was reported to be delicious! Others in our group got the boneless chicken wings(which are quite large), one with the BBQ sauce and the other with the Jalapeño Pineapple sauce. Everyone in out group was pleased with their meal, and the cost was quite reasonable(burgers and sandwiches in the $ 10 range, appetizers in the $ 4 – 8 range). We will most certainly come back again when in town.

They have pretty good food, a division friendly staff. But getting food is very slow!

Incredibly slow service. I tried to give our order when the waiter dropped off our appetizers but he left until we were WELL done. Same to get our bill and again to actually pay. Very confusing. Only saving grace is that the food is phenomenal.

Came over for Sunday lunch on the recommendation of a nearby merchant. We were here from out of town and always like to get local opinions of where to go. Nice place and we thought the entrance was quite hidden and we finally found it inside an office building. Sunday afternoon in mid May found it quite empty and the place appeared to be well-staffed. We were greeted at the door pretty quickly and taken to our table. Service was not as great as the food. Chicken was flavorful and we loved the ciabatta bread and sweet fries. 3 stars.

I like coming here for lunch and love the Caesar Salad, I have them blacken the chicken and it’s really good. They have 20+ beers on tap. Chicken wings are also really good here too, good size and original flavors! Good service evertyime I have came.

This place recently opened and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The service was good and my meal was very good. I had lunch. The burger was 1 pound and it was so good that I was able to eat the whole thing even though I was full by the time I ate ¾ of it. I left stuffed. Normally, I do not order restaurant fries because they are very good. These were very good. I noticed a lot on Mninnesota plates in the parking lot. They have a restuarant in Caledonia so I am assuming those customers are fans of that establishment and decided to try this version. They don’t seem to advertise yet. I hope they can stick around because Decorah needs a place like this. Once word gets around town how good this place is, I think they will do alright. I would choose this place over the place that serves peanut butter burgers everytime…
