Not your usual B&B. In my case, I checked in by myself… My room had my name on it. The owners work at a nearby bistro… So I only saw them the morning right before I left. The room was quite cozy… No shower though. The bed was firm but comfortable. I had the smaller«suite» upstairs. TV and Wi-Fi are available. No breakfast was offered… so instead I went to a local coffeehouse. Downgraded one star for no breakfast… Not a comfortable situation for me to ask. They did recommend the coffeehouse in town though… So I guess that is normal? Very friendly three legged cat. I recommend this place… Very relaxing!

Love, love, loved the Inn and the town of Decorah! Palisades was an awesome getaway for us! It is dog friendly too! Janie the owner has a gift for replicating the comforts of home! She uses organic products in the Inn and welcomed us with delicious Prairie Breeze Iowa cheese, Rosemary crackers, olive variety and coffee with organic half and half! The bed was absolutely comfy! It was like being at home without having all the chores you need to be doing hanging over your head! Thank you Palisades Inn!

I can’t say enough about how wonderful it is to stay here. This is a fully contained apartment(full kitchen and bath with a combined bedroom/living room area). It’s very spacious and so comfortably decorated. The queen bed is the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. What’s so wonderful too about this Inn is that is is just on the outskirts of town in a beautiful setting with acres and acres of beautiful trees, grounds, trails. In the summer, the flowers are so abundant. The owners of the Inn also own a delicious gourmet bistro and wine bar in town called La Rana Bistro(see La Rana Bistro review as well) but I just have to repeat herein that Decorah, IA is a hidden gem of a getaway town. It has so much going on there — Luther College, a wonderful Co-op Grocery, Local Arts shops, an extensive bike trail that goes around the entire perimeter of town, bike shops, coffee shops, and more. It’s only 2−½ hours from the Twin Cities.
