If I could access this store on a regular basis, I would love to browse it often. Simply put, I don’t get to the area as much as I would like. I love the cool variety of gift items and décor. Every item is carefully placed in the store and for sale. All pieces have been hand picked — lots of time, thought and style went into the buying efforts. This is evident from the first moment you walk in — the entire layout is funky, eclectic and fresh. My last visit there, I purchased some body lotion that I love, love, love. Great brands, good items and terrific value. I found the staff to be friendly, informative & appreciative of me being there.

I found this shop because my daughter was playing hockey nearby. Agree that the staff is a bit indifferent. I also have some art training and gallery experience and agree that the original art sold there is marked up beyond what it should be. A sweater I bought there unravelled a bit too quickly. Overall an oasis woth visiting not far from the automile. I was fortunate to be in Dedham this past week and sought this shop out again on a cold rainy day. I found a really fun lopsided huge ceramic mug for $ 16. A really unique felted rug was on sale for $ 30 and I nearly indulged but hesitated when I thought of what my dog could do to it.

I loved this store. The only reason for 4 stars is that their hours are ridiculous and do not match their website. They are open something like 11 – 5 weekdays and 10 – 5 on Saturday. Anyone who works a day job can basically only go there on a Saturday which is rather inconvenient. I disagree with reviews that they are overpriced. I found many items under 50 dollars and the luxury items are just that, luxury. Gorgeous cashmere scarves, gorgeous glassware, and home décor. I love the idea and how it is set up. I just wish they would be open normal hours. I also was not pleased that they held double my purchase on my debit card for 3 days. I don’t think that is a fair business practice.

I felt kind of guilty for seeking this place out(a friend who lives nearby recommended it) in the first place, since I’ve been trying to economize lately. And having read some of the earlier reviews, I was prepared for this place to sell $ 200 scarves and candles. That being said, Nest does indeed sell high-end merch like jewelry. It would not be out of place in the South End. The walls were full of art from a local photographer that was amazing, but I don’t have $ 325 to drop on a 24×8 inch panel right now. It’s definitely one of the best-smelling stores I have ever been to, but the most expensive candle was $ 48, not two bills. However, there was a pretty sizeable selection of «reasonably priced» items, like $ 24 scarves, wine racks on sale, little foodstuff items, hair accessories. I ended up picking up two $ 12 leather-and-studded headbands which were cool. It’s definitely the kind of place where you’re either shopping for yourself or a woman whose taste you know really, really well. Because you’re dealing with a home store with an independently-curated selection of stuff, the gifts aren’t safely generic like Pottery Barn or Williams-Sonoma – I hope that makes sense. I really have a bias against indifferent customer service. So the only serious ding was that the woman behind the counter basically did not acknowledge or speak to me until I asked if I could put the headbands at the register while I shopped some more – she was sweet as could be and chatty after that. There was only one other customer in the store, who also got ignored until she made a purchase. I don’t like feeling like I have to pay to get a hello out of someone. But I’ll definitely be back again sometime the next time I’m in the nabe.

Not the place Im going to splurge… I read the other 2 posts and my experience is quite the opposite. I am a big local-shopper and buy from artists as well yet this place exceeds their prices by far… I think the advantage of this shop is that it is conveniently located for area natives who may not get to local open-markets and artisan fairs. But for someone who has the time to scout out artists and designers for both style and cost… I am not interested. Since I work nearby, I stop in occasionally and can’t believe that the purse I saw in there the other day was 280 $$$!!! Individual beverage glasses were 10 $ and did not pop out to me as unique.(They are made in mexico where things are made for pocket change) so I cannot even love them for their local flavor… Some nice jewelry some was moderately priced but most things were crazy-expensive…oy!!!

My parents live 3 minutes from this little corner of gift purchasing heaven. Nest is owned by locals who feature local artists — and doesn’t have that mass created popularized pseudo-«funky» feel you find in the shops of central Boston. They have really beautiful, sanely priced stuff. My friends and I come visit my parents for sleepovers(I’m 27) first because they are wonderful people, but second for the Saturday morning trip to Nest. It’s trouble fellow shoppers with a good eye — don’t say I didn’t warn ya. Over the past 5 years or so I have purchased the earrings, necklaces, bracelets and rings that are 9 times out of 10 the pieces I wear when I want to be the most fabulous person in the room. None cost me more than $ 60, and most cost less than $ 20. My favorite finds — around $ 10. They also have housewares stuff — smelly candles, Lush-like bath balls, embroidered napkins, funky serving plates and the like. The occasional rug or chest as well. Their stock is constantly changing, and they are great at seasonal fun stuff. A smattering of cool, original bags and scarves and some mighty adorable baby stuff and you really cannot go wrong when in need of the perfect gift for the lady in your life. Hell, I once got my dad a great stone bust of a lion here. I wish I lived closer, but my credit card is just as glad that I don’t. You’ll love it.

The store ‘Nest’ is just as charming as it’s name. It’s one of those sweet little stores, in a random location(Dedham Center) which you either miraculously discover or know through word of mouth. However, more people should find this hidden gem!!! From shabby and fun home décor to funky rugs, jewelry, candles and bags, they’ve got a nice mix of hip designers and styles. It’s similar to the store Anthropology, however less pricey and not a chain or large business. I was just there today and purchased a fabulous Angela Adams rug, full of textures, moss greens, rich browns and honeys. This great little store is sure to inspire whether it be home or self.
