Rude staff and shady business practices. Made a complaint with better business bureau and corporate office hopefully they will change the management and get it together

They have plenty of squat racks, shakes and snacks for sale. The locker room is a place of decay and weird smells. They once had a steam room, someone thought it would be better to store supplies in it instead of maintaining it. The shower has a sign asking people not to blow their nose in the shower. Better to command people not to make a mess than to actively keep it clean. They gave me a hard time about being from a different golds, had to fill out a form to be a guest for 10 days even though I pay a ridiculous amount per month for gold’s black membership and was promised access to any golds.

Friendly staff, new & clean equipment considering this gym was previously owned by other chains. Definitely impressed based on other Gold’s experiences.

I went to train here since I’m from out of town and have never experienced such horrible customer service at a gym before. From the moment I walked in I felt a terrible vibe from their staff, I wasn’t greeted at all, the gym atmosphere reminded me of Planet Fitness(or Crunch). The assistant mgr checked me in and since I didn’t have a «travelers pass» he told me that it was my responsibility to get their phone number and give it to him(since he couldn’t look it up himself?). I then mentioned that I have worked out at Miami Lakes Golds and I’ve never had an issue. Another associate overheard me saying that, and after spending $ 15 for a one day pass for my mother in law to work out with me, we went over to their machines. The female employee came up to us and said that our gym bags needed to be placed in the locker room. I told her ok I understand it’s your policy, I’m just not comfortable as I’ve had my things stolen from lockers before. She started walking away, mumbling that if I don’t like their policy I can leave or go to Golds in Miami Lakes. Needless to say, I walked out and as I was, she mumbled again that she’s not scared of me if I put in a complaint. I will be reporting them to BBB as my Home gym told me to do so and will make sure my voice is heard. Stay away from this particular Golds gym, La fitness has much nicer staff.

An improperly set-up machine, fell on top of my husband while he was working out. The manager came out, not to see if he was ok, but to tell the employees that they should keep people off this equipment until he told them otherwise. Minutes later, the equipment was back up, but not fixed– no sign, nobody guarding it, ready to fall on someone else. He hasn’t been able to work out since this happened,(due to a sore shoulder, from this incident!) so he went in asking for a refund… the manager refused to come out to speak with him-(Really?!) the clerk stated that the manager said it’s against company policy to give a refund. Unbelievable. Contacting corporate and the BBB on this one…

Really nice gym now since they renovated it. They have replaced everything with brand new top of the line equipment. Great place to see beautiful women ;)
