Defiance Roadhouse

We stopped here after a long ride on the Katy Trail. Nice bartender/​waitress, greeted warmly. Our pizza was burned so she spotted us a couple beers while we waited. There are some afternoon locals who frequent the place so you get some of the local color here. A nice place to unwind and enjoy a craft brew.

Usually my first stop on my bike. They have the best burgers. I really haven’t had anything else here… I can’t come here without eating a burger! Um and beer. Staff is fine. The girls are great and hot. Id say if ya haven’t been here… ya need to

Best thin crust pizza I have ever ate. Staff is very friendly. A bit on the smokey side, for me. Great entertainment.

better than your average bar fare in a very divey bar. clientele (at least one guy here) leans to the douchey end of the spectrum, but don’t let one guy spoil the whole party!

One of the best salads I’ve ever had and sausage and mushroom pizza was pretty good. Great atmosphere and kid friendly.

If you are looking for a décor or a nice family bar/​pub this place is not it. However, if you want small town feeling, bikers, cigaret and cigar smell than you found a home. I cycle on Katy trail at least once a week and I stop here for lunch and a cigar. Food here is excellent, good beer selection and staff is very friendly. If you like a good reubin or Cuban sandwich then order one. Overall this place is one of a kind.

Great food. Surprisingly good for the small town location. The owners are veteran restaurant owners and it shows. Great outdoor seating. I love the setting. Smells like the country, red barn in the background. Delicious burgers (I got the roadhouse burger which is a Reuben on top of a burger). My wife got the blue and bacon. It was delicious too. Both were. I want to come back for a Reuben. I hear it’s phenomenal. The Cuban burger looks good too. The only complaint is that the servers were inattentive at first. I think you just need to be a go getter to get their attention and ask for service. Bathrooms were a little dirty too. In short, a great visit. I’m definitely coming back.

Thought it time for an update… I have had several different menu items here on different occassions. The burger is still your best bet.
Food quality and service has gone downhill since their take over. Met the owner before… He promised change, a clean environment and professional wait staff… That did not happen. Same not so clean environment, usually quite smokey throughout, (how did they escape the inside smoking ban?), a bathroom where you will feel dirtier after leaving it and wait staff that spend their spare time standing behind the bar smoking and texting.
I’d still go back for the burger and a beer but I usually get it to go or sit outside.
This could be a really nice place with a little bit of effort but they are not interested as I guess the weekend biker bar crowds give them enough revenue.

We stopped in based on the recommendation of the innkeeper’s at the bed and breakfast where we were staying and we were not disappointed. The pizza was wonderful and the service was good. We will definitely eat there again when we are in the area.

Amateur hour. Plenty of waitresses, not enough cooks. Waited for our orders 40 min. before leaving in disgust when waitress said kitchen was backed up because someone had not shown up. It happens, but tell people when they sit down. Maybe if you’re a biker you’ll get faster service.

A diverse menu. Reasonable prices. Attentive and friendly staff. Right off the Katy trail.
The crowd on a Saturday afternoon was a little of everything. Bikers, locals, bicyclists, winery tour people.
The only negative I would offer is they STILL allow smoking inside. Come on people, time to accept reality. At least restrict smoking inside to after dinner hours. The good news is they have a ton of outside seating in front and on the side by the stage.

You’ll need earplugs to dine here, but it was this way prior to the Salvatore’s owner taking over. The food here is great and staff is nice. Great food. It’s pretty loud, though. The decibel volume cannot be overstated. Do NOT say I did not warn you about he noise if you choose to dine here. It’s seriously loud. 8+ people in the bar area will generate the noise of a Who concert. I often wonder if they are not mic’ing the people and re-​pumping their conversations into the surround sound systems. It’s loud in here. the food is great. Patrons are also nice.

Wow. what an improvement this place has made. GREAT Food! These people own another restaurant somewhere in STL Metro, so the food is way beyond anything theyve ever had in Defiance.
