Not too bad for a bagel everyday. Prices are decent, staff is responsive. A warning to fellow Unilocalers and bagel enthusiasts alike: they PILE on cream cheese. Just a heads up. My personal favorite bagel is the Salt kind. Don’t knock it till you try it.

Nice place to grab breakfast. I wish the bagel sandwiches would have more meat on them when you order.

I’m so disappointed! I had such high hopes for this place but the bagels are, quite honestly, awful. I bought 6 of different varieties at 9 in the morning and none of them seem to have been made today. It’s not just the freshly baked texture they are missing — they don’t taste good. It seems like the blueberry bagels are made using some blueberry flavor rather than actual fresh berries — if you’ve ever baked with blueberries you know the difference. They are really bad. I wish I could say otherwise! You are better off going to Panera, or the grocery store.

Went today 3yrs after moving to Dekalb. Unfortunately, was told the toaster was broken, so I had to eat my bagel cold, didn’t even get offered a discount. I ended up going to Panera Bread afterward where they had a much bigger selection for almost the same price. Yeah, I didn’t like this place at all

Good food and beverages! Try the bagel knots… bite size bagels with cream cheese frosting on top.

So if this were all based on service, this place would get a 5 star review. Early in the morning, the counterpersons are so friendly. It was my first time and they walked me through different options. They also made sure to tell me that if I got coffee with a sandwich, it was a meal deal. Little things like that make me really appreciate individual establishments. But the food… not so great. Nothing terrible, but nothing spectacular. I wanted something a little more special. I had the bacon, egg and cheese on an everything bagel. The bagel was great. Next time, it may just be a bagel with cream cheese for me. Go for a cup of coffee and a friendly face, but definitely not the bagel sandwiches.

Been here a few times as friends like it a lot. I have to admit I don’t get it. Their bagel sandwiches taste like I could make them at home very easily. The food is average at best and its in a weird location. Nothing to say stay away but nothing to say come running to this place either.

If you love bagels and bagel sandwiches, this is spot to hit in dekalb. I love the typical soup and sandwich lunch and panrea can get pretty boring. The have desserts also and have a variety of food items. I brought my grandparents here when they were visiting me at NIU and they really enjoyed it.

Another stop before I headed home from a day trip to the University. I needed a quick, cheap bite so I gave it a try. I ordered an egg Focaccia sandwich. Why would anyone order a Focaccia in a place that has«bagel» in their name? The bread was tasteless and way too greasy. Don’t do it. The saving grace of the meal: a blueberry bite. They have these little miniature loaves of bagel topped with creamy frosting in a variety of flavors. They’re perfect for a little bit of sweetness and I hope Chicago catches on. I feel a little embarrassed to suggest something from De Kalb to Chicago but it needs to be done. I brought a pumpkin bagel home and had it later for a snack. I love all things pumpkin, except pie. The bagel was good. From a student point of view I imagine this would be a good place to grab coffee and a bagel on your way to class. Also, not bad for studying. It was pretty quiet in there.

This place is in a bit of an odd location, a defunct-looking strip mall(sorta?) and across from Walgreens. It was frequently my intermediary stop between home and campus parking lot, and I liked studying here because it was usually calm. Their coffee was pretty tasty, and they were generous with the cream cheese.
