Lovetts Towing & Recovery

Do not let them pull your car out of the ditch and tow it they will charge you $ 350 even when you ask before the tow and they tell you $ 200. I tried to help a friend out and recommended them based on what they told me the price would be. When my friend picked up his car they almost doubled the price.

We broke down towing a trailer from Chicago to California. The cop that stopped to assist gave us their card. They got us in right away found out the problem and had to take the car to an exhaust specialist because a bad catalytic converter. Everything was very reasonably priced and they had us back in the road faster than expected. We made it to Cali no problem (even towing through the Rockies) and the car is still running great. The staff was all very nice and helped us out in a tough time. I would go back if I lived anywhere nearby

This place towed one of my customer’s vehicles. My employee called to get the information so we could secure the vehicle as the lien holder. On the first call, the lady who answered the phone hung up on my employee after telling him we were not allowed to get the vehicle. I called back and she was extremely rude to me as well and again stated they would not release it to us. I called the ICC police who confirmed they must release the vehicle to the lien holder. We waited a while, called back and she finally gave us the information necessary to get the vehicle. I have no idea why they approach their customer service in this fashion but if this experience is indicative of how they treat other customers/​businesses it’s shocking that they are in business at all. They were horrible people with terrible attitudes. Stay as far away as humanely possible and pray you are never forced to deal with this company. We deal with companies like this on a daily basis and have never had an experience like this… ever.

TERRIBLE! My car died. I got a tow. They changed the battery. I picked up my car. It died again the same day. It was 20 below zero when I called for another tow. The tow truck driver started an argument with me after waiting 45 minutes. This time, it was the alternator. Why didn’t they figure this out the first time? And, why do I have to pay for ANOTHER tow? They refused to work with me even though the tow truck driver was very rude and it had the EXACT same problem it had originally. They will not get any future business from me!

I was sent a compliment by Beverly, Bill (owners wife), that she was upset at me that her husband and her company treats people like s#!t. Do not be mad at me because your husband corrupts the people in Dekalb and visitors; after browsing various reviews about this company, I am right about this company. Customer services are horrible, ironically they are in a customer servoce field. Like I said, go elsewhere if you need services like a true mechanic such as d.r.i.v.e automotive or bockmans. As far as for tow companies, Lovetts bullies people for all your money that you have (make up prices bc they want to and can) go with someone else. I read a review and an individual stated that if you get towed by Lovetts, it will be the worst experience as terms of customer service, ACTUALLY THE WORST EXPERIENCE I EVER HAD, PERIOD!

I had a completely different experience; maybe only angry people bother to write reviews. My dad was in an accident and I called the company at least three times in a row. The lady who helped me was so understanding and would not even let me apologize for bothering her. Not only that, but she did not even try to sell me further towing or repair services. I would have had the car repaired there, but the insurance company sent it to the dealer. Lovett’s even made that process simple!

My first choice for bodywork and for towing in the DeKalb area. They did a great job on bodywork.
