If someone hadn’t told me about this place I probably would have missed it. This is a classic downtown diner with a mix of local and traditional food. The food is great the owners are there working the grill and tables. They don’t have a huge staff but they keep things moving quickly and the food is made fresh and worth the wait. If your downtown this is a great place to stop for breakfast or lunch.

Benny’s has apparently been around since 1980 and I have somehow never been! It’s a cute little old fashion dinner on Main Street that serves up everything from cheap, greasy burgers to your typical tex-mex staples. I was told to try the cheese burger and a guisado, bean and cheese burrito, so that is exactly what I did. It was a strange combo, but I left stuffed to the brim and happy. The burger was good, but I would have to say the guisado taco was the winner. It had great flavor and was enormous. I am going to have to go back for their breakfast next time I’m in town. Service was friendly, but not overly helpful. Half of the staff was sitting at the counter eating lunch themselves. Be aware, they only accept cash and I don’t think there is an ATM anywhere very close by.
