Updated review since I had to shop at HEB during my last trip to Del Rio twice. It’s still an odd place to go into. Firstly, the parking lot is hell, because shopping carts take up parking spaces. Unfortunately, I had to suck it up to get three things that aren’t available anywhere else in town. Yes, everything is bright, and looks clean, but it seems like too much stuff is shoved into the space to provide one stop shopping. The cashier kept chit chat to a minimum, and provided just the amount of service I wanted.
Ugh, I survived my trips into HEB with no obvious wounds. Too bad I can’t bring myself to wander aimlessly in the aisles like I did when I was young.

Sadly, this tiny town in Del Rio doesn’t have many shopping options. Walmart’s items are always expired so HEB it is. Customer service is horrible, there are 3 female checkers that have been polite an talkative. I appreciate that, other than those 3 no one else knows how to even say «hi» or «your welcome» after I’ve said thank you. The manager needs to hire friendlier employees, ones that greet you with a smile (Yes, it’s part of your job)

If you’re OK with employees cutting in front of THREE different customers to buy their own meal, then this is the store for you. But, If you are one of those who think that customers shouldn’t have to deal with employees cutting in front of you because an employee is hungry, then don’t shop here. Both the hungry employee and unconcerned cashier have nothing but contempt for paying customers. Good luck staying in business HEB! I hope your employees love how you prefer them over paying customers.

Very clean store and the only other competition to Wal Mart. Service here was good and they have a large enough selection to where they are able to hold their own against its competitor. They even have their own special blend of coffee beans that I like. Its called the «The taste of Texas».
