I Strongly Suggest you do NOT Consider this building as a possible residence, either for you, as a senior citizen… or for a loved one. To begin with, the building(built in the mid 1970’s), has, and has had for a very long time, an inherent problem that is Huge… and that is, an all-pervading, and long-term saturation with MOLD… from the entire exterior, to all interior spaces. Ever since the aluminum siding was applied over the entire surface of this 7-story cement-block edifice… and that was done So Long Ago, that even the«elders» from the church next store who built this«White Elephant», claim no knowledge of who was originally responsible for this insane decision…(or even, Why it was done!) The result is a pervasive essence of mold-odor(and often, visibility, in it’s unmistakable Green-ness) throughout the entire building… and many individual units having very serious issues, that the handymen spray with chlorinated water to mask the problem areas, as complaints arise. It’s very common to see residents gliding around with oxygen tanks, all the time. I checked, and the local & state(Florida) health departments are not interested, unlike senior residences in most other areas of the country, where Mold is considered as serious health hazard, especially for seniors, and treated immediately & accordingly. So, a resident at Hugh Ash has no recourse but to leave, or breathe it until death relieves one of it. The other main issue is the hostile NEWMANAGER… After 33 years being managed by a caring, gentle soul, who died suddenly last spring, moments before retirement, Sadly… the replacement«manager» is so Hostile, Offensive, and Accusatory towards the residents… that many who’ve lived here peacefully for years, are lined up to leave as soon as another living possibility is secured. Trust me, You don’t want to fall into this Death-Trap…There are many, many other viable Senior residences in central Florida to be considered.
