What can I say, if you want authentic smoked BBQ come here! Love their baby back ribs, they literally fall off the bone and their wings are to die for and I’m a not a wingperson. I been here 4 times in the past week just to have their wings. Their baked beans are amazing too and love their pulled pork sandwiches. All their BBQ sauces are made in house and you even buy a bottle to take with you, my favorite is their smoking sauc. Their prices are great too, so you should come and give them a try you will not be disappointed!!!
The service is great and the management is great too. Love coming here

Good tasty bbq! We enjoyed the salad bar complete with fresh greens, potato salad, seafood salad, beets, Fixings, dressing, etc. The red neck egg rolls were off the hook amazing! We enjoyed the brisket (a little dry but nice and tender), ribs (St Louis and baby back) and the kids liked their chicken fingers more than elsewhere we have been this vacation. Overall a solid bbq location for those requiring good slow cooked food!

I here the other night when I dropped my child off at the YMCA camp in de Leon Springs. I had the lunch portion of baby back ribs with a side of broccoli and green beans and it was awesome. The service was great food was great the management even stop by to see if everything was all right I like that when that happens.
When I pick my son up on the following Friday I asked him if he was hungry and he said he was starving so I said great let’s go back to Sonny’s barbecue and see if it’s as good as it was the last time. Well it certainly was I had the full rack this time same sides of broccoli in the green beans is a resume. And I had a two-​for-​one draft beer my son had the half chicken he chose french fries then mac & cheese for his sides and he had a lemonade. We sat and chatted we ate and we laugh was a great time I highly recommend this place for everybody.

Just moved back to deland from port orange and this location compared to that sonny’s is no where close. The portions are smaller, Bread is different, and they do not offer the kids special. Sad to say I’ll now have to drive to port orange every 2 weeks for some good bbq.

My family loves this sonny’s, they have great costumer service, delicious and quick food. We have eaten her 3 times in the past two day. We love the redneck eggrollls and sliced pork, they have a great salad bar too!

Awesome food. Great service. The new BBQ sandwiches are great and the Egg Roll appetizers are awesome. This is a great family restaurant something different for everyone offering all you can eat for the hungriest of appetites.

This isn’t our first time here and won’t be our last. As far as chain restaurants go this one’s not bad. The endless salad bar with a side of meat for an extra dollar is the deal of the day. It also comes with choice of soup and garlic bread or corn bread. The potato soup came out quickly and was piping hot, and was not bad for something that actually tasted like it came out of a Cheney Brothers truck. Our server wasn’t quite on the mark as I’d hoped for but was friendly enough. The salad bar was fresh and plentiful and in the end there was enough food to take home after we finished. We will return like always because it’s a very predictable restaurant.

I love Sonny’s. They are the best BBQ as far as I am concerned. This location was in a town that has virtually nothing else. As far as I’m concerned, Sonny’s is all you need. The food is spectacular, the servers are friendly and prompt, and it is clean. I wish there were more Sonny’s in South Florida!

One last try, ain’t going back, the Restaraunt is just dark and depressing, they should have removed the back wall where the windows are located. An odd lay out.
The chicken was cold and dried out and our server was in lala land. This place screams yahoo franchise, we don’t care if y’all come back or not. Sonny’s is not what it once was…

I’m reviewing this location only the service was spot on place was very clean had an overall good experience.
Dry Rub Ribs — very tender nice smoke 4 bone lunch special
Green Beans — I’d say southern style cooked in a little fat very tasty
Mac & Cheese — it was okay at best needs some work
Salad Bar — everything seemed fresh nothing over the top but good a little pricey for a side $ 3.99 with the meal.
This is newer location they renovated the old Friendly’s. Good lunch spot we will return :)

Went into this not expecting much and didn’t get much. The place always seems busy so I was hoping it would live up to that level of popularity. I have concerns about food handling as my wife found chicken in the pork. Was told that they are stored side by side. Hmmm.
