The Half Wall DeLand

If you’re looking for an awesome burger with a great atmosphere, The Half Wall is the place to go. I highly recommend their bacon cheeseburger… delicious! And their brioche buns are the best around. I’m not a big drinker, so I can’t comment on their huge selection of alcohol, but their sweet iced tea is perfect — not too sweet, not too bitter. If you’re in DeLand, check it out!

The burgers and beer cheese soup are out of this world. The service is excellent. A++++. Such a great selection of draft beers and yummy food.

Food quality has increased drastically! I wentboth friends for dinner. I must say I was not excited about eating here again, but the food was awesome. I’m still not sure if the apps are any good, but the sandwiches are amazing!

Good atmosphere and food but doesn’t broadcast the sound to important games and the sound adds a lot of excitement to the viewers.

This place is a nice little set up in down town Deland. They have a pretty good selection of beer on tap and liquors. Their food is pretty awesome as well. I have always loved their burgers and wings. There are plenty of tvs to watch all of the games. I wish they would do a VIP card or tracker like WOB has. I will keep coming back to this place.

1 page of food, 10 pages of beers. I joke with my friends about the menu. It’s more like 3 pages of food and the rest beer. I think they have the best burgers in town. Great place for watching a game with friends or just relaxing after work. Staff are always friendly. They close early for a bar and some of the prices are a little high but the portions are large.

Once I move to Deland this will be my football watching spot. They have plenty of tvs, a great beer list and pretty good food. The service is good and its a fun atmosphere.

Soo many beers, so little time. Loved the selection and the staff was awesome. I’m a huge cider fan, and they have an impressive offering. Cannot wait to go back.

Got the two Grill Cheese, Bacon Cheeseburger, Beer soup. The Grill Cheese was really good, four cheeses with fries or cumberer salad that was good.
Everything was good and oh for the beer lovers there app 60 on tap. TVs for the games.

Stopped in today for a quick bite to eat. We were greater promptly at the door by a friendly staff.
The menue is simple straight up American comfort food. My wife had the French Dip and I gad the Turkey Sandwich. The waitress was happy to modify my order to my liking.
The food was served promptly and was well excecuted.
I will stop here again the next time I am in town to sample the many many beers.

I visit Deland periodically. I was inspired to visit the Half Wall from Unilocal.It is now my new favorite place in Deland. Great Martinis, a vast beer selection, a kitchen that prepares great stuff on and off the menu, a bar that creates a variety of infused liquors, and, John, one of the most knowledgeable bartenders I’ve met in almost 45 years. Can’t wait to return. If you’re a local, you gotta go!

Awesome beer selection… A little pricey $ 4.50−7.50. Most being around $ 6.00. Food was very generous portions at fair prices. $ 10 average cost per meal. Enjoyed the atmosphere and the service was great. Enjoyed our lunch!

The food was excellent. No complaints.
However, this is the first time I’ve ever complained publicly about a server. Although we came at 9:45 on a Saturday night, our orders were relatively simple and we weren’t a difficult table to please. We waited a bit to see our waiter Austin (understandable because it was a busy night), but we had a table of about ten people with most of them getting drinks only. We ordered three chips and salsas for the table, but I’m pretty sure Austin forgot about it because it was only after we reminded him (five minutes before we got our main course of four burgers) that he brought them out. My mom didn’t get a water until ten minutes after we got our food (again, after flagging him down), most of our tables’ waters were never refilled. Austin was obviously very busy, but there’s a way to still check on your table and make sure they’re comfortable that he failed to do. Our bill was over $ 70, and we usually always leave around 20%, even if the service is lacking, but this time was inexcusable.

If it’s beer you are after, you owe yourself a stop here. The head bartender is John and a great and welcoming host. Ask about the mixed drink menu he has personally inspired. Excellent but I came here extremely hungry after a long flight and needed more than just beer.
However, other than a burger, please go somewhere else in Deland for FOOD. I had the «award winning haddock» and would only ask ««who paid for the award». Burgers are definitely great. Any type, kind, variety, etc. Not much else.
Still a great spot for seeing or meeting.

Great beer selection with so many on tap as well as bottles. They also have house infused liquor and mimosas and bloody Mary’s on Sunday’s. Lots of tics with sports on as well as some out door seating. High top and booth seething and some basics food as well as a peanut butter and bacon burger (haven’t Braved it). But a great little gem right off Main Street

I went to the Half Wall with friends one night and happened to be there during their Oktoberfest celebration. Despite the extremely loud German Polka band playing it was a good place to get some grub and have a few drinks. The wall of beer on tap is rather impressive and seems to be the main draw of this place.
The food we ordered was good and the drink specials were decent. It was really crowded with college students, but it was a Saturday night and Oktoberfest. Seems like a good place for a younger crowd to gather!

Great beer selection, average food. I really wanted to like this place, it’s been nicely remodeled since it was the Irish place, and the beer selection is really good. Unfortunately, the food is nothing special — not bad, but nothing special. The burger and fries were adequate, but looked and tasted like something the restaurant gets from a supplier like Sysco — obviously previously frozen, nothing «homemade» about it.
Service was friendly, but quite slow — the place wasn’t busy at all, yet it took at least 20 to 20 minutes to get our food. My advice: if you’re looking to have a quick beer, it’s a cool place with a good selection. But eat somewhere else.

Dublin Station closed, and this place took up residence. I have to say, I knew that I was going to see some pricey menu items, but what I saw blew me away. They have a wide selection of beers, which is about the only reason I give them two stars. Miller Lite on bottle should not be $ 3.75; and the rest is considerably more.
I ordered a Turkey Sandwich and it honestly tasted very dry. The bread they use is quite heavy and dry as well. Ultimately I was pretty disappointed in the food, and decided against drinking due to the prices. No thanks.

This is an update to a previous review. I felt the need to reduce them to 2 stars mainly due to the food. I ordered the peanut butter bacon burger and it was so dry I had to request BBQ sauce to put on it. My hubby ordered a chili dog and described it as the worse chili he has ever had. And wasn’t too pleased with the hot dog either. This makes the third time we have eaten here but it is also the last. Our visit was on a Friday night and it was very chaotic with the staff. It was painfully obvious that food orders were being brought out not knowing where they were supposed to go. The server we had, Kate, was super friendly, competent and helpful even though she was new to the establishment. We might return for a beer or two in the future, but it’s highly doubtful.

Great beer selection 50+ but expect to pay 6 – 8 a beer bring your wallet or as we call the place half wallet. Food is good but just as pricy as the beers.
