The carne asada quesadillas are the best. The tacos are also delicious. My parents would bring me and my siblings here when we were small and now we come here to eat and bring our kids

Had a burrito and it was awesome, especially with their homemade tortillas. Also, had fresh, hot tortilla chips and salsa that were great! Would recommend.

Lupes, que paso (what happened)? This place is a huge local Delano favorite for most of the commuters and residents. Eating at this restaurant is almost like a rite of passage for new teachers, and law enforcement personnel in Delano. It is an unofficial required experience for first timers in the community.
They offer homemade tasty tortillas and deliciously crunchy freshly fried chips.
Two stars because… you can’t have one of the largest lunch clientele and only offer tortillas & chips. My zincronasada (quesadilla with jalapeños & grilled onions), was severely lacking in flavor. I substituted asada for chicken and ended up with mushy, over boiled tasteless pollo. Those delicious chips were partnered up with pico de gallo, not a salsa. Pico de gallo would of been adequate to eat with the chips if it was fresh, preferably made that morning. Tomatoes and onions were transparent, and the texture of both those ingredients were slushy. I will admit I am a bit of a salsa snob, but if you can fry up a basket of great chips, your setting high standards for stellar salsa as a guaranteed winning dip.
Lupes, sorry but you lost my yearly homage during the prep day one hour lunches in which so many educators seek you out. I will miss your tortillas & crunchy hot chips. Good luck my old friend. Hopefully better days await you.

I had the quesdilla with carne asada and everything on it. It was amazingly delicious. The tacos asada and de pastor are really delicious. And the Horchata water is bommb. This place has always been one of my favorite go to places in delano. Yumm.

I grew up in Delano and now serve in the military traveling all over the world. I have tried a variety of Mexican cuisines, but California Mexican is still the best. Having said that, Lupes restaurant has some of the best to offer. If you haven’t tried the zincronisada, try it! It’s Awesome. It is a restaurant that was founded over 25 years ago and still serves delicious food today. Every time I find myself back in Delano I make it a point to grab lunch or dinner there. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a friendly environment and great food.

I am in Delano a lot for business so I thought I’d give Lupe’s a try. I am used to having very good Mexican food. I ordered the taco dinner. I thought the meal was average, service slow and the black iced tea tasted like it was made with dirty water. I will go back to my old standbys.

I’ve been here twice and twice i didn’t care for it. I ordered a bean and cheese burrito and the beans tasted like the came from a can. On my most recent visit i ordered a Chile Relleno and it was really bland.

My favorite Mexican restaurant in Delano. Great pricing, and great food. Never too busy either!

Was recommended by a business client to stop by if I was in the mood for some authentic Mexican food. I’m always in the mood for great food and great authentic Mexican food so he didn’t have to twist my arm. Its a quaint, corner lot restaurant and they did NOT disappoint. I was told to get their crispy tacos and they were AMAZING. I had two crispy tacos, shredded beef and chicken along with rice and beans. For some reason, their rice and beans were so much better than I’ve had at other Mexican restaurants. The prices were very reasonable and the staff were very nice. Highly recommend.

Not one of the better Mexican restaurants here. Its decent for a those starving, but there are better in town.

Where do I start… owner is so friendly he’s in there majority of the time. I’ve been going her for years since I was in grade school always getting rice and bean burritos with homemade tortillas. Then one day I took a bit of my mothers combination burrito and it was LOVE! I knew at that point I had to try other things on the menu. carne asada tacos are fantastic with green sauce as what I call carne asada chili omg I’m craving it now! Then the green enchiladas suizas with avocado slices on the top are yum! Hmmm what elsee carne asada burritos and the pico de gallo yes the tomatoes are so juicy and tasty. My son is now in on the tradition of rice and been Burritos… finish off yer food with horchata and did I mention… the crushed ice… yes! Who has crushed ice anymore… well Lupe’s does and it’s great!
