Shrimp House

Tucked away next to Rigatony’s. A nice selection of freshly prepared frozen fare. The clam chowder and fries were exceptional, the shrimp a bit lacking in flavor, but it was January and they were frozen. Moderately priced, exceptional service and some of the best cole slaw I have had in a very long time. Returned to this place on 2 August since we had not been there since they remodeled. A nice mural and improved ambience, but the cook/​owner was not there, entrusting things to gentlemen who spoke reasonably good English, but seemed to comprehend very little. The haddock special was a nice sized piece of haddock, but it was so thick and undercooked that it was mushy and still cold in the center. Far from sushi grade. The ‘potato chips’ they offer along with French fries were far too thick to be deep fried and no one ever shook the basket during cooking, so while some of the edges were browned, most of the ‘chip’ was not and they were raw and uncooked. The clam chowder that came with the lunch special was delivered after the entrée and was cold and smelled ‘fishy.’ The lunch special supposedly included a cookie, but it was never delivered. We took one from the counter amongst a half dozen individually wrapped ones there. It was hard, not chewy, but rock hard and rancid tasting. Perhaps there has been a change of management or they have entrusted their food preparation to someone that probably couldn’t handle the fryer at McDonalds.

Best seafood around! Great fun and casual atmosphere. Order at the counter and they bring it out. Absolutely spectacular shrimp and seafood at good prices. They even have seafood pizza! Worth seeking this place out. Highly recommend.
