Love the food, love the atmosphere, love the prices. Favorites so far are the Lamb Sliders, but I’ve also had the Smoked Wings and Smothered Fries. Super reasonable prices and the food comes out quick. On the downside, the bartenders that I’ve dealt with had very little personality. Not sure who the owner is, but I’d be curious to hear more about the place. Too bad there was no one interested in telling me about it. So, great food and prices. If you can look past the friendliness, you’ll enjoy it tremendously.

The Exchange has the BEST cheese curds I’ve ever tasted!!! You must try them. Other than that, I had the Steak & Cheese which was on a pretzel bun. That was pretty good too :) good selection of bear and wine. Good place!

We arrived in Delavan too soon for dinner so decided to while away a couple of hours drinking next door. The interior of this bar is really well done, massive bar set up and beautiful woods everywhere plus an impressive selection of beers both bottled and on tap. The alcohol selection was not quite as varied and they are missing a specialty drink menu or the ability to create any on the fly. We had 3 different bartenders over 2 hours and I don’t know if that is normal for this place or not but it was a little disconcerting. None of them proved very talkative or informative of their specials/beer flights/wine offering. We snacked on first a metal cup of fried smelt which neither of us had tried before. They were nearly whole and very tasty, served with cocktail sauce. I think a creamier dip would’ve worked a little better though. The nachos were underwhelming, housemade chorizo was very bland and so were most of the other ingredients excluding the pickled jalapenos which were very tasty. I would try them out again but maybe after dinner rather than before when I hope the place picks up a little. They do share a kitchen with Harvest Café so I’m sure their dinners are just as good.

3.5 Stars. The Exchange is located in the quaint downtown area of Delvan. Although Delvan may seem like a simple country town, The Exchange itself seems as if it can be found in any major metro. It has great wooden bar, a one of kind pulley-mechanized fan, cool light fixtures, and an overall classy yet casual feel. Although I visited during the afternoon with minimal guests, I’m sure this place is a great meet-up for friends during the evening hours. I recommend their loaded fries– which include fries(duh), cheese sauce, cheese curds, and bacon. Artery-Clogging Deliciousness. To balance things out, I had their chicken salad for my lunch. It was interesting. I didn’t expect bow-tie noodles and balsamic vinaigrette to be in chicken salad, but it went well together. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and would come back if I’m in the area.
