My friends and I were visiting from NYC. I’m Haitian and was surprised to find a Haitian restaurant in this town. The food was absolutely delicious. The cinnamon vanilla pancakes and Haitian beignets were to die for !!! My friends ordered French toast, the oatmeal and eggs. They all enjoyed their food as well. It was BYOB which was also great. Very affordable and beautiful atmosphere! The staff was also very welcoming and accommodating to us. They have food for everyone — gluten free, dairy free, soy free. We will definitely be back !

This place was awesome! My boyfriend is a meat eater and I am a vegan. They had options for the 2 of us, and we didn’t have to complain or argue about where to go and what we both could eat at certain places! The waiter was very friendly and helpful and even made the appetizer vegan friendly by putting the animal ingredients on the side, so we could share the plate. The food was great! And the rice pudding was delicious. I was so full when I left. Hopefully, if I am ever in the area again, I can stop in an enjoy the place.

Wow what a perfect evening. Anyone who likes a taste of the Caribbean will love this place. It is suitable for vegans and carnivores too. You can order ala carte or from a very reasonable prix fix menu with plenty of options. We loved the very friendly hosts and cool décor too. The food is cooked with great care and presented the same way. There was a time when you’d come into a place like this and maybe the intention was spot on but the folks making the food may not have had much experience running a restaurant. This place is not like that at all. Great flavors. Escape the boring Pocono tourists traps and get some real food. You’ll be very happy that you did.

So after a long hike, my friends and I were starving, we Unilocaled and found this awesome gem! Great vibe, great art, beautiful energy, great staff and AHmazing food! Perfect, just exactly what we needed. Can’t wait to go back and try the mint/basil limeanade! They literally picked the basil in front of us to make it! Yuuum

This was the absolute BEST place I’ve ever eaten on a long cross country drive. I had the Limeade drink and Coconut Curry Chicken and my sister had the Coconut Curry Vegetables and salad. Both were delicious, fresh and perfect amount. The people working there were so kind and generous. LOVEDIT!

I had the lunch menu. Food was fine, simple but tasty. Although I cannot say for sure, I suspect some of the items were store-bought. Service was a bit slow and ambiance was lacking at the time — but it was in the middle of the afternoon and we were pretty much the only customers.

We were initially a little apprehensive based on the outside appearance of the place(kind of crazy looking painted windows) but all that was put to rest we we were warmly greeted by the front-of-house guy and later, the chef who came to talk to us about the menu. Everything we had was absolutely fresh and perfectly cooked. For appetizer, we split the mixed fried appetizer and pozole, then husband had the fried pork and I had a scrumptious veggie etoufee, and banana beignets and vegan coconut milk ice cream for dessert. We will definitely be back next time we are in town.

What a wonderful bit of luck or fate, to happen upon Zen Fusion in this little town! The ambience is unique, with eclectic and remarkably creative art work everywhere. The owners create a lot of it themselves… carved furniture is astounding… the spirituality is even more about«fusion» than the food, with elements of many religious traditions evident in the art and the conversation with the owner. We enjoyed our lunch, the food is «slow» in the best sense of the word, and nourishing with vegan and gluten free options and the fried plantains I was hoping for.

Beautiful place, great food, great service. Enjoyed all the dishes. We were 7 guests, the bill was 100 $… One thing I would change, is that they don’t have high chairs.

So I’m hiking the Appalachian trail. Having a miserable time in rocky Pennsylvania and after briefly checking in across the street at the hostel came across this little gem. Arrived around 1230 and the place was empty which suited me just fine since I was looking for something relaxing after the 12 mile morning of hiking. The yogi music and namaste signs everywhere helped too :) The food is a mix of of Haitian: Caribbean fusion and Asian. I opted for the griot(pork shoulder with black beans and rice and smashed, fried plantains with piklez– a spicy Haitian slaw) and was not disappointed. After living in Miami for 5 years I thought I’d seen good black beans and plantains, but this place takes the cake, no joke. And in Delaware Water Gap. Say what?! So if you’re just passing thru or staying the night, Zen it up!

The place is beautiful an the people are so calm and kind and have very positive attitudes! They are also very attentive. The décor is gorgeous an the art is astounding for such a little quaint place. It feels personal and individualistic; not your average restaurant but in a great way!

This is definitely not the type of restaurant you would see in the Poconos area, but being from NYC, we were so intrigued by this place. Upon entrance, you’re greeted with a delightful smell of incense and eclectic religious paraphernalia. To us, this meant the food here should be interesting and memorable! The décor has a mix of Eastern religions and Caribbean flavors. There were Buddha statues, draped with rosary beads, and soca music in the background. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The owner and cook even came by our table to talk to us. When we got down to ordering food, we opted for a Pre-Fixe menu which pork shoulder entrée, and separately a fish entrée. The wait for our food was just way too long, to the point where we were there for over and hour and a half before we decided to just take our dessert to go. This seems to be a common theme for most patrons. Food-wise, we weren’t sure what to expect at a Haitian Asian fusion restaurant. But, once the food arrived, everything made sense. Flavorful pork and fish, nothing was dry, and it was enjoyable. The were hints of Asian flavors and Caribbean flavors, it all just mashed up so well. Only reason they lost stars were because of the wait, even on a night with only 4 tables to serve.

So happy we found this place. Thank you Unilocal! As a person who tries his best to be gluten free and loves to try different things this place is a gem. Cool atmosphere with a very interesting décor, doesn’t feel like you’re in the Poconos which it’s great for a little escape for a non-native local like me. Owners are great people. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Will definitely come back here and introduce others. Btw brought the kids and they were accommodated nicely.

Really had high hopes for this place as we are gluten free. They did have gluten free opinions but this was never a place we’d go again. We arrived at 5:30pm and didn’t get to leave until 9:15(because thats how long it took to order, get our food, get the check and rush out of there). The entire place reeks of incense. It’s okay if you like the smell but just know your going home with that on your clothes. Seconds, it took us FOREVER to get our food. They brought everyones plate our at different times(like 15minutes-1.5 hours apart). We also got our entrees way before our salads which was just kind of odd. One of the worst parts was that there was hair in the food, people got the wrong dishes and told us things cost one price when they actually cost more. As far as the hair going in peoples food, no comp was offered and when we talked to the manager, his explanation for things going wrong was«Well that happens. Not our fault». You really should take responsibility for what goes on in your restaurant. Getting the check was equally as difficult as it took about and hour, there were wrong priced items on it, and the poor waitress couldn’t get the manager to come over to speak with us(until we were literally walking out the door). We should have probably followed suit with the tables next to us who left after the appetizers as they had no interest in dealing with this place either. ***IMPORTANT*** Out of a 12 people party, 8 of them had food poisoning/got sick either later that night or early the next morning. ***IMPORTANT*** Overall I just would not recommend this place. It was supposed to be a fun place to celebrate a birthday and the whole thing ended up being an unexpected disaster. I’m not sure why the reviews are so high on this because our experience was one of the worst we ever had. Just be cautious when going here!

The owner of Zen Fusion is very friendly and a gracious host. It was my first time to Zen Fusion. Two tables of approximately 20 people. Everyone ordered different dishes. The dumplings on the appetizer platter were delicious. The fried plantains were good, as were the sauces. We were not pleased with the grilled hotdogs which were unappetizing and most of the party left them on the plates. We waited at least 2 hours before our dinner plates came out, and if not for the occasion, I believe we would have walked out. I had a pork medallions with rice and beans and I was very disappointed because the pork was mostly fried fat, with barely any meat at all and totally overcooked. The beans and rice did not have much flavor. The others who ate the same dish also complained about the fatty overcooked pork. There was another party of 30 who also waited for their food to arrive, which it didnt and they walked out. I loved the ambiance and the music, but beyond that, I would not recommend anyone having dinner there. I don’t understand how the chef could send out food like that and make us wait until our tounges were hanging out. I looked in Facebook at older reviews which included pics, and there was a huge difference in reviews and appearances of the dishes. Please, give the chef lessons on cooking and timing her food. I was wondering how the kitchen was set up, and how the food was prepped.

Amazing! Many, many gluten free options, vegan options and very accommodating of a nut allergy! The owner greeted me as I waited for my takeout and he was absolutely delightful. Loved meeting him, and the food was some of the best we’ve ever had. We had the soup for the appetizer, and the vegan entrée. AMAZING! So good… and the dessert was so good, we couldn’t stop raving. This place is a must in the Poconos!

We found this place while searching for vegan listings in the area. We might be jaded– but there were only two vegan options… we felt duped but were hungry so we stayed. So just note: this is not a vegan place. We sat down and were the only ones there for a 2 pm Saturday lunch. Immediately we noticed the space: dirty. Posters were thumb tacked into the walls, making it seem half finished. The floors look like they haven’t been mopped in weeks, and the foundation supports of the tables underfoot were dusty. The ledge of the wall that separated our table from the kitchen was dusty, and not just a little dust, but looked like it had never been wiped off(and it was at arm height next to our table). So we were a little grossed out already, and then the glass of orange juice came out in what looked like a dirty, sooty candle votive. The cup was so dirty on the outside that it left brown on our fingers. Needless to say, we didn’t drink the juice. The waitress never came out to ask if we needed anything between ordering, or to take our plates or refill coffee — we had to ask. She also didn’t clear the straw wrapper or wipe the table of the folks who left as we were coming in. After we complained to one another about how gross the environment was, the cook(and I presume owner) came out to give us our food and tell us a bit about the place. The food was very good — much better than we expected, given the environment. I had chilequiles, which was a small portion but nicely done, served a mix of potatoes as a side. Wife had vegan nachos, which was more salad than nachos, which she enjoyed. The food was good but the dining room environment made us question how dirty the kitchen was. We tried not to think about it. The dining room has a large open space, where live Caribbean music is played every so often, and a different world music group plays once a quarter. They are definitely serving the community a diverse experience they probably can’t get elsewhere in the area. Recap: good food, nice woman in kitchen, gross environment, and not really a true vegan place.

Great food, nice ambiance, friendly staff and reasonable prices. I stopped here for lunch yesterday after the nearby Everybody’s Café was closed. Right away the waiter was very hospitable and nice. I ordered a lunch portion of veggie dumplings for just $ 5, but they were quite good. The mango iced tea was amazing. Now, let me explain why I took one star off the rating. Well, the menu was somewhat unclear about what was vegan, but it did state that there were more selections on the full menu. The waiter seemed very unsure of what was vegan when I inquired. I asked if the veggie dumplings were vegan, even though they weren’t labeled as vegan on the menu. He said they were, but then later on I overheard him say that the sweet and sour sauce they came with had dairy in it… I think the menu should be more specific about ingredients and vegan options or at least the staff should be more knowledgable about their offerings. The lunch portion was also very small. Not bad considering the price, but the dumplings came with a «salad» that included two slices of cucumber, two lettuce leaves and a small piece of tomato. Nice on presentation, but not terribly filling. I’d be willing to try here again for something other than lunch, but as it stands I’ll be generous and give them 4 stars.
