I love the food but we are here now and have waited 50 minutes and still no food! It’s a Monday and I have never experienced such slow kitchen service. I won’t be back anytime soon.

12 West is my go-to Southwest/Mexican restaurant in Central Ohio.

Really great food at a price that makes going somewhere else not very reasonable.

Another fabulous place in Delaware! Get the meatloaf! So delicious!!! Also the try the roasted brussel sprouts… oh my! Salsa is so fresh! And there’s a cilantro jalapeño sauce at the table that I had a hard time not eating.

One word… YUM! Fresh and delicious. Small menu so they can concentrate on doing everything well. New menu items… ceviche and spring salad with brussels

I love this place! Tremendous service, delicious food and super affordable. Good music. This place has a cool vibe. Interesting menu that did not leave me feeling greasy or gross after eating. Each time I’m done with my meal I am sad it is over. Great joint!

Excellent food and service. My wife and I tried this place because of the reviews and we were not disappointed. As in the other reviews, it would have gotten a 5 rating if they had more room. We went last Saturday night and the host took our phone number and sent us around the corner to the Barley Hopster. By the time we had our first beer almost gone, he calling us to be seated. We enjoyed both places . We will be back to try everything else on the menu. I had the meat loaf and my wife had the chorizo burger, both were excellent. We want to try something more from the Mexican dishes on our future visits.

I’m really pleased with the renaissance that Delaware, Ohio is going through right now. There are a ton of new restaurants that are excellent in the downtown area and 12 West was one of the first to start this trend. I’ve been here a few times and have never been disappointed. They serve Mexican but with a twist. It’s not your normal, run-of-the-mill Mexican. I will agree with Uncle B’s review that it’s more in the spirit of a Southwestern style. They have street tacos, burgers, steak, and a plethora of other options. I usually will get tacos. Most recently I ordered the Chorizo taco and the Ancho chili chicken taco. DELICIOUS. Just the right amount of toppings like queso fresco and red cabbage. The meat was flavorful and juicy as well. I’ve had the chips and salsa for an app and these are even exceptional. As far as drink selections go, they have a decent beer selection as well as a variety of mixed drinks and margaritas. Service here is decent and the owners are always working in the trenches with the other staff. My only complaint is the space. It’s TINY. Expect to wait on a weekend night for at least an hour due to limited seating. I’m really hoping they take over the old West End Grille location to expand but we’ll see. Their prices are average for most restaurants ranging from about $ 10 – 15 per person including one beverage. I’d say this place is worth a trip from Columbus for a flavorful, Southwest meal.

Another gem in Delaware. I am a fan of this restaurant and their tostada bowl! two fried tortilla filled with refried bean and topped with guacamole and roasted vegetables. It is so good you do not need meat, though chicken and steak are an option. Other yummy options include, pork belly tacos, Mexican skillet and Chimichanga. Restaurant is cozy with a large bar. Their Margaritas and fresh delicious and highly recommended. I also look forward to coming back to try the Spanish Mule, as I am on a huge ginger kick. Be aware so with all restaurants in Delaware, only beer and wine is served on Sunday. They do have an extensive beer menu with rotating beer options. This is definitely another must try in Delaware.

Great atmosphere and WONDERFUL service. The chorizo burger was very good and the sweet potato fries were awesome. Went on a Sunday so, unfortunately, I couldn’t try one of their margaritas. they have a great beer selection and I was happy with my IPA. Will go back!

12 West is an exceptional restaurant but inaccurately categorized as Mexican. This is more Southwestern which the owner will tell you. The pork shank is absolutely amazing and so is the Chorizo Burger. Both of these a must have. The meatloaf is also delicious but the best part is the Jalisco potatoes which is served with it. I’ve brought family and friends here on several occasions and everyone has loved it. The only item I would not recommend is the ribeye but this isn’t a steak place so that makes sense. I’d stick to everything else on the menu and you’ll be just fine!

Delish! Small and quaint. You have to pay $ 1.50 for chips and salsa, but you forget about that when you get your meal. The chimichanga &12 west burger are crazy good! Probably one of the juiciest burgers I’ve ever had. The sweet potato fries were great too!

Tried this place out based on the positive reviews from Unilocal.Wow! We were blown away! We sat in the back of this tiny place and got to see all the dishes leave the kitchen. Everything looked fantastic. I noticed a lot of burgers going out, so I decided that I would join the fray and get a burger… something I would never do at a Mexican joint. I loved it! The Chorizo flavor really came through without overpowering. The sweet potato fries were awesome too. My GF ordered their chicken chimi. Best tasting Chimichanga I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to go back.

There is no doubt about it, 12 West is my favorite restaurant in Delaware and the surrounding areas. First the staff are awesome and really care about your visit, it’s the little things that count, they remember me when I come in. I have brought in all family members that have visited Delaware and all agree it’s there favorite restaurant as well. The food is great, everything I have tried has been so delicious including the specials. The special today was Pork Belly chimichanga with rojo sauce, avocado and two farm fresh eggs. Everything went great, plus I love there bottles of house made salsas including Mango Habanero and Cilantro Jalapeño. The food is described as southwest meets midwest. For the vegetarians they have a killer tostado that my mom loves served with roasted brussel sprouts and seasonal veggies. I can’t wait to come back and try the crispy pork shank that Ron the owner was telling me about today.

We stopped here for lunch on our way through town. It’s a small restaurant, with lots of bar seating and a handful of booths with simple yet charming décor. We started with the chorizo queso and chips. Nice chunks of peppers and a nice thick cheese. We enjoyed it with the cilantro jalapeño salsa. For lunch We had the chorizo blended burger and sweet potato fries and the special, a barbacoa tostado with over easy eggs, corn, and picked onions. Both dishes were perfectly prepared and I only wish I had more room to finish the meal. We travel from Cleveland to Columbus fairly often, and I would definitely stop here again.

You like tacos? Go here. I promise you won’t be sorry. I had the carnitas and the chorizo and both were juicy and yummy and tasty. Also, the shell did not get soggy… everything was held together perfectly. I also tried the sweet potato fries because I love sweet potato fries and these did not disappoint. They were crunchy and delicious and the sauce that came out wasn’t your typical sweet, marshmallow stuff. It was more of a mustard thing, I think. Anyway, it was a legit sauce. The space is small so plan on going at off hours so you don’t have to wait. We went at the senior citizen hour for dinner so we had no problems. I think it was around 5 on a Saturday. I imagine if you go later into the day it gets pretty cramped in there. Also, shout out to Delaware! So much going on. It’d becoming a little mecca of yummy food and good drink. I’m impressed! The End.

Holy god! My husband and I have been in Delaware for 2 years. We never thought to go in here. Quite frankly, didn’t even know it was a restaurant. Our neighbors highly recommended it, so we tried it last night. We will be going back again tonight! I can’t stop thinking about the steak enchilada or the carnitas empanada. Yes please!

New refurb — looks the same. But it was great before! Food is good — Mexican style with meat and vegetarian options. Not the largest menu — but it doesn’t need to be. The empanadas are great — the nachos with steak are good and the cheese/chorizo dip is inspired and spicy. Margaritas — just the right balance of tequila and lime. Basic flavour-wise but good. The steak on the nachos was cooked to perfection. I may try that minus the nachos next time! Service was great. Never an empty glass, or a requirement unfulfilled — even during its reopening night. Also met the boss briefly — seemed a nice guy. Not expensive. Parking outside free if you can grab a space — if not there’s loads usually on Sandusky. So. Bigger menu and more flavour /frozen Marg options would be a 5. But it’s a great 4.

Ah-mazing! I’m so glad 12 West has found its place in downtown Delaware! The food is outstanding, and so are the prices. I can go during a lunch hour and get tacos for between $ 2 and $ 3 each, a side for about the same, and walk away completely full and satisfied. So let’s talk about these tacos. Cod, beef, chorizo, barbacoa, veggie, and a few others. They’re all delicious and have great spices. Plus there’s a nice, fresh, crunchy topping of veggies and other pickled delights to top it off. Also amazing, is the burger, which is a nice Mex-American blend of beef and chorizo! They’re going for the best burger in Delaware and they’re pretty close to nailing it. It’s served with sweet potato fries, which are always a plus in my book. Of the sides, try the rice and the street corn. The street corn especially has a great sweet & spicy blend sauce on top and it’s delicious. I’d ask for just a side of the sauce to dip more of the corn in. Full bar, great drinks, a popular place. You can’t go wrong. It’s a small venue, so there may be waits, but just put your name in and go around the corner to Barley Hopsters and grab a drink while you wait patiently.
