The ribs were dry and they left the membrane on it. I’m not sure if they did it on purpose or by mistake. The Mac and cheese was super expensive. Pretty disappointing.

Food is dry and no taste but the people are polite and it’s clean. Little pricey for the quality will not return.

First time visitor. I personally didn’t like my meal at all. In my opinion, there is nothing like baby back ribs. The rubs at Dickey’s were not baby back ribs. They were definitely dry and over cooked. The Mac and cheese taste cheap, artificial. The baked beans were edible. I personally would never visit this establishment again.

Literally have never had worse Bbq ribs in my life… Never again. Brisket was… Edible. That’s it. Can’t bring myself to write another word about this place apart from. That the staff was polite.

Wow! So glad we stopped here today! We were heading home from Columbus and looking for some place different to try. Dickeys BBQ hit the spot! I had the 2 meat plate with pulled pork & brisket, onion tangles and baked potato casserole. Everything was delicious! The hubs had the Saturday special … a big BBQ brisket sandwich with Mac and cheese & potato salad and a drink. The mac and cheese was some if the best we’ve ever had at a BBQ place! Both of the gentlemen working were VERY nice and a district manager was in the lobby working on paper work he was very interested in our dining experience. Dickeys has 2 new very satisfied customers who will be back as I often as we are in the area.(Might just cause a few more trips south, to Delaware, for us!

We usually eat here on Sunday after church. Kids eat free with an adult meal purchase and our kids are always begging to go. We always enjoy the brisket and pulled pork. We love the okra too. The crew is always nice and work as quickly as the can getting all the food prepared in a timely manner. The line can get backed up since everything is cut when ordered. For fast food bbq, this place is pretty good!

I had their chicken with a side of Mac and cheese and a side of Cesar salad. They do not offer Cesar dressing with their salad which I don’t like and their Mac and cheese isn’t very good. I highly recommend the chicken though!

What a treat. I stopped in and told them I was a first timer. They talked through the Menu and gave me samples of everything I was interested in. The brisket was delicious and the barbecue sauce had just the right kick and flavor. I highly recommend this place!

Selection is good. But the price for what you get is not good. 4ounces of meat and two sides and drink over 9 dollars. All is self serve except when you order. This is the only barbecue restaurant in the area you don’t have much choice other than going to Columbus. I would rate the the food fair but overpriced.

I see some bad reviews on here from months ago. Let me tell everyone: Dickey’s service has improved drastically in the last few months. We live nearby and just had a baby, and my pregnant wife kept craving BBQ. So we have eaten A LOT of Dickey’s in the last 3 months. I would give the food 4 stars. But the service is a five. We have occasionally had to wait(and they are sometimes out of things), but that’s what happens when you cook real food instead of reheating frozen patties or whatever fast food places do. When we have needed to wait, the staff has taken good care of us. Tonight they gave me an extra $ 5 off for no reason. I said, «Why did you do that?» The response: «Because I can.» I always eat their pulled pork. But I branched out and tried brisket tonight. They are both delicious. And their sides are quality too. Their waffle fries are addicting. So be careful… I highly recommend it. If you haven’t been there recently, give them another try.

One of the better BBQ’s around, I really enjoyed the brisket sandwich which I only had pickles and onion on it and the flavor of the brisket was enough did not need sauce. I also had waffle fries which were seasoned very well. Overall this is a very nice place to eat and it will give you another place for the BBQ’ s in the area.

I loooove BBQ and I live 3 minutes from here, but I rarely go. Meat is usually dry and they are constantly out of stuff.

We ordered their meat for my grandpa’s birthday party because it was some of the cheapest semi-catered BBQ I could find in the area and it was yummy. I ordered online well in advance and their system didn’t actually print the date I wanted my order, so they made it a week early, but the restaurant faulted the system, not me, and gladly made it again the next week. Would definitely use them again.

I’ve been to this Dickey’s 3 times in probably as many years, and in my opinion, it’s slowly trending down. I am a big fan of Texas-style BBQ, which is why I will occasionally make the trek up to Delaware to eat at Dickey’s. There is still a lot to love here, so I’ll start with the positives: –The smoked turkey is delicious! I know a lot of people can’t get behind the idea of turkey at a BBQ joint, but trust me on this one. It’s the best meat they offer. –I like their sauces. They’re thinner and more vinegary than the usual ones I find in Ohio. –The wait staff is always very friendly. –They have delicious sweetened and unsweetened iced tea. I usually go for half and half in one of their giant yellow plastic cups. –They have free ice cream! It’s that horribly delicious soft serve that every dairy maid and fish fry in Louisiana used to have. So see… a lot of good things. I just can’t go with 4 stars because I think that tells people, «Bryant said to drive 37 minutes from the city to eat at this place.» Annnddd you probably shouldn’t. Here’s why: –It’s a chain, and a lot of things feel very chainy. I don’t want to claim to know their business practices, but it feels like a lot of their products just get shipped to the store and heated up in-house. That is complete speculation on my part — and not a judgment. –The people working are all really young, probably teenagers. While they are adorable and friendly, efficient is not the name of their game. –The store felt a little dirty and unkempt. Some tables weren’t clean, one of the sauce containers had a mismatched ladle from the others, and the condiment station seemed like it hadn’t been cleaned in a while. Nothing serious, I swear… just a bit unloved. –They are out of some things and didn’t seem to know the inventory status of others. Tonight, for example, they were out of baked beans. They also thought they were out of sausage until the customer ahead of me kept pressing for the girl to at least take a look. –The food is hit or miss. Some of the meats are good; some aren’t. Some of the sides are good; some are yuck. And what is up with those anemic dinner rolls?(I totally stole that line from Susie R.) That’s it. Not amazing, but far from bad. I think A-OK describes it perfectly.

Are there no great barbecue joints in the Columbus area? I had the smoked turkey which I’d give maybe 2 stars. My boys had the ribs which they really liked. The sides were ok and fairly good portions. I guess I just need to stop comparing BBQ joints here to those in Texas, OK, and Missouri that I’ve been to. I would pay twice the price for ‘cue like that.

I ate here before it was closed and re-opened. The food was decent and far better than Hoggy’s(which used to be in downtown Delaware, Ohio). Employees are always well mannered and despite me confusing the sale they have on sandwiches the cashier still rang up my sandwich on sale. I thought rewarding me for my inability to read a sign correctly was very nice. I do miss when Dickey’s had specials all the time but they may have been part of the reason they closed down the first time because they weren’t making enough money with all their specials. The sides are simple, the food is simple but it gives my tummy a warm feeling and their barbeque sauce is one of those«I put that $*!t on everything» sauces.

Meh certainly describes the food here. Smells wonderful outside, but the reality is is that it’s not very good. I love that the place is spotless, and that you get a «free» dessert after dining in. This is where the positives end. The food is over-priced, cold, and ok at best. Most of the sides have that«off» taste of having been frozen and thawed. Could be wrong about that, but something is just not right with them. The staff is horrible. I felt like I was being an inconvenience to them by actually ordering food. Restaffing is in order. Service and image are the #2 and #3 most important things in the restaurant world(#1 being product). This place fails at all 3.

A Sunny but chilly Ohio Spring day brought me just east of Delaware and Dickey’s BBQ Pit on the south side of Sunbury Road/Route 36. It sits back from the road in a newer strip center just down from a Dollar Tree store. Walking in you are greeted by the friendly staff behind the counter. They ask if you are familiar with them and are more than happy to explain their menu. Each meat is cut there at the counter to your specs when you order, not pre-cut. A nice but simple selection of meats and sides are offered here like the West Texas and Okie places I frequented in my past. After hiking around Alum Creek I had a major hunger going so I decided on their 2 meat plate. Pulled Pork and Texas Style chopped beef were my choices and this came with 2 sides. A mildy spicy but not sweet BBQ Beans and freshly fried Okra, fried when I ordered it, not from a steam table or heat lamp. This also came with a very tasty roll on the side for soppin’ sauce. All this for 10 bux, niiiiice. My order was put together in good time and I next hit their heated buckets of BBQ sauces, a house sauce, a very wonderfully spicy sauce and a sweet sauce. You can spoon it on your meat there or fill cups to bring to your table. Self service drinks come in their«Big Yellow Cup» a 32 ozer for 2 bucks and they have some great sweet tea on tap. A nice clean dining area with checkered tablecloths and warm lighting make it a enjoyable place to put your feedbag on. And for the kids(or the kid in you) Free soft serve ice cream cones! The gals working here are very friendly and took time to tell me about the chain and it’s Texas origins and about the food they serve. To me it’s like they took a West Texas BBQ Shack and turned it into a chain concept, works for me and my carnivore tendencies.(I mixed the last of my pulled pork and chopped beef together and ate a creature I like to call Moork!) Kids meals are 4 bucks and the little dudes and dudettes eat free on Sundays per paid adult meal. Plenty of take-out and catering is offered and would be a great place to score a picnic meal for the lake nearby. And yes for my veggie friends they do offer a couple token salads but 2 of the three have meat on ‘em so Vegans beware. I know I’ll be back here on my next time in the area ‘cus this is a shmokin’ good place. Texas BBQ and Hogback Cliffs Nature Preserve made this a great central Ohio day roadtrip.
