Goodwill

I have found that this Goodwill location is particularly good for finding unique furniture. I’ve bought a vintage set of lockers (pulled from a high school) that I refurbished. I’ve also got some 1960’s pinup art here too. They have a pretty decent selection of women’s clothes as well. When I lived in Delaware I frequented this location quite often. There’s always something random for the picking :)

It’s a thrift store, so it’s hit-​or-​miss every time. We found a few pieces that could be altered for cosplay purposes, but only after multiple trips.

I’ve had days where I find nothing and others where I walk away with armloads. Overall, though, I’ve been pretty happy with the Delaware Good Will. You can get lots of decent staple items — tanks, skirts, tops– as well as some nifty costume pieces. I actually found a gorgeous Korean Hanbok in there the other day! (I didn’t buy it — that is not a style that is flattering on me, but I love to see those sorts of items nonetheless.)
Most items are in good shape and the prices are fairly reasonable. There is also a decent set of dressing rooms available with plenty of space to try things on then move about.
Be sure to check out any area that interests you. Flipping through the books, I found a fantastic art book for my sister — probably $ 100+ new, I got it for $ 5! I have also seen some amazing shoes (though not in my size, sadly) and other name brand items.
The people working there are usually pretty nice to boot. It does have that musty old-​clothing smell, but that’s to be expected.
This location offers clothes for every shape and size as well as accessories, books, records\CDs\etc, knick-​knacks, furniture, appliances, shoes, housewares (curtains, sheets, etc), and so on.

I really liked this Goodwill. It was quite large and had a good selection of things to choose from. I always like to rummage around and and see what cool buys I can find. As usual, there were some good khakis, long sleeves for men.
I was looking for a nice set of black khakis which they didn’t have, but I was surprised that just about everything was 3.29. Not a bad deal I say. Hopefully on another road trip to Detroit I will find something in there.
