Cabin On the Hill

My husband and I stayed for a romantic getaway on New Years Eve. We felt right at home and didn’t feel in the least like we had to stay in our room the entire time. We played pool and ping-​pong downstairs, hung out in front of the fireplace in the living room, watching the big screen TV, visiting with other guests. It was toasty warm in Cabin on the Hill on one of the coldest nights of the year. We were entertained by the owners. They are delightful and quite amusing. We had plenty of private time in the main suite. The bathtub in this room is wonderful with the jets that relax your neck. I would recommend this as the premium place to stay in the entire surrounding area.

This Bed and Breakfast style 15,000 square foot former home/​cabin is amazing! We needed lodging accommodations in northeast Iowa for several family members and the only hotels available were older and lower end. We found Cabin on The Hill through the Manchester, Ia Chamber of Commerce and what a terrific recommendation. This gorgeous real log cabin (logs brought in from Montana) sits on a hill overlooking wooded farmland, wildlife and twinkling nights lights. The private rooms all have bathrooms and the «apartment» even has a full kitchen and laundry facility. The basement is furnished as a huge game room complete with a wet bar, pool and ping pong tables. The owners are very nice and accommodating and make breakfast daily in their huge kitchen. We were allowed practically full access to the cabin ²⁴⁄₇ which made us truly feel like we were at home! The «cabin» sleeps 20 people comfortably and would be perfect for weddings, reunions, etc. we usually stay in Cedar Rapids but we definitely be driving the extra 30 – 40 minutes to stay at Cabin on the Hill next trip to Iowa!
