This is a step-back-in-time kind of place, and I hope it lasts forever. Aside from the wonderful ephemera in the store(old photos, original woodwork dating back many decades, vintage signage, etc.), it’s a great place to get anything from sewing/embroidery supplies to warm clothing(hats, gloves, flannel shirts, coats, etc.), Woolrich blanklets, shoelaces, bandanas, scout gear, and other cool stuff. I still have the great Woolrich jacket(red plaid) I purchased here over a decade ago and have worn constantly – and last weekend, I got a cool hat to match it. In a time of cookie-cutter everything, I highly recommend stopping into Chauncey Stewart and picking up a few things. The folks here are very friendly and helpful; I know you’ll enjoy your visit.
