When a Fire Goddess gets cold, really cold, she turns blue and her flaming red hair evaporates. Don’t laugh or you’ll be next. Anyway, it was a bad Saturday morning and I was drenched, shivering, and starved — I needed something that would warm me up both body and soul. No, dear friend, it was too early for tequila shots. Instead I went to Four Corners for a cup of Stash Peppermint Tea($ 2.50), and a bowl of Split Pea and Ham Soup($ 5.95/pint) — delicious, thick, not too salty, loaded with bits of tender ham and potato, with just a wee too much pepper — this was surely a magical potion! I thawed. It was good. Four Corners is small and quirky, offering a dose of small town charm, mostly very tasty food, much of it homemade, including daily baked goods(their combo white/wheat French bread is almost divine). The menu includes standard breakfast fare, lots of sandwiches and salads, as well as dinner specials such as BBQ and seafood. Oh, try the clam chowder while you’re there. Wildly popular. There’s a reason. Zena, Goddess of Fire

This place is a real gem. They have excellent, home-cooked-type food and they work on sourcing from local farms. Although the service is a bit slow at times, we will keep going back because the meals never disappoint. They also make a mean mimosa, and have a patio to boot!

So we came here on Unilocal recommendations. We were not disappointed! Very good service(slow Wednesday, late morning) Nice and eclectic menu with something for everyone. The place looks dated, but you don’t come here to look around! The food is honest, and the staff seems genuine. Only gripe, The pricing seems a little steep.

The looks of the place would make you second guess but when you taste the hot chocolate variety they offer you will have a different feel or taste about the place. The food is fresh and week seasoned. The serving size is filling. The customer service is very friendly and easy going. Highly recommend the grandma hot chocolate with gingerbread syrup.

Sorry Four Corners this was my last visit. 45 minutes after ordering for breakfast with a half full restaurant. Then the mediocre food is only lukewarm. Corned beef hash is 90% potatoes. Food is expensive and no regard for customers.

Absolutely amazed by the versatile menu. I’m coming back for sure. Today i went with a blueberry scone that was delicious. The buttery goodness contrasted by the sweetness and fresh tart berries gave my taste buds a wake up call. I really cannot wait to come back and taste some of the other very promising dishes. I wish i had known about them before. I am really excited about trying their homemade soups. Definitely going to become a regular here.

Before you visit, check out the story on their website about their bread oven. Anyone who goes to the trouble to save a beautiful piece of equipment has a special place in my heart. Only bummer is that they wouldn’t take us to the basement to see it, citing legal concerns. I’m not done trying. Situated in a building that resembles an old farm house, four corners is pure hometown goodness. I’m a sucker for counters and booths and this place has both. Lots of natural light brightens the joint. Pretty sure the owner waited on us and he didn’t miss a beat. Just the right amount of interaction, too. The menu is extensive. So much so that I stuck to the supplemental daily specials list and found a roasted squash sandwich with hummus on rye. It didn’t sound awesome, but us vegans have to take what we can get(once we sit down). I really enjoyed it. The squash was roasted well, the hummus was good and the bread was delicious. I’d order it again if the greek salad my cousin ordered didn’t tempt me away. If I lived nearby(and they were willing to grill sandwiches with olive oil instead of butter) I’d be a regular.

I want to give this place four stars. Really, this is a strong three. But can someone please tell Four Corners how to make home fries? The home fries are big chunks of potatoes, barely browned. No, no, no! A thousand times no! Home fries should be diced to about half the size they are here, and be well-browned. Most of our party had plates that included home fries, and no one came close to finishing them. This should be a clear sign that You’re Doing It Wrong. What gets me is that the corned beef hash is perfect! The potatoes are diced small and fried up nice and crisp with some delicious corned beef. So why can’t they make the home fries similarly? It kills me, I tell ya, it just kills me. If they could just fix those home fries and make them look crispy and appetizing instead of pale and blah, I would gladly upgrade to a four star review because everything else here is creative and delicious.

Very mediocre food. Nice people but food took forever. Granted, My girl and I were there on a Sunday, but as a restaurant that has been around for years you should know the flow of customers and adjust when need be to not have customers waiting 40 mins for breakfast. Nice people, mediocre food, not Super expensive, but not worth the price.

Friendly but horrible service. Can’t make a decent coffee to save their life! But the brownies are worth the visit.

The food at this establishment is mediocre at best. They have tried to make the dishes sound much more exotic than they really are. Being somewhat new to the area I was hopeful to find a breakfast place not too far from home. Explored this places once, got the smoked salmon eggs Benedict, not impressed. I also think that places similar to this usually have exceptional pricing. No deals to be had here. It seems after reading the reviews of this place that it must hold a nostalgic place in people’s hearts. It’s really the only explanation for as many positive reviews as there are.

I’ve only been once, but I’ve fallen pretty hard for this place. Could it be love? Their menu is very creative, and though I haven’t tried everything I appreciate the uniqueness to some of the dishes. They have all the diner staples, and some of them with their own twist. I had the greatest Reuban I’ve ever eaten here. With house-made smoked Pastrami. That is why they get 5 stars. Should you go out of your way to come here? If it’s not too much trouble, sure. But if you live locally, you should definitely be coming here.

This place has a good reputation in the area but I didn’t grow up here and just don’t get it. First and foremost, the coffee is terrible. I mean, I’ve had bad coffee… like waiting for an oil change in a crappy auto shop or something, and this coffee is much worse. I’ve been probably 3 times(I don’t know why) and it doesn’t get better. The dishes sound good on the menu but are underwhelming when delivered. There really isn’t an upside, the service kinda sucks like the other reviews say. It seems like the owners or managers just don’t care, and I really don’t either.

The Four Corners Luncheonette is only so-so in my opinion. This restaurant is kind of run down in terms of atmosphere, and it is not very comfortable; there are only about a dozen or so tables, so you kind of have to take what you can get, which in my and my in-laws’ case was a small booth. We barely fit in it, and we are all generally slender people. On to the food… I ordered a BLT(which was to come with chips & a pickle) and a side of coleslaw. Out came the BLT with just a little cup of coleslaw. There was obviously a miscommunication. I didn’t want to have to ask for the other sides I was entitled to so I just ate what I was served. The sandwich itself was very good(how do you mess up a BLT, after all?) For $ 8, though, the meal was lacking in terms of portion size. I did not pay the bill, so I don’t know if I was charged $ 8 and $ 3 for the coleslaw, or just $ 8(meaning the coleslaw came in lieu of the chips & pickle). I left feeling underwhelmed and that the food was overpriced. I doubt I will be back anytime soon. I can sit more comfortably and eat cheaper(but just as delicious) food at My Place & Co. or even the local diner.

We’re gone there several times, and each time, the service was awful… lousy attitude, unfriendly, and they act bothered if you ask them for something. Seriously, train your staff, or even better, replace them and train the new ones!

My son and I stopped in Black Friday morning for breakfast to support a local small business. I knew about the luncheonette from about 5 years ago. It was popular then as it is now. Located near and behind the Delmar Post Office, only locals in the know eat there. We had a hearty breakfast w/o any negative onservatins. Good solid food that tastes as it should. I would encourage you to give ‘em a try. Think outside of your usual routine.

While the dishes remain creative(Pumpkin crème stuffed french toast on raisin bread; who comes up with that), I thought the food was kind of bland and boring. Although, I feel bad saying that Free refills is a plus Huge portions is another plus The pecan encrusted chicken sandwich was a bit lifeless(it may be my fault bc I forwent the cranberry mayo), but it picked back up when I added bbq sauce The wife was not the biggest fan of mozz/pesto/sun-dried tomato sandwich
