Dick is a cool guy. Really knows his stuff so I feel comfortable asking him all my amateur painting questions. Sign up for Paint Perks. They track all the paint colors you choose, and they have constant sales. The 40% off sales plus regularly available online coupons make their paint more affordable than the crap they sell at the big box. They also sell Purdy brushes which I find are usually much better than others and made in the USA. Sign up for emails and you’ll see the occasional sales for brushes and accessories as well. And if you’re indecisive during a paint sale, buy the paint at a discount and go back later to tint it. This is why shopping local makes all the difference in the world.

I have always in the past bought paint at Lowes or Home Depot. Stopped in here because of a 40% off sale, sales which they often have and that we’ve taken advantage of now several times having bought a new house. Great colors, great advise, they don’t sell you what you don’t need. Dick, Mark and Shannon are knowledgable, friendly, funny and keep a straight face when customers ask the oddest questions. We’ve painted 5 rooms, stained deck furniture and 600 sq. ft. deck with their guidance. Almost painted the kitchen cabinets — SW staff there had expertise on how best to do so, but after painting the walls, the cabinets look pretty good. Between the sales and the advise what to buy and not to buy, we may have spent a tad more but probably saved in the long run. Today just stopped by for two quarts and didn’t even asked about a sale — they are that good. My only paint store now.
