We just tried this place the other night and were really excited to find a new place to eat locally. There were 5 of us all together, including a toddler, and we all loved our food. Everything was hot and fresh. Menu and prices are typical of a sports bar. Large selection on kids menu which is a plus to us parents. I believe this was a diner before Throwbacks opened so it still has a diner feel to it. We found the service to be a bit slow, but extremely pleasant. We’ll definitely be back.

The food is good and reasonably priced. The service has been good every time my wife and I have gone. They have well price alcohol also.

The place is awesome… Consistent delicious food… always pleasant staff… and fabulous drink specials… Definitely can’t find a colder beer in Delran… make it your bar… You won’t be disappointed :))

A slice above normal bar food. Good crab soup. Good turkey platter, good sandwiches. Nice and up beat and clean and nice people as waitresses there. Like this place a lot. Nice beer selection and a new outdoor deck to eat and drink. Plenty of tv’s to watch sports too

been going here for over a year, and it’s been consistently solid. Decent selection of beers(they could do a better job rotating them in and out…) and the food is always on point. Wings are good, burgers too, and they have breakfast to boot…

Stopped in randomly on Saturday night for dinner. The food was great. We got the chicken nachos, they were delicious! I usually cover mine in cream cheese and salsa and I did not even have to. My husband got wings, they had just the right amount of buffalo taste to them. My kids were thrilled because their dinners came with desserts. The menu has a lot of different options on it. I would definitely recommend trying this place!

I’m giving their new charcoal grilled wings and their cheesesteak nachos a 10. I was never a fan of their wings, but now I favor them over any other local bar! The perfect place to have a meeting event in their back room area, holds at least 50 people and the must have finger foods I listed above!

This place surprised me. I AMLOCAL and occasionally one wants to stay local. Off all the local places… this has the best wine by glass and food is good with enough choices. People are nice and the place is clean. I have been to all local places… this is the best!

I’ve been here plenty of times, it’s not my go to spot, but I enjoy it when I do come. But I’m writing a review now because when I went last night, I sat at the bar, and the bartender was exceptionally nice! She was kind of short and had blonde hair. Her name started with a B but I forget what it was. It’s a nice little place right in the neighborhood. I love their Garlic Parm wings! The reason I gave it only 4 stars is because sometimes, the service is a little slow, even when the place is empty. And, also, because sometimes they have live bands, and the place is so tiny that the sound carries quickly and it’s like you’re standing in front of a subwoofer at a rock concert. Way too loud.

This place is OK. Kinda has a dive bar/sports bar atmosphere. I wasnt impressed. Very slow service and if youre not buying alcohol which im not old enough to buy yet they ignore you. Good food i got wings as an appetizer and a cheeseburger as an entrée but i have to say i was expecting this place to be better

Honestly I’m a bit surprised by the vitriol in some of these reviews. I’ve probably been there 20 or more times and go back because I’ve never been disappointed. The appetizers and burgers(even the fish tacos) are well conceived and reasonably priced. There’s a nice variety of draft beers(about a dozen) that rotate seasonally. The ‘mysterious’ darkened room hosts group gatherings and fund raisers. It’s also the only way outside to the tables with umbrellas where people can drink, eat and smoke.

First time in this place, the service was slow, no big beer selection and the crowd reminded me of some dive bar. Also I had the hot roast beef sandwich, it was stacked but it tasted like rubber sliced up! I won’t be back!

Really… waiting almost ten minutes for a draft beer at a half empty bar is UNACCEPTABLE. I stood there patiently for a few minutes, watching the bartender messing with the POS terminal, walking back and forth, seemingly ignoring me. She made a fancy mixed drink for one of the waitresses that showed up after I was standing there three or four minutes, then cashed someone out. Finally, I decided to walk away, throwing my arms up in disgust. Then, and only then, she made an effort to serve me, complaining that she wasn’t ignoring me, but she was soooooo busy. Please… learn how to bartend if you are going to do it for a living. Management… train your people before allowing them to destroy your business.

Gives you the feeling of a corner bar with the amenities of a sports bar. Food is good but not great. If you want to watch a game this place is hard to heat.

SOMEONECALLJONTAFFER. When you think of a good sports bar, a few things come to mind. Lots of big screen HD TVs, a good variety of beers on tap and good bar food. Throwbacks has none of those things. The minute we walked in, we knew this place would be a nightmare. Cheaply decorated with«$ 2.99 Miller Light» and«Coors Light» posters, the bar itself is small and poorly conceived. An unused back room sits off to the back where random people wandered to seemingly have conversations without having to yell over a band. Also, bands are not supposed to play here. Acoustics? None. Take away ¼ of the bar space and seating to set them up? Good idea. If you come here to watch sports, you’ll probably be disappointed as well. One large wall filled with 5 or 642″ tv’s, and a few smaller ones strewn throughout the bar does NOT lead to good viewing experience. Didn’t get the chance to sit down, but I could tell from the seating arrangement that some spots in the bar didn’t have line of sight to a tv which is pretty essential to a «sports bar». Went over on 3⁄15 to meet some friends with the girl. It was apparently their St. Patty’s celebration. This meant they hired a band to scream into the crowd all night. Want to have a conversation? NOTATTHISPLACE. Had to literally yell at our friends standing right next to us in order to have some semblance of a conversation. Stood by the bar for 10 minutes looking like a jerk trying to get a drink because none of the bartenders acknowledged myself or my girlfriend. Finally got someone’s attention after what seemed to be the bar manager having to tell a bartender to come over and serve us. Good start. Thinking they would have a good variety of beers, I asked for a beer menu. Not necessary here as they have about 5 beers on tap; Coors, Miller, PBR(!!!), Yuengling and Sam. No Seasonal brews, no craft beers and the bottle selection consisted of 5 kinds of Miller(MGD, 64, Lite, etc.), Heineken, Corona and yup, you guessed it, the 2 kinds of Yueng available(standard and light lager). At one point, we decided to have a quick snack so we asked for some menus. After ordering one of their«gourmet grilled cheese» and an order of french fries, we were presented with a grilled cheese and a side of fries, not an order. Got that wrong too. Their grilled cheese came out hard and cold. As a lover of the grilled cheese sandwich, this was an embarrassment to the beloved bar snack. How you can screw up a grilled cheese is beyond me, but they managed to do so. Here’s what really got me about Throwbacks and the reason I’m writing this review and will never return: After we’d had our share of disappointment we decided to call it a night. Although we live very close by, we decided it would be best to take a cab home as I had quite a few beers and she had several glasses of wine. We called the number posted in the doorway for a local cab company. Non-working number. Okay. So we went back inside and asked the host to call us a cab. He tried 2 or 3 cab companies with no luck and proceeded to tell us he couldn’t get us a cab. We asked to talk to the manager about this so he was called over. The gentleman couldn’t have cared less. «I’m sorry, I don’t know what to tell you» was his response to me pleading with him to find us a safe ride home. «Isn’t bar patron safety your first priority?» I asked. He shrugged his shoulders and basically ignored the question. Asked again and he simply walked away. Luckily the girlfriend only had 3 glasses of wine so she managed to get us home, but they literally sent us out of there to drive after drinking. I can’t even begin to fathom how a bar could do that. I don’t review a ton of places, but I couldn’t ignore this place. As disappointing as a bar can be, I’m usually very tolerable, drink some beers and try to make the best out of it. When you put the safety of people in question, I lose my patience. I will not be returning to Throwbacks, ever. After this experience, my friends and I will continue going to Whistlers up the road, for great food, trivia and Flyers games.

I have been there twice and have been satisfied both times! The $ 2PBR and Coors Light is a great deal. The staff could have been more attentive, especially for a slow night. Some of the foods is a lot less appetizing as the menu advertises. The boneless wings were great!

I was here for a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon and its a really nice little sports bar/pub. They have a pretty standard menu of burgers, sandwiches, wings, nachos, and fries. I ended up ordering the BBQ pulled pork which was good, but not anything particularly special. All of the entries came with fries, which were very good and their special«wet fries» come with an interesting combination of cheese wiz and gravy. The place was pretty full and our service was excellent. Our food was ready within 15 minutes and everyone enjoyed their meals. They also had some good beer and drink specials — domestic beers for $ 2.50 and imports for $ 3.50 The place is well lit and decorated, definitely a sports bar that you could watch a game in or hang out for a while. They probably have a dozen TVs behind the bar and a lot of comfortable seating with a combination of booths, high tops, and standard tables. Overall, good prices, fast service, nice environment, and decent food!

A curious little spot, bright, clean, and spacious, lends itself more to a fifties style hamburger joint than a bar/grill. I wasn’t sure what to expect when i entered what used to be Nick’s Hometown Diner. What I found were some damn tasty wings. Plump, juicy and crisped just right. The hot wings were good, and the garlic were even better. The service was prompt and friendly. I only drank beer so I can not speak to the other reviewers complaints about liquor. I have friends in Delran so I suppose I’ll be back. If the wings are of the same quality, Throwbacks may actually be a wing destination. Do I hear the Jug quaking in it’s boots, maybe.

I was just here last saturday, and I must say that it was a lot worse from my last experience. The last time I was there, it was late-ish and wasn’t packed. This saturday it was WALLTOWALL people. Something I didn’t notice on my first trip is that there is a severe lack of seating. There is a really big open space in the middle of the bar for people to just mill about. And mill they did. What made it even worse was that they sectioned off a seating area that had seats for like 25 people for a SHITTY local band to play live music. And dear god were they LOUD. I’m talking, literal damage to your ears loud. It made no sense. Another thing I didn’t like was when I paid for my drinks with my card, they swipe and hand you your card back. Thats it. Nothing to sign. I’ve been checking my bank non-stop to see what hidden charges that comes with, if any. We left after a jack and coke each, after not being able to find a seat to order something to eat and not being able to take the music level anymore. Oh, and parking was non-existent. We actually had to park at a closed gas station next door, as every legal and ILLEGAL parking spot was already taken.

I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant, located at the former Nicks Diner location. They’ve spent some money updating the décor and it seems very clean and fresh. Lots of TVs of course, with excellent picture quality. Bathrooms were clean and recently remodeled(just make sure there’s paper in the stall, ladies). Food was better than average for a bar. This is the only sports bar I know that serves breakfast on Saturday and Sunday. The older folks were there chowing on their creamed chipped beef and eggs benedict. Breakfast sandwiches were available on thick hoagie-style bread, would like to try that next time. Specials for Lent which surprised me. Sliders menu. We had the Monterey chicken wrap(really good!) and the roast beef and split an order of fries(decent, would order seasoned fries next time). Fairly large mixed drink menu, prices between $ 5-$ 7 or so. Surprisingly, tap beers were limited and primarily basic domestics(Guinness is about as foreign as they get). So, long story short, they need a better beer selection and their parking is undersized for their needs. On a busy night, expect to drive all the way around and park across the street.
