HOW does this place average 4 stars?!? Was Peirre sick the day he cooked my crêpe? We only came for the crepes and they were Pretty crappy. It just like they just made a thin pancake and threw some fresh berries inside. That doesn’t sound bad, but when you’ve had some really orgasmic crepes, then eating crepes here is like the ugly bad date you don’t want kiss. The upside is they have a lovely outdoor patio in the front and a somewhat less appealing interior. You will want to be outside because the inside looks like a bland café — no character, no charm.

The crêpe itself is a little thick but they have expanded their menu upon moving one block west. The breakfast crepes are very good and the portions are just right. However, it’ leaves you wanting to try more and more!!!

I had the moulin rouge and my mom had the tricolore and we split them. Both were so good that we ordered another dessert crêpe. We decided on the hurricane, which was a little tart for my taste but still really good. We also ordered the coffee float which was black coffee shaken with blue bunny ice cream. Yum yum yum!

Crepes were good but service was really slow. It was a full house when we went and they seem to be understaffed, so would recommend going early if you want to get your crepes without the wait!

Taking a walk down Atlantic Avenue, my friend and I made our way up and down the sidestreets looking for something different. We had our eyes set on Nature’s Way Café for a smoothie, but I noticed on a corner of the street was a hidden little crepes place. «Crepes!» I said as I walked towards the place, and from there we decided, «What the hell, let’s get one!» The interior is very small and hosts a variety of things to choose from — food and drinks, desserts… very neat! We ordered one with Nutella, bananas, maple syrup and powdered sugar — it was like I was eating breakfast at 5pm! Very tasty, fun to watch the creation process and quick. In and out in under 10 minutes. I can’t comment on the coffee, but the quick crêpe was worth the hop across the street. :)

People clearly love the coffee here. I can’t speak to whether it is good or not, but they do have tiny French presses along the counter. I have been here twice — once for take out, once for dine in. The service is… odd. It’s a very small place, they have a lot of people working and it’s still very slow. The kitchen is not managed very efficiently, each dish is made one at a time, as opposed to semi-assembly line fashion. It was :20 from the time I placed my order to the time they started cooking it, which took another :06. I saw two Nutella & strawberry crepes sit on the counter for :03 waiting to be picked up by a server– this place is so small, employees past by the prepared food several times before someone picked it up. There were multiple people in the kitchen and serving who were wearing open toed shoes, and there were two children serving patrons — I imagine they are children of the owners, but one of the girls couldn’t have been more than 11 or 12. The food was mediocre at best. Lox, spinach & egg crêpe had no flavor to it.

I wanted to like this place because I love crepes… But here is the thing. 1. The crepes are kinda tough. Not sure how to describe, but the are not soft and nice like I have had elsewhere. IHOP unfortunately does a better crêpe. 2. Service and staff are mediocre. 3. Décor and tables are dark, cramped, and dismal which gives off a dirty impression, although it might just be an impression. Too many other places for a good breakfast. I agree with the other more realistic reviews posted on this place.

I happened upon Crepes by the Sea while wandering Atlantic Avenue in search of coffee. I figured it’d be worth a try to stop in, and if I didn’t like it for breakfast, I thought I could always order some sort of concoction stuffed with Nutella that would be perfectly passable(who doesn’t like Nutella?!?). I was pleasantly surprised by both the coffee(they roast their own beans) and the crepes. The flavors are pretty simple and not overwhelming. I went with a basic ham, egg, and cheese crêpe the first time I stopped by and was pleased to find that my eggs were actually cooked over-easy, which added a nice dimension to the overall pancake/cheesy/salty goodness thing. The only improvement, really, would be to figure out how to do ham that doesn’t very closely resemble the thin-shaved stuff I’d purchase at the deli myself. My main complaint about CBTS would be the service. The two ladies making the crepes seemed on top of their game, but the two younger dudes(and when I say younger, I’d guess not quite 18) were either under-trained or over-tired or a little of both. One snapped at one of the ladies because she didn’t quite give him the answer he wanted on some procedure, and this seemed to visibly upset her, and it made me uncomfortable. The other completely forgot to bring me silverware, and when I went to ask(after my food had arrived), he was kinda like, «Oh,» rather than, «Right, silverware is, like, important.» Then he finally did bring me silverware, but no napkin and said, «Oh yeah, do you want a napkin?» like these are not the very basic things someone might want before eating a meal. Otherwise, it’s a nice breakfast place with decent food that’s filling for not too much cash.

I’ve been fooled once by your quaint décor and friendly entrance. and… I was fooled again when i visited a second time hoping that the food wouldn’t be painfully mediocre again. They are crepes. Which could be a good thing, but they were not fresh. They were pre-made and reheated. The crêpe maker was pretty nice, but the cashier rushed me to order and was dismissive. I wanted to give this place more stars, but I couldn’t make myself. They just dont deserve it.

Went here for a late breakfast while on our way to the Delray Beach Green Market to pick up our weekly produce. We’d been eyeing Crepes By the Sea for awhile now, and boy were we happy with our decision to stop! I experienced the St. Tropez which was a savory crêpe filled with a 4-cheese blend and pineapples. Pretty simple and pretty tasty, and priced at the typical Atlantic Ave prices — $ 7.95. My husband ordered the Cocoloco which was a sweet crêpe filled with bananas, coconut, maple syrup, brown suger, and topped with powdered sugar. He got exactly what he ordered — a sugar high! He enjoyed it, but admitted it was a bit too sweet. This place is tiny, tiny, tiny with maybe 3 – 4 small tables inside, and 2 tables outside on the sidewalk. There was no wait though when we arrived, so we got our pick and chose to sit outside — a nice thing to do in November in S. Florida. If you wander by this place, check it out. The menu is big, and they’ve got 4 vegetarian options on the crêpe menu, along with a large omelet menu. Nice, quick, easy breakfast.

The nutella 360(nutella, banana, strawberries) rules. It is a gooey, fruity, mishmosh of sweetness. The fruit lets you pretend that you are eating something kinda healthy(even though we all know nutella has as many health benefits as a bacon spread). The roast beef/goat crêpe also rules. I give CBTS mad props for utilizing horseradish on this item. Horseradish is the only acceptable topping on roast beef. In the future, human beings will genetically combine the cow and the horseradish and it will be the perfect food that unites mankind.

Nothing fancy here. The food speaks for itself. Small little hole in the wall serves some of the best crepes I have ever had. The Cousteau, my favorite, has smoked Norwegian salmon, crème fraiche, capers, green onion, fresh lemon juice. For Dessert, try the Hurricane: brown sugar, nutmeg, lemon & banana!

Pretty good – not quite like the crepes they sell off the street in Paris – much smaller. I had the dessert crêpe with sugar and lemon(like a Norwegian crêpe(Pannekaker)) – except they used crystalized sugar instead of powdered, so it wasn’t that great to bite into(i.e., crunchy instead of smooth), but still good and worth the experience if you love crepes. PS: I like the straws they use in their drinks-they use the flexi ones – you know, that bend. Old school style – I dig it.

Crepes filled with Nutella, strawberries, and bananas. Need I say more? My mom and I stopped in for a quick bite to hold us off until our dinner reservations at a restaurant close-by.(There’s nothing wrong with dessert before dinner!) It is indeed a tiny place, but extremely welcoming and they get extra points for playing great music. Our server was incredibly friendly and attentive, and acknowledged us as soon as we opened the door, and handed us two menus. We decided to go with the Nutella 360 crêpe to share, and it was fresh, simple, and delicious. Our server even split our crêpe in half for us by serving it on two separate plates — we didn’t even have to ask him to. Yep, it’s the little things that count. I also ordered their iced coffee which was quite good. Although our visit was a short one, everything was fast, quick, and spot on. Without a doubt I would definitely stop in again next time I’m in the area.

Fresh ingredients, friendly service and amazing taste combinations. This was one of our planned stops when we drove three hours to get here. SO very glad we did! This was my first time eating here after visiting Delray Beach once before, saw this place, and had to put it on our to-do list. We were not disappointed. We ate breakfast and my husband decided to try the 360 Crêpe, a luscious mix of Nutella, strawberries, bananas, and blueberries(were added because they were fresh in season). It was delicious. I went the more«traditional» route with a ham, egg, and cheese crêpe. Absolutely wonderful. Their Guatemalan coffee is made by French press, their citrus-infused iced tea created a blessed beginning to my day. I enjoyed talking to the staff and owner who were all gracious and attentive and worked hard to ensure everyone in their quaint place was well-served. We will be going back!

This place is small, but delicious!!! I enjoyed my nutella, banana & strawberry crêpe. Loved how the fruit was cut up into little pieces. The 6 year old with us was very fussy. The owner/manager came right over to give her some crayons & paper. He even took the time to draw her a picture. This place is great for food and service!

One of my superpowers [and yes, I have many] is my uncanny ability to uncover crepes in seemingly unlikely places. There is no prior research conducted. My stomach simply serves as a divining rod. I’ve devoured crepes in 36 states, 18 countries, and a handful of islands. If there’s a crêpe to be had, I’ll bump into it. And promptly shove it into my mouth. I was walking down Atlantic when my stomach started tugging to the right. I looked to my immediate right and saw puppies. I know, from previous experience, that they’re not as tasty as you’d think, so I ignored my stomach. It tugged again. Diagonally across from me, to the right, was a red awning that simply read: C r e p e s. The last time I visited Delray was two years ago and that red awning and the promise it made were not there before. An investigation was required. The shop is small and designed with a modern aesthetic: clean and minimal. The white, red and metal color palette is repeated throughout and lends the shop a casual, unhurried feel over the cozy ambiance most creperies emulate. The owner, Jason, was very friendly and welcoming. He was extremely accommodating in providing a crêpe-making lesson and answering our litany of questions concerning our quest for the perfect crêpe [turns out our griddle is too hot]. As it was a very warm day and we had just had lunch, we settled on light dessert crepes [i.e. forsake the normal nutella route] — the lemon lambada [a simple butter, sugar, lemon juice, powder sugar crêpe] and the Hurri’ Cane [butter, brown sugar, sliced banana, ground nutmeg, splash of lemon, powdered sugar]. The lemon lambada, despite being the most simple of crepes, was very good. You find quite a range in the basic lemon crêpe and often encounter a heavy dose of lemon that makes your crêpe taste like Joy dishwashing soap. The Hurri’ Cane crêpe was excellent. It managed to be both light and textured, a feat rarely accomplished. All the flavors were present without overpowering the delicate crêpe or our tastebuds. Highly recommended. We didn’t venture into the savory crepes but several looked promising. Jason asserts the Ricky Bobby is the way to go [cheese, ham, tomatoes, and a fried egg on top]. There isn’t a full kitchen present, so it’s more cold cuts and cheeses instead of meats and sauces. The presence of whipped cream and ice cream makes me a little leery, but there does appear to be a respect and appreciation for the simple, clean presentations of authentic French crepes. They’re just providing you with the tools to Americanize it, should that be your wildly insane preference.
