Me and my friends had a horrible experience here. After being rudely greeted in the restaurant we also had to wait 25 minutes to even get our order taken. The waitor took so long to do everything and it was not busy at all in the restaurant. Me and my friends have accents because we are from different parts of the country. The waitor asked where we were from and when we responed he then asked if we were in recovery. We felt very offended to be asked if we were recovering drug addicts. We left a very small tip because of the horrible service and then was told as we walked out to never come back. This was such an awkward, rude and uncomfortable place to be.

Horrible service tonight of course. The menu has changed and sucks. Manager was waiting on me asked for new to go menu she says we don’t have one and menu will be changing again. The kid behind the counter making the ice cream took forever to make 2 sundae’s. Always different people working there. Horrible, horrible place to eat.

I’ve been to Friendly’s numerous times before, but this location was a first last night. It’s pretty spacious and located off of Atlantic and Military. It wasn’t as colorful as I imagined it to be. The ones I’ve been to prior had at least something to look at and it seem lively. This one did not. I ordered the honey BBQ burger and a side of apple sauce. The meat was topped with cheddar cheese, bacon, ranch dressing, BBQ sauce, and crunchy fried onion strings on a Brioche roll. It was good and juicy. His kid’s meal was a cheese quesadilla with salsa and sour cream for dipping. Since that one didn’t come with a side, I got the apple sauce for my son to share, but he was too much into the ice cream to even notice it. The candy shop sundae was a hit for him with the vanilla ice cream, oreos, and M&Ms. Both of us enjoyed our meals and the service was great. Our waitress came back frequently to check up on us to see if we needed anything and we got it all for 10 bucks. Yay for coupons! However, I expected it to be more bright instead of the dull décor. I’ve always remembered it that way and it sucks that it’s long gone.

This place is horrendous. Do not go here. I have been in a friendly’s maybe 3 times and will never go to one again. The staff was pitiful and it took an hour to get food. We asked for waters and were told we would only get our«main» drink. We found plastic in the salad– and was accused of putting it there. Another family was complaining and the manager was no where to be found. I’m done, it’s just pitiful. Can’t go on anymore about it.

Friendly’s is the only restaurant that I’m aware of that will give you a free sunday if you order a regular meal. The restriction is you have to be over age 50. The only good thing that I like to eat here is the chicken salad. It gets boring eating that once a week. Glad I’m here though.

Great place to eat! Place is a little out dated but the food is fantastic! Great turkey burger and the waffle fries were to die for!

Ice cream is good. The rest, not so much. This place needs a thorough cleaning including the sticky menus. Sourdough chicken BBQ melt and bananas foster pancakes are the only 2. items I ever eat here anymore. Service can be really slow sometime, even when the place is empty.

I feel incredibly sorry for the people who work here. This place is intense. This place is located right next to one of the biggest old folks neighborhoods. The majority of the people that come in here are octogenarian rageoholics. They bring with them the smell of old broth, body odor, feet and blatant racism. The folks who work here bend over backwards even though possibly 100% of the customers are flat out rude and unappreciative. It’s a shame, because they have pretty decent food and good ice cream and my 5 year old loves the kid special sundaes. Very understaffed. I hate giving this spot one star, because it’s definitely not the staff’s fault, but the customers.

We have just recently moved into the Delray Beach area and my husband was excited to see a Friendly’s. I had never heard of it but he remembered it from his youth as a great ice cream spot. We went for milkshakes! There were maybe 5 or 6 tables with customers and we waited for almost 5 minutes to be seated. One woman was walking around the front of the restaurant with her baby, she was complaining that the service was poor. We kept an open mind, after all, we were just getting milkshakes. Our waitress seemed pleasant and quickly got our items to us. The milkshake was so thin, it was barely even cold. My husband had an ice cream soda and he had no complaint with his. Our waitress remade my shake and the second time it was awesome. We waited at least 20 minutes for our check. The wait staff was bustling about as if the place was packed but as I said, it was only like 5 or 6 tables. We asked several people to find our waitress so we could get the check and mostly, they were rude. There is a sign outside that they are hiring for all positions… They need to replace everyone working there. Worst service ever.

We came to Delray as a sidebar to our vacation to help my MIL with stuff around the house. We took her here for an early dinner although some of us weren’t super hungry and just had ice cream. I remember Friendly’s having chocolate marshmallow ice cream when I was little and living in New Jersey. They didn’t have that here so I had a small sundae with chocolate ice cream and marshmallow topping. It was really good! The restaurant seemed to have an air conditioning problem. It was on the warm side and very stuffy. The menu’s were sticky which was really gross. Especially right before ordering food. There was a help wanted sign on the door to the place so maybe that is part of the problem. It wasn’t the bright and shiny Friendly’s I remembered as a kid.

There are 7 Friendly’s in FLORIDA. If there are more, check out the GOOGLEMAPS link too: Brings back childhood SUNDAE memories where I enjoyed Friendly’s in NEWYORK And NEWENGLAND. The DESSERTS are what you go for, but the comfort sandwiches and such are addictive too. In moderation the DIETFOLKS say. hehe!!! More from the ORIGINAL Founders of Friendly’s: The NEWOWNERS of Friendly’s HEADQUARTERED in BOCARATON: and about 50 or so other WELLKNOWNNAMES. The other locations in Florida:

Clean, friendly, and consistent. Not quite what they are up north — but nothing down here really is … I’d go back. Our waitress was amazing. The food was consistent with traditional diner food. I would eat here again.

Moved to Delray beach, was excited that we had a Friendlys restaurant. That excitement ended the first and only time I went there. The place was dirty, should have alerted health dept. Employees were rude, unprofessional and lacked any customer service skills. Don’t know how food tasted, by the time they brought my ice cream order out, I was ready to leave. There are to many good restaurants around the area to waste your time and money there.

If you order the 3 scoop Sunday be prepared for mostly toppings and very little ice cream

Unfortunately I have to give this place three stars. I grew up going to friendly’s back home in Connecticut and was upset when I learned many locations were closing. I was lucky to have one located close to my house here in Florida so it’s nice to get some ice cream once and a while, but the place isn’t well managed and are normally short staff. Not the cleanest place either. But the ice cream is still killer.
