For a small rural town, Delta is blessed to have Bill Heddles Rec. Center. The place is kept clean and neat, and the people at the front desk are always very helpful and friendly. An adult day pass is only $ 4, and family of four can get an annual pass for a little over $ 500. Totally reasonable! Aquatic facilities include an Olympic size swimming pool, kiddie pool, therapy pool, and dry sauna. For general fitness, they have a basic free weights and machine room, aerobic room, a spinning area, plenty of treadmills, bikes, and steppers, rowing machines, tennis(outdoor) and racquetball(indoor) courts, basket ball/volleyball courts, meeting rooms, a party area with a comfy lounge, and even a child-care room at a marginal fee. The locker rooms are kept clean as well and are equipped with swim suit dryers. Having come here for several years, I have never found it to be crowded. The one down side may be earlier closing times than most full-service rec. centers, but I can generally deal with that.
