Delta Family Restaurant

This restaurant is a solid four stars. It’s not a greasy spoon but A Ma-​Pa restaurant trying to do the little things right, just as mom would. I’ve never had anything other than breakfast. Chicken Fried steak and the scrambler breakfasts are worth writing your mom about. This place is wallet friendly and service is spot on. Note: if your looking for honest good cooking pay this lower PA hot spot a visit.

I’m adding one more star because this is my third time here and service and food have been extremely good.

Pathetic. We decided to give DFR another chance and every aspect was as bad or worse than the time before. Even though we went for dinner at 5:30pm on a weeknight, the service was so slow we almost walked out again. After a long, long wait the waiter brought me the wrong sandwich. He failed to remember the specifics on his second attempt with the sandwich so I shoved it into a take-​out box and left it on the table. We’ll never go there again which is a shame because we only live about 3 miles from DFR. Pathetic.

Great home-​cooked food at reasonable prices. Consistently good service and rarely a wait. Try the specials which change daily. Soups are excellent and desserts are all excellent. Try the s’mores cheesecake or chocolate cake it they have it. Kid friendly and waitresses are all very personable.

Best breakfast in the world. Creamed chipped beef on toast and potatoes. Awesome service and great prices. Bathroom smelled like an open grave. Will come back for breakfast.

I love the breakfast at this place. I had a large breakfast for under $ 8 the staff was friendly and the place was busy. I had the French toast, eggs over easy and hash browns with onions, bacon and a coffee. Food was cooked perfectly.

I have only had breakfast here. Good breakfast. I have had many of the items on the menu and all have been good. Some times in the morning they get rather busy and service becomes slow. However the waitress does try

Really good sandwich. Highly recommended Chicken Port of Baltimore. Family atmosphere, kids enjoyed it. Always a plus

Reuse of previous customers left overs is NEVER ok.
It’s a greasy spoon place. Ok, I get that. My expectations were not high to going in.
We waited like an hour to be served. The waitress was nice and attentive and apologized saying the kitchen was backed up today.
When the food came, I was disappointed that the hash browns were lukewarm at best and were obviously from frozen. Not seasoned at all.
But as I started eating my creamed chipped beef, i noticed that the toast seemed off. At first I thought they had just toasted it early and i had gotten a bit stale, but it also seemed not to be crisp at all, even under the other pieces where the gravy had not touched it.
Further inspection revealed that the bread was not just stale, but also had been buttered, some time ago from the looks of it.
The obvious conclusion from old buttered bread having been previously served as butter toast to some other customer. Gross!
Neither I, nor anyone I ever speak to about this place will ever eat there again.

I’ve eaten breakfast here twice now and I can honestly say there won’t be a third time. Maybe it’s better if you’re a regular, but having to ask for simple things like a menu or utensils makes me feel less than welcome. And the food — typical diner fare — is just average or below. Prices are okay, but it could be a little cleaner. Still, the place seems popular enough, so your mileage may vary.

Pretty good food at a real good price. Some of the servers are really friendly. We liked everything except seafood combo blah.
