This was a random stop that led to one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. Cool little store, kind of a grateful dead health food vibe. Sandwich was unbelievable

This place is awesome! Definitely worth checking out on the drive by. Lots of odds and ends, and delicious cheeses. Super cool people that run it, and perfect stop before tubing the river.

I was so happy to be taken to this general store which I give 5 stars because of the uniqueness of the enterprise along a long and lonely expanse of roadway where there’s little commerce going on and even less opportunity to enjoy some of the simple finery of life that city dwellers have grown accustomed to having access to 24⁄7 but are flat out of luck in rural areas — like specialty cheeses and meats and essential oils. Step through the door and feel drawn to look at all the curious and interesting items on display, it may feel like you’re nosing around one of your elder relatives homes and before you leave you get the urge to raid the fridge for a snack. A real homey general store with culture and flair.

This is one of the best general stores in the state of Washington, hands down. Judging by the website, the business might be for sale. Go early, go often, and have a sandwich made to enjoy while skiing at Mt. Baker, hiking the surrounding foothills, or whatever. Get some beef jerky. The world needs thousands of stores such as this, but as it is, we only have this one. And look at the meat and cheese case! Unreal.

This is a great picnic place. Call ahead, order your sandwich and then dine on one of the tables out back and admire the veggie patch and the wonderful views.

Best little store on earth in my book. «The Nickel Pickle» Some may remember the house next to it on the big curving corner that’s dark wood and USED to have«PEACE» with a dove in tin foil on the side? Well I feel I grew up there and so I would be so privilidged to be sent on errands to get bread and of course I got my special thank you of picking out one of those flavored candy sticks that seemed as though there were 50 flavors. I think they were 15 cents. My childhood memories seem to revolve around Everybody’s store. I remember the Mr. and Mrs. Margolis and Beth, even though we moved when I was 9. I will NEVER forget the lanjaguers! ! ! ! Don’t even know how to spell it, but that’s how I remember it. When we get to go up to visit, you know every 5 years. it is ESSENTIAL to go to get a good ‘ol meat stick and maybe a pickle. I still have a little worry doll from the store. I do have to say, when I was there last a few years ago there was a bit of the snoodie-ness Dee M. described. It blew. RIP Maeve Ann

I shop at everybody’s at least twice a month, due to the awesome cheese selection, good beer, cheap milk and the usual groceries I forget while doing my «big» shopping. However, after today, I will NOT be going back. Every time I have been in there, I have been subjected to large dose of Rude by Mr. Margolis. Not just«I’m a doddering old hippie dude» spacey kind of rude, bur rather a straight-up-snubbed type of ignored, with a good heap of «your cheese /cured meats /vitamin needs are beneath me?» kind of an attitude. Why, I can only guess, I go out of my way to be polite(as this IS my neighborhood, and I like to make friends… bad plan to make enemies in an area with less than 300 people) when I do speak to anyone present, and I don’t act like an ass**** tourist like we get on Hwy 9 a lot. My only guess is that I am a young female and the owner finds this to be a personal slight, preferring to talk only to my husband — as in, asking him what I want, handing my change to him, and ignoring anything I may say… well, sometimes when I do get a response, I get a snappish, rude remark as I did this afternoon while buying cheese(apparently the difference between ¾″ and 1″ is a very huge distinction in cheese slicing needs and you should NEVER call a bit less than an inch an inch with Mr. Margolis, lest you be snarked about it). I wish I could keep shopping here, I used to love to go to Everybody’s when I was a kid and get ice cream, but I have been so rudely treated there that I will wait until new owners take over… if they ever do.

Some would say that it’s not worth driving a few hours out of Seattle to go to the grocery store, but Everybody’s Store is a destination! You have to see it to believe it. Some day when you feel like a scenic drive through the Skagit valley, go check it out. As their website advertises, this«exotic general store» offers sausage, cheese, drums, sandwiches, wearables, espresso, folk art, groceries, gas, propane, herbs, books, jewelry… and so much more!
