Had fried catfish and was superb! Dirty rice quite unique and very good. Cole slaw the way I like it.

Anywhere else, I’d probably rate this place a little lower but, given the limited restaurant options in Demopolis, this place is probably(and unfortunately) one of the better places to eat. Came here with my work crew on a slow night and we were the only ones in the front dining area. It seemed the server was busy with paperwork and stuff on the register but she was attentive and accommodating. She helped us find a game on the TV(the remote was busted so she looked up the guide and cycled thru channels by hand). We were also happy with the food service. The food… maybe we weren’t as impressed by the food. That isn’t to say the food was bad, just that it wasn’t anything remarkable. We all got side salads that were small portions of chopped iceberg lettuce with shredded processed cheese on top and dressings that were pretty bland. I got a shrimp po boy sandwich that had small, frozen, pre-breaded shrimp, sliced tomatoes, and more bland iceberg lettuce. Oh and a ton of mayo. I mean, it was ok but it seems like some pretty simple changes would’ve made some big improvements. The others in my work crew complained that their meals kinda sucked and they’d rather have prepared food back in their hotel rooms, if that’s helpful at all. Probably won’t come back.

Loved the jambalaya and steamed vegetables. We were really surprised as how tasty and well prepared the food was. The staff was extremely friendly and courteous. We will definitely stop by this place again.

This is a classic waterfront dive and bar, one of my favorite styles of restaurant. I used to eat here a couple times a year for lunch when I visited Demopolis, but they don’t seem to be open for lunch anymore. The location is beautiful(see the photos I posted) overlooking the Tombigbee river and the Demopolis Yacht Basin. Great place to watch turtles during the summer, as well as other wild life. Any good waterfront dive is «sketchy» as a previous review mentioned, but that is part of the allure. The food here has always been good, and service friendly. It is typical bar/dive food, like burgers, chicken fingers, and sandwiches, but in the past they have experimented with food(such as the philly cheese steak roll up, and I am always happy to support experiments like that. You never know when the next innovation, such as the ice cream cone or buffalo wing, will be invented. New Orleans Bar & Grill is on the outskirts of downtown, and where most development is off of Hwy 80, I am glad to see places like this hang on.
